It is even more dangerous when you are working at the belt drive. If you get your finger between the belt and a pulley that finger is gone.
If correctly wired a remote start will never work with the hood open.

3:52 you notice the temp gauge spike but not the coolant on the ground for the last at least week? Those 3.5 Duratecs may be known for water pump failures killing engines, but they have a weep hole specifically put there for you to know it needs to be replaced. coolant gets past first water pump seal, starts leaking out onto ground. That's your warning that the 2nd seal will fail soon and you need to get that pump replaced

2:08 FYI test this yourself, but on my fake jeep I can press the remote start AGAIN twice and it will turn OFF the car. This does NOT work if the car was started using the ignition, but if using the FOB it will turn back off. This should apply to other chysler/fiat/dodge products as well with remote start since they are all about the same, but it's a good thing to test.

That waterpump with the impeller loose is a common problem with the Peugeot/Citroen 2.0 and 2.2 HDI diesel engines.
Some sleepy head engineer thought it would be ok to crimp a plastic impeller on a steel shaft.
The problem mostly surfaces in the large vans, Peugeot Boxer, Citroen Jumper/Relay but also happens to these same engines in passenger cars.
And recently it happened to a 1.6 HDI as well.

In it's first 10 years, the fuel tank fell out of it once, and on two occasions the brake lines failed catastrophically. (the Cummins had a failure too, shortly beyond the 100K warranty, but I can't really hold Dodge accountable for that, other than them ignoring my complaints of low oil pressure indication years prior)

I can’t speak for any other makes but factory-installed remote start systems on GM vehicles won’t crank the starter if the hood, any of the doors or even the deck lid isn’t completely latched and regular start, by key or dash button, won’t work unless you have the brake pedal pressed. I assume clutch, too on models with manual transmissions. Failsafes out the wazoo. Could make diagnosing a no-crank a pain in the butt, too.
