+Akira Nikamura right?? like he goes from pressing one button to pressing like 4 with two hands! even when he's just in a cut scene. I'm so lost on that
thats in situations his hands are unchallenged. most of the time hes moving his fingers like crazy, so his brain propably cant distinguish between those two states. so he has to compensate it somehow in silent situations.
Awesome commentary, one of my favorite games of all time. So many songs came on and reminded me why this soundtrack was up there with the Final Fantasy series.
Great run of a classic childhood game. :) Saw this on its rough cut earlier and I think I watched the whole thing through a couple of times. Thanks for such an entertaining run!
Sorry. I love what you're doing but I couldn't watch past 4 minutes of the run with the close up of your twitchy hands the whole time. The thumb wiggles and knee bounces was very distracting.
It's official, Puwexil is someone I would buy many beers for and shoot the shit with. Really cool dude and kind spirit. I've seen a lot of his runs, where he was either on the couch or playing. Puwexil, if you're ever in NYC, let me know. But you'll probly never see this. BTW where do these take place? Seems like the Midwest. I'm from Minnesota originally.
SGDQ is in St Paul/Minneapolis, AGDQ is around DC. Also having met Puwexil, he's a pretty chill guy in person, really what you'd expect from watching him onstream.
Hello everyone. I wanted to say that i have sent some emails to some news networks in hopes that they can give these guy more coverage. NPR usually covers new that alot of other major news networks miss out on and that is where I am putting my email focus. If anyone reads this plz help out and lets get these guys out there some more, I myself did not find out about them untill last year.
The whole point of the run is breaking triggers and doing things out of sequence. He skipped every trigger that would normally cause her to join, until the Desert Ship which is the first time the party is separated. At this point, the game forces her into the party.
Anyone else get the feeling Yagamoth doesn't like Puwexil commentating? Every time Puwexil makes a comment, Yagamoth responds with a very dry "Indeed."
Yagamoth "Im gonna have a super high profile couch, with some of the most popular speed runners in the scene" but then im never gonna stop talking and let them talk about the game at all.
Best runner I've seen so far. Explains everything and keeps it entertaining. Also it's almost never awkward :O
i really like Yagamoth... he's not just skilled but also he explains what happens and he gives a little bit of back story to the games... just great!
+Dennzyl Vania true but whtas going on with his hands ? he is pressing all the time buttons
Akira Nikamura
maybe cuz he have to?! i dont know
Agreed, excellent commentary and super nice guy!

Totally agree!
Top tier commentary for an amazing run. So. Much. Nostalgia.
Yagamoth is a really crack, he takes the time to explain everything, really awesome.

Yagamoth did a great job explaining what he was doing!
Absolutely marvelous run! Great work, great commentary.
Yaga is one of my favorite streamers - so chill and very clearly explains himself.
The small audience makes me sad :( Secret of Mana deserves better than that!
This run was at like booty-oclock in the middle of the week, most people there are asleep.
I first did not want to watch it because I did not want to see a realy beloved game broken.
ArmorOfGod secret of mana is fucking shit
you are fucking shit
Who's fucking shit? that sounds unhygenic.
how dare you breaking my favourite SNES game!?
... who am I kidding, you guys are awesome xD
love the profile picture :D
Hey, at least my favorite word wasn't "basically" this time around o.o;..
and all that at 5 A.M. in the morning is really insane, to say the least ;)
Came back a year later to watch this again. In my opinion still one of the best runs ever at a GDQ. You're the boss Yaga!
Indeed.
Basically, you avoided saying the same word a lot.
Sorry. I love what you're doing but I couldn't watch past 4 minutes of the run with the close up of your twitchy hands the whole time. The thumb wiggles and knee bounces was very distracting.
Wow that buying/selling glitch with Neko would have been great to know about twenty years ago. XD
I just went straight to memory hack lol
20:23 bookmarking this for myself
I spent 5 hours watching a Chrono Trigger speedrun before realizing I was really looking for Secret of Mana.
Run starts at 8:19
I just finished the game and had to watch this awesome run by Yagamoth!
So much nostalgia...
Yagamoth's narration is great!
1:48:00 You just used a HIGHSTEPPER to JUMP OVER the BARRIER on the *MANA FORTRESS* . That's AWESOME!!

Nice, I'm from mn too
@@Kittycat7070- hey me too!
Yaga is epic. I watched his videos when I replayed Secret of Mana.
This was amazing
gogogogogogogogogogogogo is my favorite charater
I replayed this recently. In a little over an hour, I got to the Gnomes palace after getting Water magic and felt pretty good about myself... yeah...
I love that moment when you first get flammie with the awesome music.
Look at all these badasses ❤️
....3, 2, 1 and ...go....* and the crowd of 2 goes wild!*
This was probably the glitchiest mainstream SNES game ever made.
not even 5 seconds in the run and we all know the gods suck :O ! Great run btw!
This game has one of the best Soundtrack
I looove this Game, wish me are You.
right yet!
;*
i life the sound - Tack.
never seen a speedrun where a guy used more than one controller
Officially, from 6:25 and on.... WHY DOES YAGAMOTH HAVE A FLAMING PIECE OF PAPER NEXT TO HIM?!? (donation goes to runners' choice.)
indeed...
Can Bluegrass be the new GDQ mascot? I think he attended at least 95% of all these runs
You got me XD
How did you make Phanna disappear at 44:36?
*Seeing the character name frisk in a GDQ run fills you with Determination
Lol "Buffy" never noticed that in US version. :-)
Yagamoth is my uncle :) i like him
Took me like 15X longer to beat the game than they did. That's a really impressive time for that game.
20:48 And I thought Skyrim was the only game you can do that in
Flammie HYPE!
23:31 BEST . MUSIC .

How did the game testers and devs not find all those game breaking glitches?
Great run !
So who are the other 2 on the couch next to Yaga and Puwexil ?
I know the guy on far right is the tech dude...
Anyone ?
Guy is brilliant
indeed
11:17 The sequel is finally coming!
SkullRoseSprite
These are the only names you need !
I used to play this game a lot "normally"
Indeed
Blueglass is so dedicated! 😭😭😭
1:04:25
Blueglass on the Couch!!!
what is blueglass famous for?
and his clapping. I love the guy!
This game is the main reason I am buying a mini snes
didn't you have to kill like 99 things to level up weapons?!
Is Carcinogen on the couch behind them? haha
the way he uses his index finger to push buttons makes me feel so uneasy. I don't know why.
He does it like a praying mantis. 🐜
I skipped a lot of it, but how was he doing 800 damage per hit against Thanatos?
Best game!
Ah! The days when you could say 'orb' normally at a GDQ. 🤭
Either this match was played early in the morning or no one cared to watch it.
+Shawn Witt I was thinking the same thing... at what time was this? Had I been there, I really would have wanted to see this run.
+Matt Catt In one of the donations he says "No better way to start my FRIDAY MORNING" So. The mortals wake up at like 5. So it should be 4 to 7 am.
Merrymegaman Makes sense. Good thinking. ;)
And thanks for the info.
All good mate. Here to help! (:
+Shawn Witt If I remember correctly, this run started around 7am.
How can you play with just 2 characters ? where is the little girl ?
The whole point of the run is breaking triggers and doing things out of sequence. He skipped every trigger that would normally cause her to join, until the Desert Ship which is the first time the party is separated. At this point, the game forces her into the party.
1:18:36 a wild BlueGlass appeared
Anyone else get the feeling Yagamoth doesn't like Puwexil commentating? Every time Puwexil makes a comment, Yagamoth responds with a very dry "Indeed."
Absolutely. And pointedly correcting him at every immaterial opportunity.
if he didn’t like him he wouldn’t have him on his couch. He is under no obligation to have anyone there if he doesn’t want to.
There is the commentary couch, then there is the blueglass couch which mirrors the inner hype of commentary couch.
Frisk was a character from a videogame called Braindead 13
Yagamoth "Im gonna have a super high profile couch, with some of the most popular speed runners in the scene" but then im never gonna stop talking and let them talk about the game at all.
Indeed
