I feel like they're all *different* versions of Yebba, but please also check out "My Mind", "Evergreen", "Boomerang", and for fun, the version of "Don't Leave Me Lonely" live at Glastonbury with Mark Ronson. You don't have to RECORD all these as reactions - but if you do, I'd watch 'em. 😂
One of my very favorite things is watching people react to Yebba for the first time. I'm a 58 year old Classic Rocker, but since discovering her a few years ago I can't get enough. She's an absolute force of nature- vocal quality, mad skills, songwriting prowess. I'm obsessed.
Welcome to the YebbaSphere! She checks all the boxes, creates her own and checks some you didn’t even know of! I’ll add to the other recommendations, check out her Live at Electric Lady sessions and her live video of October Sky. Enjoy!
ALWAYS and I repeat ALWAYS seek out her live performances for your first reaction. Her lives are just on a whole other world of amazing, her live arrangements are just chefs kiss 💋 🤌🏻
Oh if you loved this, I'd recommend "My mind", "Boomerang" and "Evergreen". Make sure they're all the LIVE performance videos too. She is just AMAZING. So incredibly talented as a songwriter AND definitely as a vocalist.
Love this reaction! The first thing I ever heard her sing is "My Mind" and I've been obsessed with Yebba ever since. So, obviously I suggest you react to "My Mind". I also recommend John Mayer's "Gravity with Clark Beckham:, Evergreen October Sky Boomerang How Much Can a Heart Take with Lucky Daye October Sky And you want the live versions of all these songs.
yessssssss. SO happy to see how much you loved this!! Yebba is my favorite artist by a longshot right now. never been so thoroughly moved & transported to other places by anyone Really grateful to see how much you appreciated every detail from top to bottom - there is so much mastery going on in that room! and the best thing is that they’re pouring all that ability into making you feel something. i’m blown away by all of their prowess but i feel the story & atmosphere ahead of anyone’s ego if you’re willing to hear a tearjerker, i reallly recommend starting from the start with her and rewinding 5 years to her performance of ‘my mind,’ which was basically her first big thing. a really raw performance by a young abbey
I love your insights into the videos you review. I love hearing about the technical expects and what the instrumentalist do in support of the music. Thank you. More great vocalist reviews like Rachelle Ferrell & Yebba.
This singer is blessed, the great ladies of soul music have looked into her cradle, she is unique, vocally, musically, personally I am very touched by everything she offers us, your analysis is very relevant. ❤Bravo YEBBA
thank u sm mark for requesting this ! i luv this tiny desk so much and more people need to know about yebba. i would recommend her song october sky (the acoustic version).
Absolutely loved this entire reaction... fantastic! You might enjoy Lizzy McAlpine's latest album/videos, including "Erase Me", "Reckless Driving", and "Hate To Be Lame" - great engineering, vocals, and writing! She does it all.
For live stuff, check out any of the videos she did at Electric Lady! The production quality was amazing and there'll be a lot of mic stuff for you to oogle at haha

I love this review! She is amazing! The back up singers are fire!!! I play violin and yes it is a lot of muscle memory and practice to sound good ! ❤you got a sub from me
Yebba (Abbey Smith) I forgot to mention that she lost her mom to suicide. That’s why it took 3 years to write her last song. Lot of grief there. Glad you enjoyed her. She has lots of duets and other solo performances.

The vibin’ out to the music, giving an artist their flowers, the sipping of Arizona while vibin’. I’m here for all of it. Lol
Quest love is the drummer and James Francies is on keys and he’s also her writing partner and other things on this album.
Love this reaction! The first thing I ever heard her sing is "My Mind" and I've been obsessed with Yebba ever since. So, obviously I suggest you react to "My Mind". I also recommend

She did a live performance of Boomerang that is unbelievable.
I could listen to this all day long.
Yebba uses 2 different mics on her “Live at Electric Lady” sessions, would love to hear you comment on that. And great reaction video!
If you love her storytelling through song, you must listen to her songs “my mind” and “evergreen”. Both gorgeous and yet so emotional.
Just as you enjoyed the technical aspects of this tiny desk, you'll absolutely love the "Live at Electric Lady' tracks...soul out the wazzu..

“Oh my god! Did you see her sandals? Come on…come on…”
Her live at electric lady EP is amazing! Pino paladino on the bass and Questlove on the drums. You’d love “Louie Bag” from that EP.

react to this video please
Your mic levels are off - really difficult to hear you, especially compared to the audio from Yerba and your intro song
