- CBS-TV sitcom starring Harry Morgan and Cara Williams. (Cara will be the in-studio guest on Stu's Show on Wednesday, July 13, 2016). Gladys' contest-entering obsession finally pays off...but the prize she wins is not what she was expecting...and as a result, it causes havoc with Pete at work.
I watched this as a kid, I loved it, most people never heard of it, I don't think it ran to many years, thanks I truly enjoyed watching.
Fat deal
One of favorite TV shows in the sixties.
What a beautiful wholesome Kellogg's commercial! You'd never see a commercial like that today sadly.......
A spin-off from 'December Bride'.
That first Kellogs ad is precious.
We all lived in a more innocent and simple time. It is indeed a touching ad!
I’m not sure but it looked kind of like Erin or Diane Murphy from Bewitched.
@@dianagruver5767I was thinking the same!
Lighten up Francis
23:35 Why does nobody ever think of just turning it off or unplugging it?
Because it would not be so funny.
Wth cares??? What a wet blanket😂😂😂
@@DJK-cq2uy Every party needs a _pooper_ and that's why they invited me.
I am a _Party Pooper._
First commercial… the father looks like Fred Gwynn(Hermann Munster) and the little girl looks like Tabitha Stevens (Bewitched)
Richard Deacon played a doctor at the end of “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” (1956) who accused actor Kevin McCarthy of being “ crazier than a March hare “. (Until they began to discover the seed pods).
Great show. Very funny. This episode has Richard Deacon in it. He played Lumpy's father on Leave it to Beaver. Thanks.
He also played Mel Cooley on Dick Van Dyke Show.
And he (Richard Deacon) played Mel Cooley on The Dick Van Dyke Show also.
He also played on the Dick Van Dyke Show! 😀
Also around this time he had a small role in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963).
one of the best shows ever made
All I can see is Colonel Sherman Potter, from MASH, when I hear Harry Morgan's voice.
Funny, this is the first opportunity I've ever had actually to see an episode of "Pete and Gladys." Boy, the hair dye on Morgan!
A JFK impression. Wow, that takes you back!
Best TV show ever
I would have been about 11 years old. don't remember this at all.
Bur I do remember Our Miss Brooks and December Bride.
I remembered this show as a kid and loved it.
In 1962, her hair at the end of the episode was a punchline. In a few years, it would be hip!
"Kellogg's also brings you 'DENNIS THE MENACE', Sunday night- over most of these stations."
The commercials were excellent back then.
Since we only had 4 stations when I was a kid, I was very confused by the phrase "over most of these stations".
Cara Williams looked and acted like Lucy and had the voice of Ricky Nelson's Mother Harriet.
the intent, in the early 60s, was to set Cara Williams up as the next red-headed screwball of primetime..with P&G, though b/w, it's apparent that CW's hair is red, and a darker shade than Lucy; and a lot of the deer-in-the-headlights expressions immediately reminds me of Lucy...
Yes, She also has the same facial expressions
I think she sounds a lot like Lucy too
She really does.
I do see a lot of Lucy in her,
Lucy and Ethel, part 2.
🔵CAROL WILLIAMS CAN'T HOLD A CANDLE TO THE QUEEN OF COMEDY "JOAN DAVIS".🔴
23:08 I thought he was going to clean the vacuum out first like the instructions say to do.
always loved this show!
I love this show ,, especially with harry Morgan..,.I just wished they made a few seasons..they didn't
I WAS A KID WOW WEE
Fat deal😂😂
thanks
The woman at the end commercial played Aunt Vera on I Married Joan.
How observant!!!😂😂😂😂 🤪 🤪 🤪 😅you 😅to pfffft hmmmmph
That vacuum hair do looked like Phillis Dilller !
Grammar much?
@@randyhankins6355
I, don't see anything wrong with the grammar. It is a perfectly, understandable statement.
Mel Cooley!!!!!!
5:26 Attach to vacuum cleaner?
What could go wrong?
This is very similar to the "I Love Lucy" show.
Any idea who was in the last "Kellogg's Concentrate" commercial? I'm sure I've seen her in other things..
That is Elivia Allman, another distinguished character actress.
This program kinda shocked me when I was about 7 years old. It would show Pete and Gladys in the same bed - together! And in real life they're NOT married! And this program is a spinoff to December Bride.
This was funny, Lolol.
this show is so similar to Lucy and Ethel.
5:37 Interesting how that vacuum cleaner just happened to be there and ready to go.
4:56-- Gladys looks so pretty without the puffy helmet hair!
Bullying, intimidation, blackmail.
i loved pete and gladys. i was a young bride
The carnation milk and is still good
This she is an obvious copy of I Love. Lucy.
This episode premiered the same day as The Andy Griffith Show episode "A Medal For Opie"
Wth cares??
4:47 Cara looks so much hotter here with her hair down.
21:35 I think we all saw that one coming.
As a side note here.
Did the manufacturer not test this product out before they sent it to market?
thanks
