If I’m shopping for an Offroad truck right now, I would get the TRX, period, point, blank. But I’m waiting for the Raptor R. When I bought my 2019 Raptor, I looked at other trucks and there wasn’t a single competitor. Not one came close to performing Offroad as well as the Raptor. And not one came close to its straight line performance on road. The only negative about the Raptor is the v6 3.5 twin turbo. I’m a big v8 guy. But it still is more capable off roading and on road than the Tundra. I own a 2012 mustang 5.0 and 2019 mustang 5.0 pp1 and they’ve been great. If I put reliability over fun, I would have a Corolla. But there is no fun in that. And the Tundra would not suffice for me. But it’s an amazing looking truck and it sounds great. But don’t fool yourself. It does not compete with the Raptor. @@rdsii64 That’s certainly a contributing factor but there’s still the factor of putting lots of turbo power/pressures into smaller engine and manufacturers not adding upgraded internals to handle that. Manufacturing only has to get 36k miles and 36 months. It will be interesting to see if people get the longevity out of these turbos that Toyota buyers/owners get currently. Thanks for your response
It just needs the technology that the Tacoma's have. That's all. The sales of this tundra will skyrocket and maybe with a better exterior design, toyota might even dominate the US truck market for yeeaarss to come.
Big V-8 and big HP means lower MPG. Don't forget unmatched reliability
Toyota are the most reliable cars in the world . I have a Ram 2016 2500 Hemi engine and is a great realiable truck , but toyotas are other level , their land cruiser series are unbrrabeable , i have witness true brutal bestings to tjese vehicule and they got home like nothing happens , also they endure for a long time , for sure my next truck is gonna be a tundra TRD but the 5.7 , new ones are garbage.
Sounds good to me
Stpp it the relabilty from the worst to best chevy nissan ford dodge tundra
55K vs 75K Raptor
I' ve also beat 2 hemis with my tundra it has plenty of power if you think it's slow then you're. nuts you also need driving lesson
No truck gets good gas milieage there's not that much difference theres enough toys on my TRD. PRO and they all work
Solo we do a review of an off road truck but never leave the asphalt 🤔
Yeah it’s a bummer but this was a press car from Toyota and you have to have special approvals to do stuff like off-roading, track driving, and drag racing
Loving the comments in here. I’ve owned them both. The tundra is not even in the same ballpark as the raptor. The raptor beats it at every single thing except maybe sound
and price, yeah but other than that this isn't a true raptor competitor
Not reliability though.
toyo beats it at price, reliability, resale ,looks for me
The Tundra headlights are kind of awkward shape, not appealing at all. I would not buy anything that is contradict to what I deem as beautiful.
Fair enough! What trucks headlights do you feel are the best?
On next week's episode, "Can the Honda Accord comepete with the Mercedes S Class?"
Didnt have to watch this and the answer is NO.... Lol come on really? Toyota is only good for boring fun reliability. I dont need a truck to out live me, i want a truck that puts a smile on my face = Raptor.
vizi0123 I’m pretty sure the rumble of a v8 + adding a super charger would put a bigger smile on your face than a twin turbo v6. You don’t want your truck outliving you? Guess you’ll enjoy paying for all them repairs then
@@Viper1924 Don't get me wrong, i like the Tundra and if modded it probably would be a fun truck. It just a little outdated for my taste and financially i'm lucky enough to enjoy certain brands that arent as reliable as a Toyota. Gotta have fun man....
This is the stupidest opinion ever... Wants to pay more for less... The asians would tare into you like Michael Douglas did Sharon stone in basic instinct and that's what your brain is.... Basic...
@@locdawg3815 Tare into me?? Lol okay. If you are worry about money than you should just buy "basic" stuff. I have a Raptor and a Porsche. High maintenance vehicles but they make me smile everyday. I heard Kia's are really good for the dollar value, you should check into that. "Basic brain", i cant stop giggling at your comment... Life is good Dawg, how's yours? That's a rhetorical question btw.
Why are Raptor people here?? Seems odd to me....
And where do you get the Raptor being 20k more? I custom ordered my Raptor and it was 67k and some change out the door.

I have a raptor and after two years of dealing with cam phasers and other nonsense, it's time for a toyota. I just wish it looked better because I am certainly not buying the new one as it has a v6tt and... never again. It's actually uglier than this generation, tbh, anyway.
The tundra is a better truck in a lot of wsys
But that MPG!
It’s only $$$$
Ford raptor owners happy because they will go further than the Ram Trx and Tundra will run out of fuel
U do know that the raptors mpgs are still pretty bad, its awesome but its big, wide, tall soooo....
I think the tundra gets better gas mileage than a raptor. Eco boost, power of a V8, gas mileage of a V8, and the sound of a Mini Cooper. Pointless. If you want good gas mileage buy a moped.
@@brandophoto-f3t not true. I had a Raptor, 17 to 18 mpg on 35s, my TRD Pro 2nd tank was 15.8. First tank 14s on stock tires. But Raptor takes premium fuel, so the cost per mile is almost a wash. The Raptor is a better ride, hands down, the tech is better also. It was the reliability that made me trade out of the Raptor for the Tundra. Reliability, that means a lot to me.
This great overlanding rig... with a 1300lb payload and no front/rear locker combo... 🤡🤡🤡
The only truck witth real scroops is the trx so get off it
Functional, sorru
Raptor over this truck any day of the week.
Sure if you want to spend the extra $$$$$$
@@cerny4444 it’s a lot for some not much others. You also have to factor in how much you’d have to spend to modify a stock truck to Raptor level.
@@davemasbutter266 I understand but what I don’t get is why there’s always people making comments on how great the Raptor is etc.?? I wonder why people feel the need to have the Raptor vs Tundra debate on a Tundra video. I don’t click on Ford Ranger or Honda Ridgeline videos and say they are nice but not a Tundra. Seems odd to me and just trying to stir the pot. Thanks for the response and I certainly respect your views.
@@cerny4444 2nd Gen Raptor is an amazing truck. Probably the best pickup I’ve ever owned. The Tundra is good for what it is but it is extremely dated & nowhere near as capable on road or off unless you spend a lot of time & money modifying it. At that point you may void any factory warranties. Raptor gives you a lot of performance & comfort right off of the showroom floor. If you get a chance to buy a lightly used pavement queen at a good price I’d recommend picking it up.
