In 1962 I was 4 years old, but I remember the Pete and Gladys show. My Mom and Great Grandma would watch the show while my Dad was at work. Wonderful memories
I watched Pete And Gladys regularly when it originally aired. Watching this rerun video marks the first time I've seen it in more than a half century. Now I remember why I enjoyed it so much at that time. Brilliantly written and masterfully executed. Cara Williams and Harry Morgan played off of one another magnificently, and I dare say that Cara Williams' comedic timing is far more engaging than that of a couple of others of similar intent that come to mind. Pure genius.
I saw maybe one episode when it originally aired. I only remember the heart in the opening sequence and the stars of the show. The show's title has stuck with me very clearly all these years. Amazing that any episodes would be available to see now. Thanks! Yes, I am very old. What a great Pixie & Dixie (and Jynx) commercial!
At the time, Kellogg's sponsored "HUCKLEBERRY HOUND" in first run syndication- and Huck and the "cast"- including Jinks and the "meeces"- appeared in "integrated" commercials for their sponsor [Huck usually pitched Kellogg's Corn Flakes]. Kellogg's was also the alternate sponsor of "PETE AND GLADYS" as well.
Yes, I'm old too. Don't you know, this is a spin-off of"December Bride"? The "Bride" program I only saw in reruns. "Pete and Gladys" , I saw them brand new and I was kinda shocked by them; they would show them in the SAME bed - together! I was used to programs like "The Life of Riley", Chester and Peg were always in separate beds.
I would have been about 12 years old in 1962, but I don't remember this one at all. I remember Gale Storm and Our Miss Brooks and December Bride, and of course, I Love Lucy. But I don't think I ever saw this one.
Leonid Kinsey who plays the French woman's manager is a famous actor: Among many movies, he played he bartender in Casablanca. He played this role well and was quite funny, a real pro.
I am old enough to recall seeing this show in daytime reruns on CBS. Never heard of Harry Morgan though until 1960s Dragnet.

Lovely, thank you so much

Cara wms really is talented. She has that rubber face, great timing...another Lucille ball.
Originally telecast on February 5, 1962. Don Wilson speaks for Coffee-mate in the first commercial.
I used to eat Coffee Mate with a spoon when I was a kid.
Wow, February 5th 1962 my 4th birthday
She reminds me of Lucy, which was probably the goal.
And the Colonel thought he had his hands full with Klinger, Hawkeye, and the rest..

He also appeared in the "HOGAN'S HEROES" pilot (as "Minsk"), but decided not to participate in the series.
@@fromthesidelines I think in the 1960s it was a problem to show that the US and Russia were once on the same side
Kinsey was uncomfortable with the idea of appearing in the series, and told the producer he wouldn't appear after the pilot episode.
Can you post have the three loves of Gladys
