Thanks. I'm always gratified to hear a youtuber who actually discloses that he's going to lube the cylinders prior to attempting to start a car that has been sitting for years. Good job
Pontiac Lemans 64' uno de los autos más lindos del mundo púes tiene él diseño completo de lo que deve tener un auto , Diseño, belleza, calidad, cien por ciento diseño. . Felicidades. .....
Looks like it will make a great restoration car. After a little work . Carburetor rebuild. New fuel tank. You got a daily driver. Thank you for sharing!
What! OMG! I want that LeMans! My parents had one for years when I was a little kid! Brings back such fond memories. You weren’t kidding when you referred to it as a gem! BTW, call me crazy, but I love that little straight six. Ours ran forever! Nice video! Thanks for making me smile.
Haters, gotta love’em , takes time and money to get those old classics running right after sitting for years. Another great video keep up the good work 👍👍
My grandfather bought a new red 1964 lemans with the spinner hubcaps and a 215 cu. in. six when l was in high school. When l got to drive it l drove the wheels off it. It would do 105mph on the gravel and 115 on the highway. Once he let me take it to homecoming but he hand the oil changed and filled the gas tank first, which l didn't realize. The next day he informed me the oil was black and l had gotten 9 mpg. I once passed a car in the middle of an s curve doing 100 mph on a narrow highway with rounded curbs south of Indianola Iowa. The next year a classmate rolled his 64 V8 Lemans in the same S curve. The 6 cyl Lemans was a better handling car without the heavier V8 upfront. l remember that car fondly but whished he had bought a GTO but if he had l probably would not be alive today.
i would find a 389 Pontiac try power and drop in it with a 4sp but leave it just the way it looks may be some factory stock wheels with Pontiac dog dish hub caps !!! bad XXX sleeper!!!
Secrets to a UA-cam first start. Do not wash the car first. Leave it cruddy. Don't put enough gas in the carb to start it. Don't use the throttle while trying to start it. To build the drama, crank on it a while before finally giving it enough gas to start. Don't clean the carb so it will constantly stall.
The thing runs like a bag instead of getting it running better you drive it around the block. I guess your lucky the traffic is not high there or you would of annoyed people with the broke down car syndrome I guess next time get the car to run better before road tripping around the neighbourhood. you will have lots of time to drive it when it runs better

You know it, I would rather spend a little extra time pulling spark plugs than pulling pistons to replace rings.

I honestly think it's just bad gas I put in there as well. Either way I would like to install a 2bbl carb.

Great story and great car. I see what you mean about the handling, its really something. Cheers!
what a find! condolences
The blue trim matches your sunglasses
Really like to see you drive it home, some maintenance and a little luck, should probably take it easy too, you'll really get the feel of it that way
I would have loved to drive it home but I don't have enough vacation from work. Perhaps later.
Nice..
Please leave it as a Lemans; not another GTO clone. I love it ; put stock wheels, new tires, restore dash, mechanically restore and drive it.
You read my mind.
I like the lema
Gotta put one of them galldarned LS in it!!!!
Unfortunately it is a 230 inline 6, the OHC six was 66-67 as a 230, 68-69 as a 250
Sweet find!
I'm very interested if you want to flip.

Not at this time, I am really enjoying the car and hope to continue fixing it up and driving it. Cheers!
@@MaxAC I look forward to the updates,thanxs!
Where did you buy it?
Phoenix
Sell me the caddy!
Ok but you have to go pick up both and deliver them.

Most people already suspect it has a 389 in it so I wouldn't fool anyone.
@@MaxAC ya but thats the fun of owning a car like that
Taillights have date stamped in them
Thanks for the info. I did not know that.
Wont tell you much. If they ran the same lenses from 62 to 65 (or whatever) then the lenses will only say 62

And then you popped the hood to reveal the Down Fall, a 6 banger. You lost me.
Well as soon as I blow it up it will get a V8
At least it’ll get good gas mileage.
chev didn't make a 215 they made a 216
I knew it was something close. Thanks.
@@MaxAC In 1964 they were 235's
@@michaelmoore1640 I had a 235 in my first car 60 Biscayne.
Hey…do u know anything about car engines? I’m guessing not
Thanks for the comment. Cheers!
Great looking car, ugly wheels.
Thanks, yes the wheels will be the first to go.
