Hey there Ksk I was just curious about this thing from a long time at 4:30 when you did neofetch the clock speed showed 4.280 GHz but by default in my case when I do it on pop or any distro it shows my clock speed like for R5 4600H it shows 3.00GHz.
Don't trust neofetch it shows the max boost frequency that CPU can go. use LSCPU command and see the clock speeds.
How STABLE is it so far? I thought it was just in the alpha before BETA stage... or is that just the full program and not the desktop?? LOOKS good I'll try it- THANKS.
It's usable and manageable but not perfect.
@@kskroyaltech I've got POP re-installed now-- ready to put the DE on it.. :) ( I have 4 distros now multibooted- including pop.. (ARTIX with kde6 on x11 and it works perfectly-- on wayland it doesn't), MX, kde- and Spiral gnome !! ( I'm trying to get use to gnome in case they remove my tiling completely.. :)
Is there a way to revert back
Just installed it and I can't pin apps to the dock or on the desktop. It's slow and buggy. I also try to launch apps from the Application window and they don't run. Try rebooting and still not stable.
It is currently in pre-alpha stage, hence not recommended for daily use.
@@LinuxDecoded Yeah, I installed Mint and it's working great. Have an old laptop that was laggy with Win10 but it's running smooth on Mint. This is a spare laptop intended for media streaming.

that's subjective and just a opinion, and mine is that it looks pretty good and it will get better.
You can customise it if you like .. it can be make look very polished.
Yes it may take some time. The team also quoted when 24.04 LTS is out then they will start making it perfect.

It looks like it is going to be the less light desktop you can choose from. About 1.4 gb of ram, Just for running htop.

Unless your machine has 2gb of ram, idle memory use is irrelevant. Unused ram is wasted ram and it won't matter once you actually start using any software

Yes it wont work on VBOX. I had the same issue don't why. Try bare metal.

@@michaelmcdonald3275 Neither of them are packaging COSMIC, and Pop repositories are not compatible with either.

Reboot doesnt need sudo
And for security reasons you should use "sudoedit" instead of "sudo nano"
You also dont need to reboot to enable cosmic greeter, a simple logout should be enough
I got used to SUDO a lot with reboot. Yes you are correct about logout
