Hello hello I think we'll be able to do some sick paintjobs using this method don't you agree?! Happy Thursday fam! Check out the Amazon Tool List, let me know if you see anything missing or you think I should add ok! www.amazon.com/shop/diecastresurrection 🍻🍻🍗🍗
My best friends family had a 1974 station wagon and that thing was a beast! You could get 12 teenagers into the drive in and had muscle car engine in it! Total land yacht but was the very first car I drove up to 120MPH! Sketchy as heck for sure.
You really undersell and way way way over deliver on each project. That came out incredible, can't wait to see the tiny details you incorporate into future projects.
That came out kinda cool. Back in high school pretty much every wild paint job, flames, candies, metalflake, murals on cars, trucks, vans and bikes were done by the same guy. Well due to an unfortunate, teenager not paying attention, I did some minor damage to the front of my car. Well there was another guy who had a similar car that was done in black with flames, painted by the master in town. The only difference his was a '72 Vega notchback packing a 302 out of a '69 Z/28 and mine was a '72 Vega GT fastback with the 4 banger. Came out real nice. I know a Vega? Well the old man wouldn't let me buy the '67 Camaro I wanted.
THANK YOU for being human and showing mistakes!!! Really makes many of us armatures feel better when we screw up. Really you are an inspiration! Keep up the great work!
i've painted flames on a bunch of real cars and i have to say, great job for a first try at that scale. look forward to seeing you perfect this method.
I’m surprised you didn’t take a vantage of the top, being such a big canvas. A roll of flames would’ve looked awesome on top.Definitely some excellent control on that new gun.
I Loooove me some flames!🔥 Next time, if I may request, add a tough or Red on the tips on the flames? But dam as a practice piece, you did good. Ima have to try it now😄👍🏼
Just a thought, but before pulling the vinyl masques off, maybe throw it the paint booth/oven under the lights to warm up the vinyl and adhesive? Maybe it will come off easier? I don't paint, so just my shiny two pennies here, man. Love what you do, so keep on trucking. :)
I did flames on a custom with hand cut masking tape flames and it was a pain in the ass. Now i got a cricut machine and have to learn how to use it. You flame job was awesome look badass
Good experimental practice run. Nice color combo too. I agree with mapping a new set of flames around the wheel wells. Beats the old days, when I flamed a hot wheel with masking tape cut out with an exacto knife.
Hey Austin, if you're in the market again for an airbrush, checkout the Creos range. Similar quality to Iwata (some internal parts identical) and cheaper. The PS290 is like a mini spray gun has a .5mm tip and comes with a spot and fan tip. For finer work, PS270 .2mm, or PS771 .18mm (both have mac valves on the brush to adjust PSI). Tools: External mac valves between the airbrush and airline connection, not for everyone, are really handy to reduce PSI at the brush end quickly rather than reaching over to the regulator when working. Nice work on the car.
Man, awesome piece about letting the trigger slam forward. I recently had to replace my nozzle in a NEO CN and I could not figured out how the tip got damaged.
That car looks good I like the blacked out wheels and tires set up are spot on with that type of car and the flames actually brings out the old look in the nova
It's good for the scale your working with. Way better than I thought it would look. Your right just tye fenders need to blend in better but it's still a sweet paint job.
The flames came out great! And they will get better as you get some more time in. I honestly liked the way the right side of the car looked a little better than the other side. That sort of gap made it seem like the flames coming off the wheel well were separate from the flames from the hood. Would love to see that Nova wagon get a full on custom job. Thanks for bringing us along for these!
that looks great, you should get into the habit of keeping the finger pressed down on the brush so constent flow of air rather than on & off, this can cause blockages or splatter, pull back to amount of paint you need but keep air passing through. keep up the good work
them flames look darn flamin' good. :) asides the details you mentioned. I also like how they glow against the light blue. :) getting there, I'd say. :) ever thought of making scalloops/scallops/however they are spelled, sorry I forgot... used to see them in the pages of Chrome&Flames back in the 90's. I have some matchbox mercury commuter wagon laying around in red with blue stripes, and it needs a glass insert... now I know where to get one. :P
I've had and used that Power-Fist HVLP gun. The cup cracked right at where the metal nut is, and dumped its contents all over the top of the gun and my hand. Never got a consistent spray out of it either.
I use the eclips brushes at work great little work horses, get roughly 8 months out of em before I have to get new one's. Will have to get one of these handles can see it will make the fine detail work a lot easier.😎
Your new spray gun look pretty much like the Mastercraft one I have. At least the body is the same. I've never used mine by lack of knowledge, it could be great if you do a demo some day.
I bought a preset handle and I love it. Gives me more control for spraying clear and if I want light thin coats if I have my doors hinged and dont want any paint seizing my hinges. I also invested in the .05 nozzle and needle for my eclipse and it make the spray pattern larger but it also empties the cup faster. I have seen there is cup that is like the HVLP cup that fits on the eclipse gravity feed cup and allows you to hold more paint. I have yet to find one
Man that pattern looks good even if you say you need more practice. Also I think my dad had a powerfist as he was a house painter, those things lasted forever and took so much abuse!
I would say you can design a form that can wrap All over the front for a more equal flame Deco. But a form of flame Maping that can wrap Across in one Piece from side to side may make some of the flames work more fluid
I have the harbor freight version of the power fist. For me it has worked just as well as the $100 plus ones with oil based and epoxy paints. Put enough paint through it that it was worth the $35 I spent on it. It has a regulator on it at the air inlet which is why it was a bit more. It did fail me when I tried to use water based clear. I either got orange peel or too much and would run.
as most people have already said, for an experiment, she turned out pretty sweet. but what i want to know is how the heck you went into Princess Auto and come out with only one thing???? even with a list, i still go, ooooohh, i could use one of those, a couple of these and a few of those others, LOL. their surplus section is deadly!!! but 16 canuckaroos for a spray gun is darn good deal!
I am learning here, and came across something called, Bleed Checker, did you use that product for doing the flames, or no? Also I have been learning A lot through your channel on customizing die cast cars, I have been slowly getting into it, just taking baby steps from taking apart cars to stripping the paint off, etc, so just wanted to give some kudos as well and thanks.
Cameo 4 for sure over a cricut. I'm still playing with different vinyls, but anything that says removable is a good start. Most of the generic vinyls on amazon are permanent so watch out.
I knew a guy who’d been using an airbrush since about the time they came out, and he always ran 13-18 PSI.. he did models tho, so 1/23 or 1/24.. what’s your method of cleaning out your brush in between colors? And have you ever just ran one color, didn’t clean, run another etc? I’m curious what type, or if any, fade you’d get..
Also, is there a way to message you regarding having you consult on a restoration of an old Ertl General Lee die-cast? It's missing an A pillar and the roof is slightly smooshed down (explains the missing pillar). Windshield is crusty yellow, but other than the missing pillar, it doesn't look bad for a 40 year old casting. I can provide photos upon request. Believe it or not, it still rolls 😉
Shoot I'm still using spray paint but I've got it to a science my customs turn out really well I think but I need a decal printer and a 3d printer how much would you charge to make me some custom decals in 1/64th scale ?
can you please tell me a few things specifically about createx, around what psi are you using, and how thin are you making it? i have the same gun and a ton of createx but I have the most challenging time using that paint.

You could do some sweet lighting paint jobs with this
“Now we will get the beets from the pantry”, is a spoken line I didn’t expect from an airbrush tutorial.
Lol
"Oh shvt!"
Austin, I've always loved the real time commentary on your videos. 😀 😀 😀
Keep up the great work!
Wow, for an experimental car it looks fantastic!
Two thumbs up for the 1:18 stuff - can't wait!
My Iwata is nearly 40 years old. Still works great.
Now that's the Diecast Resurrection we know and love!
Man, the simmetrical madness didn't even mess with my ocd... it looks mint!
Even for a practice run it looks better than a lot of the non practice cars you see on UA-cam. Good job bud!
Hell man....that baby is sweet. Love it!!!! It is a legit daily driver, little bunged up, hell ya!!!
Great Thursday when a Diecast Resurrection "airs" - Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for the weekend!
(oh, and "first" ;-) )
That came out kinda cool.

Keep your stick on the ice...
Red Green... it took me forever to figure out where I've heard that before...
Awesome as usual homie...
I like the break in flames on the right side, it has taste. Outstanding painting
Put some Diecast Resurrection logos on the doors and instant shop wagon!! Looks great!!!
THANK YOU for being human and showing mistakes!!! Really makes many of us armatures feel better when we screw up. Really you are an inspiration! Keep up the great work!
Man real fires don't have matching flames it's fire man real good job.
i've painted flames on a bunch of real cars and i have to say, great job for a first try at that scale. look forward to seeing you perfect this method.
“Power Fist” literally made me laugh out loud..
Absolutely beautiful flame job, love to know where to get the masks for this, awesome job, cheers KC Tasmania Australia🇦🇺🤝🇺🇸😎👊👍
@@LoNeWoLf6661000 ok got ya thankyou, will have to look at a printer/cutter, cheers 🍻🍺🇦🇺🤝😎🙂👊👍
She looks amazing to me keep doing what you're doing man
That looks friggin awesome. It reminds me of a Rambler American wagon that I painted Ford grabber blue.
Dude.... I see loads of potential with that new airbrush of yours!!! Epic!!!
I was wearing my princess auto hat today lol
Fantastic flame job🔥 Austin, they look crisp for a first atempt , lookin great 👍 👌 😀
i would buy that gasser. i LOVE realistic flames. and on a long roof? perfection!!
I’m surprised you didn’t take a vantage of the top, being such a big canvas. A roll of flames would’ve looked awesome on top.Definitely some excellent control on that new gun.
The flame mask job was just superb!
gotta say your "practice" "test" projects turned out awesome way better than I can do. mind you not airbrushing still. pretty sweet
Its allways cool to see you level up your skills and wow but those flames are spectacular.
Oh, shit. No one likes a dry tip on a power fist.
Great episode!
Really like the air brush tutorial on this upload. Very informative. Thank you!
I Loooove me some flames!🔥
Next time, if I may request, add a tough or Red on the tips on the flames? But dam as a practice piece, you did good. Ima have to try it now😄👍🏼
Noting u are close I am not still looking sweet love it thanks 👍 Lee

looking forward to more flames!
Oh wow, that colour is awesome and the flames turned out pretty cool….nice job dude…..thank you from south africa

Always upping your game ,keep it up . I don't have what they call the painting skills.
I think it looks good. Flames are always cool.
That car looks good I like the blacked out wheels and tires set up are spot on with that type of car and the flames actually brings out the old look in the nova
practice makes perfect, all jokes aside flames are awesome.
Still turned out great! 🤯

I love your videos and I would love if you can make some more videos of making custom kinsmart toys 👍👍👍
Turned out sweet. Yes I can see some wicked opportunity for far out paintwork. Lock the gun up at night or Jimmy will be doing his toenails.
I can't wait for 1/18 stuff
Looks like the Merth Mobil 2.0 Great vid as always
I’m a sucker for a wagon Just about everything I own now has a hatchback lol
them flames look darn flamin' good. :) asides the details you mentioned. I also like how they glow against the light blue. :) getting there, I'd say. :)

Luv ur videos where did u get the tires for your old gasser willys pumpkin and where could I find gasser wheels if u don't know
Lol "Oh Sheeite". 😆 oopsy. Was wondering if you have a preference of a vinyl cutter machine and vinyl paper. Thx. Luv your vids.
Cameo 4 for sure over a cricut. I'm still playing with different vinyls, but anything that says removable is a good start. Most of the generic vinyls on amazon are permanent so watch out.
I just purchased that iwata airbrush and I love it.Ive tryed to figure out which needle size it comes with🤷♂️Do you know which size you use?
The nozzle is 0.35mm on those
