22:43 I think rather than a better version of Igor, it feels a lot like a "counter argument" in a way. Instead of the whole focus on the narrative of the love triangle, Chromakopia feels a lot freer alternating between the themes, the predominant genres change for each album, etc. Visually there are also a few cues, the green is the negative color of the Igor pink, Igor wears a wig, wears no mask but hides his eyes, while Chroma has natural hair, wears a mask but you can see his eyes, imo these are just so interesting details
this album is 100% the result of mr morale and the big steppers. that album is only going to get better with time as it’s going to start a revolution of honesty in hip hop.
I love balloon so much, it has a beat where it's all sunshine and rainbows next to a bunch of songs with serious topics, especially being the song right after like him. It's so dumb and I love it for that
I loved balloon but I seem to be alone in it, it felt like the peace after the storm that was the album, the reflective sunrise after the darkness that was the last few songs and also the delivery of "he gon eat this pussy up cause he's sweet!" is so unecessarily raw and hard for no reason and I love it
It’s not my favourite but I don’t hate it as much as other people seem to, I think it’s fkin hilarious and the transition from like him to balloon makes me laugh every time. I appreciate it’s instant uplift after such a deep introspective piece with like him
Brad, this is probably the third UA-cam comment I’ve ever posted in idk how long I’ve been on here, but I thought it was important. It’s so nice to see you smiling. Everything I initially loved about this channel - your jokes, your critique of the songs and your disagreements on the philosophy of an artist (e.g., the comment on Darling, I in this video) - is so much better because it seems you’re doing better. You’re just having a good time doing this video and it shows. I’m so happy for you, man. Love your growth over the years. - from India
I loved Balloon. It was disruptive in a good way to how the album was going. Kind of celebration of the self and their current state that is more soulful than the usual ostentation through the affirmation of one's actions, sexuality and the open exhibition of one's own narcissism. A song expressing that despite all of the paranoia, concerns and doubt he has shown in this album, that he's still proud of who he is right now and what he's doing right now. It also reinforces the ideas of "Thought I Was Dead" because im Bubble it affirms how they're confident in their own lives and that they dont need external affirmation to live, only those of their close ones and themselves. "You could be a millionaire and still a bum ass" brings the thought that he knows that money isnt everything in the path of personal accomplishment. "Everything real here" is how he doesn't keep a facade, no closets, nothing to hide and no insecurities he'd be ashamed of showing. ...and while people can doubt that all they want, that he really doesn't care and that he'll keep being who he is, himself, "They're the light". It's an incredibly powerful affirmation and a potent showcase of personal maturity. They're comfortable with who they are right now by their entirely. That they "WON'T STOP" what they're doing right now for something else. Which is very funny, as this album looping on itself can only mean that this state of assuredness is not permanent and will always be spaced by periods of reflexion of the self and the environment around them. Of course, this expression of security in how they are living could also just be a bravado. This song being a distraction from the fragilities Tyler showed us in this album. It could be him putting the mask back on, which leads right away to the beginning of the album. That such a colorful song is in the album themed around sepia probably also has some meaning. Regardless, I just find Bubble very fun and enjoyable. I love the "DON'T STOP" and the piano and how bubbly it feels. It genuinely got me hyped to check out this "Doechii" character.

I find this kind of like Mr morale, because its so personal. Also I think people dont like it so much because they expected just a lot of bangers, which makes it even more similar to mr morale
This argument that people hates an album just because it has no bangers is so flawed. Blonde literally had 0 bangers and it is one of the most streamed albums of all time

I love how the album alternates between heartfelt slow songs and heavy harsh more rap centered songs. Balloon is def a grower and it serves the conclusion for the harsher side of the album, a celebration after everything laid out in like him, like after taking the mask off now the skies are clear
“Wondering if I should keep the light on or if I should gracefully bow out.” Is a triple entendre in my opinion. It’s about his album cycle on the simplest level, on a more personal level it’s about Tyler wondering if he should quit while he’s ahead or if he should keep the lights on and keep making music. On an even more personal and almost Freudian level, Tyler is also opening up about suicidal ideation I believe, which I think can be contextualized by the underlying themes of Tyler’s struggle with loneliness, social anxiety and possibly even being neuroatypical. Deserving of the Funkmasters commendation.
This gotta be my top 3 Tyler albums. Loved everything about it! My top five would have to be: 1. Thought I Was Dead 2. Darling, I 3. Sticky 4. St. Chroma 5. Balloon

That description of Tyler during "Darling, I" is so on point in my eyes. Sure he's not the most amazing singer out there, but not only are the experiences of his songs fantastic, but also his passion sells me. I only recently started listening to his music because a new friend of mine loved this album immediately and I felt like I had to hear it myself, and damn it love it. I had it on as background music while playing R6 Siege and I abandoned my match and got banned just to listen to it without the distraction, I was so hooked I couldn't keep playing 😅
Fire!!! The transition between Rah Tah Tah & Noid reminds me of RM's transition between Nuts & Out of Love on his album Right Place, Wrong Person. I'm here for it! I thought RM's album was best of the year, but Chromakopia is being added to that very short list.
I've been seeing others mentioning RM's Right Place Wrong Person, @BradTasteInMusicOfficial would love to see you do an album review for RPWP or the 6MVs that came out with the project (Groin, Nuts, Lost!, Domodachi, Come Back to Me and Credit Roll). The whole album top to bottom is fire!

Personally Sticky is my least favourite song on the album by far. I really like most of the second half but that first minute with just the whistling i find really annoying
