Just invested in the rail adventures model ,I love its uniqueness far cry from the intercity 125 set I got for Christmas 1977 when I was 10 ,but then the novelty of headlights was great especially at night ,I’m old enough to remember the original blue Pullman albeit in the silver grey/blue going pass Ladbroke Grove in my dads lorry ,being a west London lad all the best Mark 🎅🏼🎄
Do the rail adventure power cars have couplings of any sort on the nose ends as if they don’t then the models can’t be used prototypically. I was going to get the rail adventure pack however because of the uncertainty about the model having couplings on the nose ends I didn’t bother in the end. They definitely are a very unique set. All the best to you 👍
@@fyfieldjunction it’s on order my friend so not arrived yet ,but I could say it’s on test ,so the prototype for everything department kicks in or that thing we called modellers licence hehe 😊😂cheers Mark
Thanks for watching mate. Dare I say it but I think there quality has improved slightly recently. That’s just from my experience anyway. Have a good Christmas mate 👍
Great review, I want to get this Pullman hst pack, I’m glad you sorted the fan issue out, I hope Hornby have lighting in their Pullman coaches like the Bachmann Midland Pullman set.
No problem mate. Definitely don’t want to go blowing a decoder. From my experience with this model it was only gonna happen if the fan was left running for too long or if the fan speed was set too high. Thanks for watching 👍
Enjoy part 2 also. Received my set yesterday. All I have done is run it in, fitted two decoders and Hunt couplings. Need to get higher function decoders to operate the fans. Interesting to note your problem with the fans and how you were able correct. In terms of price Hornby may be paying a fee to Locomotive Services for use of the livery.
Excellent video and very informative. Waiting for mine to arrive! Expensive models , I shant buy anymore HST's after this one. Glad they have gone to 21 pin. I imagine a new sounds tts will be coming soon
I’m hoping Hornby announce some 21pin TTS decoders next yeah. Will be good to have them. I can’t even begin to imagine how expensive a new TTS hst would be
Mine ran fine under dcc testing once I fitted the 21 pin decoders no working fans. I’ve given up and waiting on a response from Hornby. How did you manage to get yours to work on dcc?
Hi mate. The new HSTs require 6 function decoders in order for you to be able to use the fans and all the lighting functions. I recommend the dapol imperium decoders
@@fyfieldjunction I’ve got two Dapol Imperium 8 function decoders which were installed. Still no working fans after trying F3 or 23 as per the Hornby instructions. Thanks for getting back to me. :) I’ll see what Hornby comes back with.,

Great video, it does worry me so many people have quality control complaints regarding Hornby Merry Christmas

Hope your enjoying your set. I think people do forget some times that you can’t just whip up a model and slap a livery on it for free.
15:47, good lord what is that coupler distance, model does look good though, shame about the faulty fans!

@@fyfieldjunction knowing Mr K's driving prices up it won't be cheap!
Second hand prices for TTS decoders are starting to get ridiculous enough
Very nicely done Hornby have issues unfortunately. But still a good model enjoyed your video have a great Christmas cheers al 🎄🚂👍🤗☃️🎅
