Holy fuck, coming back to this so many years later and it hits so different No one has commented for two years Jeremy it’s wild I’ve been here for nearly a decade and just want to let you know I appreciate you
After watching a couple of your videos I have to say, you have earned a subscriber! I love your honest opinion-based review type. Instead of giving games plain out ratings, you just tell your thoughts and describe everything. You don't sound like a critic you sound like an actual gamer. I especially like how your reviews sound like how a bunch of gamer buddies would after just finishing a game. Keep it up!
Thanks for reviewing this trailer. It's the best video game trailer I've ever seen. Truly cinematic. I was one of those people who commented on your The Wolverine trailer review and requested that you review this trailer, and it's awesome to know that you listen to all of us that comment on your videos. Look forward to your Monday video on David Hayter.
so wait, first you see Big Boss get an eyepatch, then you see him get a hook for a hand, this franchise is slowly becoming Big Boss's transformation into a pirate, love it
It's amazing that you can piece together what the video was trying to give MGS fans. I don't even understand the whole thing when I this video. Now kinda made sense, thanks Jeremy.
Yeah I also considered that too. The "V has come to" line I thought may be referring to the 5th Snake in the series but I honestly don't know. Considering Kojima said that this takes place 9 years after ground zeroes which is immediately after peace walker kinda removes this possibility though.
in an interview...referring to the "What about him" line, Kojima literally said, "Thats actually me, Hideo Kojima"...he also said the thing on Big Boss's head is just a mesh of shrapnel and bone fragments from the attack on mother base
I really love it when they do that thing that changes all of them from this to that, and has them follow the others from that one place to that other place, then all of them come together and cast that one spell that does that all that crazy stuff, ya know?
This is why Jeremy is the best, he listens to his fans... On the MGS 5 trailer, there is a couple of theories I've heard that explain the horn thingy on his forehead. In short, since the timeline is getting closer to the first metal gear, Big Boss is starting to show cracks on his psyche so in this game we'll see him become the villain Solid Snake fights in the original Metal Gear. That would also explain the visions of fiery figures... Still, I'm sad David Hayter won't return for this one...
Jeremy did you get Metal Gear Rising and beat it? You get to use Gray Fox's armor and the FOX Blade if you pre-ordered and it's awesome! Plus Japan is getting something called the "Snake" Blade which I'm hoping the US can get soon.
Jeremy, it's looking like this is a split time game. Some takes place around Peace Walkers, and some takes place post-MGS4. A lot of leads are pointing at like 1985 which is post-Peace Walker/Pre-Shadow Moses.
I think Phantom Pain being a new Metal Gear Solid game is the least surprising thing about that trailer. It was cool to see Mother Base burn to the ocean floor. I'm curious if we'll get a chance to see Null again. That would be pretty cool.
I am incredibly excited. They release a five minute trailer that shows some serious shit happening (Mother Base going down, Big Boss is in a coma, that's just about all they tell us) but there's so much speculation and so many great theories about what this game is about. Looks like PTSD is a part of the game and with Big Boss's friends dying in the Mother Base assault, I'm interested in this game's depiction of war. All I can say is that Kojima's a genius and this game feels like a big deal.
Well from what I've heard and found out and from speculation Ground Zero might lead into Phantom Pain so I'm guessing that at the end of Ground Zero is when Boss gets messed up and put into the coma and we continue the story in Phantom Pain. Which would be pretty unique way of doing things. Although I got to ask..."turn a blind eye" while talking about Big Boss was that pun intentional or accidental lol.
Regarding David Hayter, I believe they threw that out the window when they brought in Big Boss at the end of MGS4. Obviously, they had to use two different voices for Snake and Big Boss, so I believe they are sticking with that from now on. Who knows? Maybe it means we'll get to see Solid Snake again im the future? More speculation
Here's my speculation on my David Hayter wasn't called back to voice the main character. The reason might be that the game is not going to be about Solid Snake. It's going to be about Big Boss who had a different voice actor at the end of MGS4. Their two completely different characters, it just so happens that their clones of each other. (Correct me if I'm wrong on that one, it's been a while since I delved into Metal Gear lore.)
Actually, Kojima already confirmed that it was himself personally that Miller was asking about. He mentioned in in a gametrailers interview. Not sure if that scene will be included in the actual game though, it might remain a trailer exclusive unless Kojima has some sort of plan up his sleeve.
I hope I get a reply, but I really wanna get into metal gear, but where do I start? I have a 360, so I should get the hd collection, right? Sad thing is, I already know the ending to MGS4. I love stealth games, so before the release of 5, I wanna get the story and play the series myself.
I was throughly confused with the gameplay footage, but uber super serial excited for more mgs... Also this game was announced for current hardware which is even more unbelievable
Pretty much spot on. As for the GZ/PP/MGS V, it pretty much looks like Kojima's usual awesomtacularness and I'm very excited. The only thing I can possibly complain about is the David Hayter ordeal. I'll save my griping for Jeremy's video on that.
Great video Jeremy! I am very excited for this game as well, even though I missed peace walker. By the way, I strongly urge you to review Bioshock Infinite. It is amazing, and since you like a good story and a game that actually leaves you thinking after the end, you´ll love it.
Snake is like a snapshot of BB when he was young. Ergo snake is 'stuck in time' and is rotting because he's a clone, while BB got to grow up fully and can age properly. People change their voices over time (maybe not that drastically, but still). I think this game is the perfect division between who John (BB) is and who David (snake) never got to be.
kojima said interview that the thing sticking out of his head was shrapnel mixed with bones, that got stuck to his skull, also he said that there's not that much supernatural stuff in the game, so all that flaming stuff is probably due to the injection he gets at the beginning of the phantom pain. im just excited that we are getting two mgs games both of them open world.
The timeline is still correct, I had to read up on it on metal gear wiki. Afraid of losing Big Boss, Zero planned to finish up a secret project called Les Enfants Terribles. In 1972, Big Boss had fallen into a coma from battle. Genes were extracted from him to make genetically enhanced soldiers. Solid Snake, Liquid Snake, and later Solidus Snake were produced in this program and were c After this peace walker happens then MSF gets destroyed (2nd coma)
I'm pretty sure Big Boss wasn't aware of Les Enfant Terrible until an unspecified amount of years later anyway, but I'm sure this game will explain plenty. The big thing I felt after watching the trailer is that this might be a game to set up a remake of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 in a couple years.
Holy shit, i never even noticed the horn before. Honestly i'm looking forward to this game. I just hope Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes aren't separate games. That would be hell on my wallet, and i don't really see the point in doing that considering they both seem to have the same premise. Fox engine looks astonishing. Despite the ps3 being 6 years old it's still pushing strong. I also have to thank the makers of that trailer for helping me discover the band Garbage. They're awesome.
Hey, Jeremy. The horn on Big Boss at the end of trailer might be a cutaneous horn. Exposure to radiation can trigger the condition. It's a real thing. Look it up.
@JeremyJahns I really don't think this is when LET happens. In Peace Walker Miller already mentions them. He askes Cipher (Zero): "What about the sons? ... Two already?" So yeah, he is referring to Solid and Liquid. They're already born in 1974.
I wanna meet you and Jeremy! I love your channel! :)

I couldn't be more excited, 5 years since MGS4 and like 3 since Peace Walker... yeah it was about time, and, by the way, this is going to be an open world game, thats right, open world metal gear solid... Kojima is going to blow my mind in so many levels with this game!
Well, ever since mgs4 i never meant to play another mgs because the series was over for me. Such a high note to end everything that anything more would be unnecessary. Never played peace walker, never intended to but i'm intrigued by The Phantom Pain. I guess i'll become just a casual fan. Btw, it wasn't Ouer Heaven that exploded it was Mother Base.
Yes my thought is that this coma is the one from which Solidus was cloned, as he was done so with a more advanced, pure cloning method. Solid and Liquid were created in '72. Seems a bit convoluted, but its mgs
Please review BioShock Infinite! It is the best game I have ever played in my life and there is so many things to talk about. It is really complex and would make for a great video.
I'm pretty sure David Hayter will pop out somewhere along the game. -here comes the spoiler- Maybe we'll see the young Snake joining the army and then picked by Big Boss to Foxhound. Like MGS4, it would be awkward to see both guys have the same voice so Big Boss is not voiced by Hayter. We're talking about Hideo Kojima, expect anything.
I can't wait for this game! I'm a huge Metal Gear fan, but the fact that David Hayter won't be playing Snake/Big Boss anymore really, really saddens me. The franchise will never be the same without him. David Hayter IS Snake, and he always will be for me.
Sweet, new MGS game. Here's my question, if Phantom Pain is MGS5, what's Ground Zero going to be called? Just MGS Ground Zero? MGS6 Ground Zero? I'm not sure. Anyway, I agree Jeremy. If the developers can make a game great, I'll turn a blind eye to continuity because it's just so much fun to play. That being said I think this will some how fit into the timeline. Though they may have to alter some things a tiny bit to squeeze it in.
you did MGS 1 through 4, looked at the trailer for MGS 5, and you still never got to metal gear rising revengeance? I would think that since you did all that you would've reviewed or at least mentioned the game in one of your related videos
I don't think they'll mess the continuity. If you notice the one who helps Big Boss in the hospital is voiced by Keifer Sutherland, which later you discover plays the new Snake voice, meaning that her might be another clone or someone who posed as him. I doubt Kojima would allow a continuity error like that. With that said, the damned games better come out to PC or I'll just watch online and they won't get money from me (bought every game with the exception of wii remake of the first).
In an interview with Kojima and Gametrailers, Kojima said that the other guy in the ER room next to Snake was actually himself. He said that it meant his character / creations are asking about him, and what he's been upto in these recent years.
I'm not a big gamer and I know pretty much nothing about Metal Gear Solid, but decided to watch this video anyway, because I find Jeremy Jahns extremely entertaining and humorous.... I think I understood a total of about 5 entire sentences in this video...
JEREMY, NO! They're not saying Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain are separate games. Quite the contrary, Hideo stated in an interview conducted by GT that the Ground Zeroes is a like prologue to the Phantom Pain and together they comprise whole game which is MGSV (with a roman numeral V, yes).
Ground Zeroes is like the Tanker Chapter or Virtuous Mission, though it appears it'll be released separate like how there was a prologue to Dead Rising 2.
Solid and Liquid were BORN in 1972, so that means Les Enfant Terribles project started and succeed before the peace walker event(1974). By the end of peace walker, both Solid and Liquid were already 2 years old. Which means Big Boss had been in a coma once between portable ops(1970) and peace walker(1974), but we don't know how. The 9 year coma in MGS5 was probably used to create Solidus.
Solid Snake is a clone of Big Boss, well, a 'son' if you will. Big Boss in his prime had been codenamed 'Naked Snake', so he was at one point 'Snake'. This was in MGS 3. But then at the end of the game you see how he gets the codename Big Boss. Worth the play, honestly you will love the SHIT out of that game.
Actually since we live in a age where the Internet has made it's way to consoles and we can buy and download games of the internet i think what they mean is that Ground Zeroes is a game you download as a prologue some time before the release of the main game.
Interesting to see the shot of Big Boss on the motorcycle with the shrapnel, knowing the true ending
After watching the ending to the phantom pain its crazy to see the trailer again and find that it actually hints towards what happens.
2:25 He called it
4:08 He kinda called it
Álvaro Benarroch Rivero oh yeah and we all didn't see it coming 😂😂😂
So fucking brilliant
Holy fuck, coming back to this so many years later and it hits so different
No one has commented for two years
Jeremy it’s wild I’ve been here for nearly a decade and just want to let you know I appreciate you
Kaz had a horrific childhood accident in which the sunglasses were grafted into his skin and became a part of him
He takes his glasses off in mgsv
it's fun knowing the ending and watching this.
OMG THE KAZ IMPERSSONATION HAHAHAHA

Jeremy you got me started on the Metal gear solid so thank u. Ps I love your videos
When Jeremy says "don't you die on me dammit", it reminded me of Tristan from Yugioh Abridged.
Ground zeroes really just was a fundraiser for konami
Thanks for reviewing this trailer. It's the best video game trailer I've ever seen. Truly cinematic. I was one of those people who commented on your The Wolverine trailer review and requested that you review this trailer, and it's awesome to know that you listen to all of us that comment on your videos. "Dont you die on me dammit!" Haha
"They played us like a damn fiddle!!!"
It's actually crazy how much Jeremy got right
it's funny in the operation room the 1st camera person is Hedio Kojima
Whenever I hear there's MGS News I immediately come to your channel Jeremy. Finally, another huge fan...
DUDE..like, review Peace Walker

Seeing outer heaven burn to the ground will give you some extreme feels if you played peace walkers
Much feels
so wait, first you see Big Boss get an eyepatch, then you see him get a hook for a hand, this franchise is slowly becoming Big Boss's transformation into a pirate, love it
"talking shit, speculate and porn" = the purpose of the internet...

Jeremy somehow your psychic but your called it more or less correctly on what you said 2:30
It's amazing that you can piece together what the video was trying to give MGS fans. I don't even understand the whole thing when I this video. Now kinda made sense, thanks Jeremy.
Why wouldn't you count Metal Gear 1 & 2?
+Christopher Keene cuz they suck ass
+Flawless9183 no they dont
Yeah, it's not like Metal Gear Solid references crucial plot tools for big boss or grey fox from those games or anything.
they may have that but the gameplay still sucks
+Flawless9183 Are you 10? they're really fun
Awesome review as always!!! Can't wait for it to come out, about to play Metal gear solid 4 again.
Did you now?
Phantom pains out now. I assume you're still playing it. Can't wait to watch your review of this amazing masterpiece
Also as a MGS fan, i am really enjoying these videos ! Awesome Jeremy!
Yeah I also considered that too. The "V has come to" line I thought may be referring to the 5th Snake in the series but I honestly don't know. Considering Kojima said that this takes place 9 years after ground zeroes which is immediately after peace walker kinda removes this possibility though.

Hi Jeremy
Good review, I have seen this trailer. I must say it is REALLY suspenseful.
Regards
Gerann
Dude, you know your Metal Gear and you give fair reviews. I myself am a huge MGS fan, and you just got another subscriber.
I really love it when they do that thing that changes all of them from this to that, and has them follow the others from that one place to that other place, then all of them come together and cast that one spell that does that all that crazy stuff, ya know?
Jeremy... Your videos are simply best!! Sincerely from Finland :)
hey jeremy are you going to do a trailer review for the E3 2015 trailer?
This is why Jeremy is the best, he listens to his fans... On the MGS 5 trailer, there is a couple of theories I've heard that explain the horn thingy on his forehead. Jeremy Jahns, I am so happy you made this.
Well done man soooo freaking excited for this next chapter I still have peace walker left and I'm gonna finish it today!
It's about time you've made this!!!!!!!! :D
Jeremy did you get Metal Gear Rising and beat it? You get to use Gray Fox's armor and the FOX Blade if you pre-ordered and it's awesome! Plus Japan is getting something called the "Snake" Blade which I'm hoping the US can get soon.
I think ya meant to say Fable instead of Mass Effect, Jeremy.
Awesome speculative video though, can't wait for this to come out !
In Mass Effect 2 you look creepy of you mostly go Renegade. I don't think Jeremy has an Xbox so he probably hasn't played Fable.
Jeremy, it's looking like this is a split time game. Some takes place around Peace Walkers, and some takes place post-MGS4. A lot of leads are pointing at like 1985 which is post-Peace Walker/Pre-Shadow Moses.
"Talking shit, speculating and porn. That's the purpose of the internet."
That qoute will go on for generations.
Jeremy, where is your video about David Hayter you announced? :P
Bioshock Infinite Please. I want to see your take on the story and the ending.
I think Phantom Pain being a new Metal Gear Solid game is the least surprising thing about that trailer. It was cool to see Mother Base burn to the ocean floor. I'm curious if we'll get a chance to see Null again. That would be pretty cool.
I didn't notice that hunk of metal on his before. Thanks for pointing that out
Really good foresight there Jeremy. XD
I am incredibly excited. They release a five minute trailer that shows some serious shit happening (Mother Base going down, Big Boss is in a coma, that's just about all they tell us) but there's so much speculation and so many great theories about what this game is about. Dude, you should totally do all Metal Gear Solid Lore, leading up to game 5!! :)
Can't wait for the vid on Monday !
Regarding David Hayter, I believe they threw that out the window when they brought in Big Boss at the end of MGS4. Obviously, they had to use two different voices for Snake and Big Boss, so I believe they are sticking with that from now on. Who knows? Jeremy are you going to VidCon this year? I'd love to meet you!
Here's my speculation on my David Hayter wasn't called back to voice the main character. The reason might be that the game is not going to be about Solid Snake. It's going to be about Big Boss who had a different voice actor at the end of MGS4.

JJ has updated this vid with annotations correcting himself awesome.
Been waiting for this video since the trailer came out.
I'm a Big Metal Gear Solid fan & I can't wait for this! Hopefully it won't be another 2 or 3 years before we get our hands on it.
I was throughly confused with the gameplay footage, but uber super serial excited for more mgs... Also this game was announced for current hardware which is even more unbelievable
Hey Jeremy, when they aired a Teaser for this at last years Spike VGAs, H it was billed as a Hideo Kojima title and had the Fox logo
Agreed. If you're a fan of the metal gear series Jeremy Jahns you should review this game as well.

did you ever play the very first mgs? the one for psx? it ten dollars on the psn

Can you please review Dr. Horrible and Princess Bride!? I would love to hear your take on these classics. :D
Jeremy, PLEASE make a video on your thoughts of a new PS4...
Also good to see you use video footage
you did MGS 1 through 4, looked at the trailer for MGS 5, and you still never got to metal gear rising revengeance? I would think that since you did all that you would've reviewed or at least mentioned the game in one of your related videos

There's two new trailers: the e3 trailer, and the extended red band version. Please review one of the trailers!!
Big Boss in his prime had been codenamed 'Naked Snake', so he was at one point 'Snake'. This was in MGS 3. But then at the end of the game you see how he gets the codename Big Boss.
Worth the play, honestly you will love the SHIT out of that game.
