My grandfather was a German Sanitäter in ww2. He told me many stories. When a soldier got hit, he, most of the time, just injected something (I forgot what) into the wound, then covered the wound and carried the soldier to the next medical tent. But he was also wounded many time while being on the front, especially as a medic. He got hit by granades many times and once shot by a tracer ammunition into the chest, but survived because the bullet was stopped by his singing book and Russian dictionary. He's now 96 years old and still in good condition.

I know it is a joke but you are not protected by the Geneva if you are actively engaging enemy troops even as medic. The directive by the German army that said medics were combatants removed the protections by the Geneva convention. See the clause: Medics and other non combatent personal shall be respected and protected if they are carrying out these duties at the time when they come into contact with the enemy or fall into his hands. This means that in the case they are NOT carrying out the duties of medication and firing upon enemy soldiers they are fair game 😬😬😬
*In real life:* Soldier: “Help me, I’m down.” Medic: “Hang on, soldier. You’re not going to die today.” *In a FPS (and yes this included Battlefield)* Soldier: “Help me, I’m down” Medic: *ran passed a downed soldier* Soldier: “Wait, where are you going? I’m about to die, god damn it.”
Note: Just because the Geneva Convention has protected medic, and anyone who has killed the medic is labelled as a war criminal (except accidental). Doesn't mean it'll apply to TF2
Imagine seeing this, a Sanitäter grabs a saw, a modified MP-40 that shoots syringes, and a strange looking gun that was made to heal people... Then he charges a guy with an MG-42.
But this video is clearly about German medics being targeted purposely despite it being a war crime. So why say Japanese? When it's American and Russian soldiers that their talking about? Never mind I know why. Typical on every UA-cam comments section.

"Medics were protected by the Geneva convention."
USSR: "You mean the Geneva suggestions."

War doesn’t determine who’s right, only who’s left.
well germans didn't follow geneva convention for the eastern front, surprisingly stalin even confronted them about it... and Hitler basically ignored them
@@negvey Catch is that convention forbids arming medical personnel, so by giving their medics pistols, Germans made them targets.

Quite literally
I know it is a joke but you are not protected by the Geneva if you are actively engaging enemy troops even as medic. The directive by the German army that said medics were combatants removed the protections by the Geneva convention.
See the clause:
Medics and other non combatent personal shall be respected and protected if they are carrying out these duties at the time when they come into contact with the enemy or fall into his hands. This means that in the case they are NOT carrying out the duties of medication and firing upon enemy soldiers they are fair game 😬😬😬
