- This is a fan animation. WIP 2.
(WIP means work in progress, things may change in the final film).
According to Halopedia: The Battle of Mombasa was an engagement during the Battle of Earth, taking place in late October 2552. Over the course of the battle, Covenant forces captured the city of Mombasa, Kenya and it was quickly retaken in a matter of hours by the UNSC.

A suicide Spectre sounds terrifying. Love the original ideas you're adding in!
Also love the look of the plasma scoring on the tank hull. Looks really neat.
I loved the crater it melted away in the blast radius. So realistic to how plasma would melt everything
Another great one! I love the Elite talking in this, using ingame voice lines too is awesome and it is so nice to see normal humans fighting covernant too

Ok thats really cool, I love how those two elites saluted that one elite before he suicide charged the spectre into the tank, that’s such a cool touch
Absolutely terrific, great cinematography, the one thing your animations lack is impact with things like explosions, such as the suicide Spectre, because other than that it's absolutely amazing and unique
Felt that too, and also agree that everything else is awesome. Maybe more camera shake or louder explosion could help
@@LedZedd camera shake and subtle extra particle effects like dust/shockwaves and extra bass on the explosion sound would likely go a long way
This would improve things a lot. i like it already, but adding things like this would make it gold

The camera work in this is so good, makes the fighting feel gritty and intense.
That was so cool seeing both sides fortify positions and start fighting. And the kamikaze Spectre destroying the Scorpion tank was nuts!!
Keep up the amazing work, you and Vengeful Vadam (who makes the Halo 2 uncut mod) are keeping Halo alive for us OG fans and making it into so much more than it already was. Incredible animation! Great job as always! Just one small little detail: at the end there is a marine shooting a battle rifle but its firing rate is automatic. That's kinda cursed
In lore they shoot full auto just watch halo wars two end cutscene.
The battle rifle is select fire in the lore
They have an automatic function.
The plasma marks in the wall and tank was great attention to detail
Literally the only halo content creator that does lore accurate plasma scoring. Even 343 and late bungie never did it. You are on an another level, this is amazing.
I’m not even a minute in yet and I love this so much already! The elites forcing the grunts to go on the suicide run and then giving the group a sort of honor salute was dark. I just realized they ran a grunt over in the process too

The recoil from the Fuel Rod Cannon actually throwing that grunt back, the glowing Plasma scoring across the scorpion, that salute that the elites give each other before their brother goes out with a bang, hell even the brutes body language making it seem like it can't believe these idiots are having this much trouble, all those little things really make it feel like its a vicious and bloody street fight in those narrow streets of Old Mombasa, the exact kind of fighting I wanted to see more of as a kid.
Can't wait for more.

Another fun idea for some short animations would be the Marines in halo 2 during quarantine zone, that or the outbreak of flood at voi, and or possibly first contact with tbe covenant at Harvest, just a few fun ideas to throw around

I would like to add a small feedback - it would be amazing if u could replace the Elite suicide bomber with a brute,
according to lore , the brutes were the expendable troops ,sent to break enemy lines
Aw man, this was was my dream back in the Halo 2 days, i was left wanting more, with what i saw at E3, with what was shown in the comics, i really felt empty.
You even added Brutes, knowing that they are canon for Halo 3 ODST, i hope to see a Scarab soon, it doesn't matter if it's the one from Halo 2 or the one from Halo 3, after all there were two Scarabs in Halo 2, even being able to see the second one destroyed in one of the maps.

I really love how you've made incredible use of the Halo 2 assets here. Sure, they look dated by comparison these days, but the use of lighting and effects gives it a whole new look and feel, adding to that style. Well done!
really happy to see you use the original models, since anyone else would've probably just used the remastered models and i personally like the look of the classic ones better.
I love the use of models and classic art style, not for the sake of nostalgia to halo exactly but just because we sleep on classic looking 3d models nowadays
The combination of classic graphics with beautiful lighting and shot composition is just wonderful.
It feels like going back to Halo’s anime inspired roots, like I’m watching Akira.

Halo 2 assets turned modern is utter GENIUS. Awesome job.
I like the realistic lighting being contrasted by the low poly models and textures, it feels nice in a weird way.

That is so cool! I love that you're sticking with the Halo 2 classic/(E3?) graphics instead of reach or H2A like most others seem to do, it gives it a really unique feel!
I love that you used the og halo 2 models instead of the remastered. I always loved the looks of the grunts and elites
This is absolutely amazing. Halo 2 original is my favorite art style in the series, and you made it look amazing, thank you so much
ACOG scope on the lmg was a nice touch. You could also have Marines behind the scorpion tank using it for mobile cover to move up into position.
Plus the spectre probably wouldn't completely disable the scorpion since the engines are in the rear and the rear treads are separate from the front, the tank could probably push itself up the street scaping the ground and still push through a barrier.
I need more of this, you remind me of a guy who made a sick stalker animation
I love the molten-looking scorch marks from the plasma weapons. I'd say they should darken over time as they cool, though. Good stuff!
Honestly, these are far better than your previous animations. Great work! Another example of why better animation is better than better graphics.
Awesome! This is what I always wanted to see when I first heard Halo 2 was coming to Earth - fierce urban combat, as humanity fights to the last, like the chaos and calamity of the Battle of Berlin.
Incredible work, I’d watch these for hours before the new Halo series. So much story telling and there’s not even dialogue.

Mmm maybe a bit, for narrative purpose, but other than that there are pretty much the same from H2 :)

This is really good. I have a note:
The brute driving the shadow doesn't really ....belong? I know ODST Retcons the brutes as being a part of regret's fleet but that's going against everything we read in the books and according to the Bible that is Halo 2 and even the events of Halo 3.
I would have added hunters in the battle somewhere, hopefully they show up.
I really like how dark it is, that the smog of battle makes the whole alley feel more claustrophobic.
I really appreciate the use of just Halo 2 models with a small amount of kitbashing. Halo 2 had the superior designs imo.

It's really nice to see an animation from the mombasa battle, just one detail, you can't really tell what is going on with the action scenes, i get that it should feel like somebody is recording but the movement of the camera shouldnt be so erratic. in some cases should focus on something
i wish they would make another game that shows the earlier part of the battle of new mombasa with elites
