NOTIFICATION SQUAD: To miss Ryotaro’s ridiculous cameo in this video would be a crime.A super volcano, a billion dollar bear, a destroyed castle, horse sashimi and Smurfland; this was easily one of my favourite days from Journey Across Japan due to the sheer variety of amazing things we saw along the way. Any one of those things would be an interesting topic. I can’t believe our journey is almost over though, with just two videos to go!
For those of you wondering how I magically got from Fukuoka to Kumamoto, I did actually film the cycle in between, however during the trip I was fairly ill and as a result the video was pretty dreadful. I’ll reveal clips from it in my post-cycle wrap up video and talk about it a bit more there - it was a tough decision to take it out, but when I’m pouring a week into producing each video, I need to be happy with the content, and in between me coughing and complaining, I felt it wasn’t a day worth sharing.
Thanks again to all of you for being a part of this incredible never-ending journey - enjoy the video and Ryotaro’s cameo! It’s 3:32am and I’m off to bed before I implode.

They don't help me learn much about the country and take away from the interesting experience I will probably never have.
Every time he brings a guest they go eat out at a restaurant and my eyes just roll over and pop out their sockets. It's so frikken boring.

@@1989eol I personally think that the production has that "Made for HD TV" quality but the personalities are much more informal while at the same time being generally informative. Unlike Travel TV which is more informational/sensationalist and is devoid of personal connection with the viewer, Chris's content gives the feeling of personal interaction with the viewer and an informal "the life of me and my friends" feeling in addition to the professional quality production and informative nature. It makes you feel like you, the viewer, are experiencing a tiny bit of what they are experiencing and that's what makes Chris' channel and the work of him and all of his guests remarkable for me.

Just wanna say, Matsumoto castle interior is actually one of the few that I really enjoyed very much and I didn't feel like it was overly renovated. Sure there are exhibits up there but it's all in all a beautiful, wooden structure with the same, sweet narrow stairs you just can't help but stumble on.
Quick rundown on some castles I've visited:
Worst interior-wise was probably Hiroshima, it is literally a modern media library (but content was good and exterior nice).
Osaka is (including exterior) all concrete but has good views.
Nagoya didn't get to see interiors, think they are still closed off, overall nothing too special.
Kanazawa's interior was renovated but with so many buildings, all VERY interesting, and exterior widespread and absolutely fabulous. Also nearby a beautiful garden, probably one of the best I've visited in Japan.
Himeji interior was alright, exterior top notch, but the city is kind of awkward with that central road to the castle blasted with shops, but the streets right behind straight up dead, with only one temple up the road on the right that I really quite liked.
Matsumoto however hit all the marks IMO. Beautiful castle in as best of an historical state as you can get, with the majority of the exhibits in the nearby museum, and there are quite a few nice places throughout the city. Rest of the city is also pretty cool, just perfect for it's size, Matsumoto was probably the city I felt the most comfortable in so far.

I agree that they shouldn't judge other people's eating diets, but it is understandable why one feels disturbed by it.
Unlike cows, pigs, chicken etc, horses are domesticated animals that helps humans in an act of mutualism. It is completely natural to feel disturbed by seeing another person eat an animal that helped you.
Another scenario similar to this is a predator attacking your dog, although the predator is just naturally hunting your dog to survive, it is natural for you to still attack the predator and protect your dog. It isn't about the circle of life but an act of mutualism.
