That cinema experience and especially the prominent placement of talent and production names in the beginning of MGS2… it impressioned ten year me well. These names have stuck with me, as has the drama of good theater like MGS. Everyone cites that cinematic experience and the title cards of the introduction sequence… it’s super enjoyable to watch, and it has always been influential to aspiring talent and to fans both. Imagine being reduced to a ten minute roll of white-on-black text and fifteen hundred names. I am an appreciator psychology. I’ve liked to watch credit sequences and learn names. But eh… “HARRY GREGSON-WILLIAMS. SO TOYOTA. VANESSA MARSHALL.” Imagine those slightly transparent white text credits over a green color-graded film, with rain and this slow motion effect coming and going. It’s a real sense of weight and intensity. I love it.
Awesome, was looking for this panel! Glad to see it's here.
