Awesome, thanks for the video! Are there any options for HubSpot forms to prevent spam form submissions other than the regular ReCaptcha fields? For example simple custome math captchas? Does HubSpot support something like this?
Currently there are no advanced options from HubSpot's native forms. You could look into custom coding a solution but it would not be HubSpot supported.
I usually upload an Excel spreadsheet each time I send a new email. I have to manually set it as marketing contacts. However, when I upload a new list and try to set it as marketing contacts, it shows that I'm exceeding the limit. The new list only has 4-5 new contacts, while the rest are the same as the old list. Why doesn’t HubSpot recognize the contacts that are already in the system and marked as marketing contacts? How can I resolve this issue?
Can I set the previous 10k Marketing Contacts as non Marketing Contacts, and after select and set a New List as Marketing Contacts? How do I do that in bulk? And if it's possible, do I have to wait next billing cicle ( from what I understood it's the next beginning of the month) to create an automated email for all of them or I can simply send it Manually? Please advise!
Hi there, thanks for checking out HubSpot Hacks! You can do this in bulk through lists or through workflows. You do have to wait for the next billing cycle for your marketing contacts to change to non-marketing contacts, but when you set a contact as marketing you can email them right away. It's important to remember that if you set your marketing contacts as non-marketing and then set a new list as marketing, BOTH sets will count towards your bill for that billing cycle. I hope this helps!
Good question John. You could use a workflow to do this, but you probably want to ask the question of "what is defined as an 'active' contact"? HubSpot automatically creates unengaged contacts based on their parameters (usually 13 or so emails without opens) so that happens on a rolling basis. Many companies choose to address unengaged contacts with a nurture campaign first before giving them the final boot, but then once the try that if they're still unengaged you change them to non-marketing. It would also depend on if you have starter, pro or enterprise, as starter will not allow you to do this with a workflow, so you may just want to set up an active list that surfaces that information for you.

Is there any advantage to have the contact set as Marketing Contact? I just have to to email the contact, right?
Hi David, great question! Marketing contacts can also be used to build audiences in the ads tool. Thanks for checking out HubSpot Hacks!
How can you automatically make marketing contacts into non-marketing contacts after 365 days if they are not active contacts?
