    At the 2:22 mark, when they turn her so you can not see her feet she pulls her feet and lower body into the first half of the train engine. The person hiding in the bottom of the second half puts their feet out the hole. Classic trick. Still impresss audiences, as well it should.

    It was easy to keep track of this trick.
    For a trick that was just made up, it really went off the rails.
    If you want to do impromptu magic, you just have to tell yourself, "I think I can. I think I can. I think I can."

    Let’s just say that if you don’t think that girl can bend her knees/tuck her legs up into the engine and another girl is laying in the bottom of the table for the feet, then you’re easily fooled.

      They ARE real feet. P&T didn’t use the traditional “tunnel” for the stretching effect prior to the reveal but that was probably due to time. It was great to see Greg (Mark’s son) and Sean RaeVon Wilson (Mark’s Grand Daughter) take over for Nani in this wonderful illusion.

    They turned the train with her feet away from the camera to hide the person in the table switching her feet. Her legs are going down into the table, which is thicker than it appears. A person laying inside the table has her legs sticking up and her feet where the first woman’s feet were. This is why they needed to hide the switch and they did so by turning her head towards us and her feet facing backstage.
    By tapering the edges of the table it gives the illusion it is not thick enough to fit a person into it. That is because we judge the thickness of the table based on the height of the table’s edge, but if you look close you’ll see how the table tapers down diagonally from the middle to all sides. The thickness at the edges is only about 2” thick, but the center of the table is about 6 inches or more thick, leaving plenty of room for two very thin people.

    • @RoarOfWolverine
      @RoarOfWolverine 4 місяці тому

      @@iLikeTheUDK They turned the table with her feet facing backstage for that part too. That way they had time to exchange their feet by the lady doing the feet could pull her legs back inside of the table with her body and the other lady could stretch her legs back out the far end of the train. By the time they take the top off, the two women had time to switch their legs again.

    When you see the son of Mark Wilson and Nani Darnell and also the granddaughter and they perform the Train Illusion you wonder where the time has gone. I can't tell for sure if she is wearing the same costume as Nani did while performing the illusion.

    it looks cool, but its lame. she obviously has her legs inside the engine part and legs sticking out are robotic legs with remote control or some random algorithm that moves them.
    this trick was revealed by the masked magician like 20+ years ago already. all those cut in half are always done in same way. sometimes they use 2nd person aswell to make it more realistic, but obviously nobody actually gets cut in half.

      It was a tribute to Mark Wilson and an act he did on his TV show "Magic Circus" decades ago. That's why there was all those pictures in the background and his family on stage to help with the act.
      Penn and Teller themselves have exposed this type of trick in their own act I believe called Rocket Man were Penn cuts and moves Teller in several different boxes.
