- Making a coffee with the famous dripper V60 can be as exciting as frustrating. Especially if you are a beginner. Recently I had a chance to experiment with the tool called LILY DRIP - it is compatible with cone shaped drippers, V60 including and I was very positively surprised by the effects it had in my coffees.
This episode is great for anyone who wants to see what the v60 actually is and how to use it but also for those who want to check for themselves if Lily Drip would make any differences in their coffee brewing experiences.

Great you rinse the filter!! I have seen many not rinsing or others rinsing but not discarding the water!!!
I sometimes too don't discard the water afterward, but it's more accidentally than intentionally 😅

hello! I recently just got a Lilly drip a few weeks ago and have been brewing with it on and off. I believe the best way to describe the Lilly drip is that it sort of mixes the concepts of a flat bed dripper and frankensteins it with a conical dripper. The Lilly drip allows the coffee bed to have more surface area and lays flat within a cone dripper, allowing water to pass through nicely.
Also, I've realized that filter papers play a big role within taste and timing. I haven't used my v60 in a while but I have a cafec flower dripper and have been using oragami filter papers by cafec.

How many clicks for a Comandante will you suggest for V60?
My standard is 21 clicks, and then I work from there if any particular coffee needs some small adjustments ✌️

Czyli z 300g wody 50g zostaje w kawie i mamy 250g gotowego ekstraktu. A zasada 6g kawy na 100g wody tyczy się gotowego ekstraktu czy wody, która wchodzi w przelew? W sensie czy w takim przypadku powinniśmy użyć 18g kawy, bo używamy 300g wody, czy 15g kawy bo gotowy ekstrakt to 250g?
Kurcze, dopiero teraz YT pokazał mi ten komentarz, przepraszam że dopiero teraz odpowiadam! Ratio 6 gramów suchej kawy i 100 gramów kawy dotyczy składników przed zalaniem, czyli jeśli chcemy otrzymać około 250 gramów naparu, to 300 gramami wody zalewamy 18 gramów kawy :)

@@coffeethatgivesapuck Rozszyfrowałaś błyskawicznie moje zamiary :-) Pewnie, mam licznik w głowie, ale tylko pięciocyfrowy, a więc po liczbie 99.999 przewija się znowu na 0. Więc potrzebuję nowy, lepszy :-)

Won't we achieve a similar effect by using a dripper with a flat bottom?
No siema! I can see your point :) I'd say that the closest similar effect we would achieved with Clever Dripper though (in case when we keep the halve open all the time). I believe the Lilydrip is designed for those who don't want another dripper but got V60 and don't want to give up on it too quickly :P

I use a special edition Lilydrip called Lilydrip Gio V1.0 (I believe there's a 2.0 now), with my Konos dripper.
The Konos is known to produce a heavier body and sweeter cup as it has a smaller exit hole and the ridges are only found near the bottom compared to the V60 that has ridges are all through out the cone. Because of this ridge design, the trade off between a heavy body cup with a sweeter cup is clogging.
The Lilydrip Gio helps prevent clogging while also extracting the mid-heavy bodied sweet cup that the Konos produces.
Here's my recipe if you'd like to try it out:
Konos Dripper + CAFEC Abaca Filter + Lilydrip Gio
- 10g, 10-11 Clicks Comandante (around 4 clicks tighter than your usual recipe)
- 95C, 70ppm Water
- 50ml @ 0:00
- 100ml @ 1:00
- 150ml @ 2:00
- TBT: 2:45-3:00
