People state this synth sounds too thin, but I think the tinnyness of it is actually is its best quality. It allowed all those uplifting trance riffs to shine through in the mix. If it had a fatter sound, it would have forced producers to use heavier drums and basses, which would have crowded a genre of music as frantic as uplifting trance. Of course you can EQ any mix, but this synth was perfect out of the box. As far as uplifting trance goes, the signum remix of Alice Deejay has to be my favourite of all time, that riff was just amazing, and it's all thanks to the Roland JP 8000 / 8080.
Wonderful melodies from the golden era of trance! Unfortunately, modern trance music does not have such beautiful sequences and does not give such an impression to listener.
What are you talking about‼️ dude, listen to FACTOR B - Sea of Thought. That song was created in 2022. Most trance artists these days have a whole lot of old school magic 🪄
The 1998-2000 trance era truly was magical. This synth; thanks to Ferry Corsten largely, was a big reason for that beautiful euphoric sound. The supersaw OSC was just so big, thick and creamy, and sounded like nothing else. For me it's that "Better off alone" (Signum Remix) pluck, it sounds heavenly.
My jp8000 is collecting dust in a storage unit underground in downtown LA. Listening to this makes me want to go get it! Wish I had the room … maybe one day

Just purchased this, fantastic emulations, fair play into managing to trick youtube into thinking this was actually the originals of "Out Of The Blue" and the "Better Off Alone (Signum Remix)"
I played on a JP-8000 when they were first released. Sadly I was 17 and could not afford one. This video convinced me to finally buy one 2 months ago (even though that era's Trance boom was over years ago) and I love it. Even before I bought this pack Sami shared the MIDI with me and I have been "wow'ing" my friends with how damn spot-on these patches are. It's fantastic that people like him are creating stuff to get others involved in vintage (damn that makes me feel old) hardware. I cannot recommend this bank enough.
Jesus Christ, this is as close to those late 90s Trance sounds as one could get besides a time machine or asking the producers themselves what settings they used. Actually, most of the producers probably couldn't remember the exact settings since they made these tunes so long ago. Well done!
I have a JP8000 and i love the "plastic" analog sounds what it can produce! i know its not really analog but it sounds fat and nice, i love it! verry good for trance and techno music
So far very happy with this sound pack, can't wait to dive deeper into it and start writing some epic lines! The leads really come close to the early 2000 Sensation White era.

I appreciate that you showed the settings on the JP8080. I knew a lot of these sounds were the super saw oscillators made famous by the Roland JP-series. However, on Carte Blanche what exactly is the feedback osscilator-1? I see that osslicator-2 is a saw but is it a 5 or 10 voice oscillator. I know the Virus Ti and Waldorf Kyra can also do super saw oscillators. Are there any other synthesizers that can mimic this sound. As in, I can't imagine a Prophet or Moog doing these types of with analog subtractive synthesis. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I grew up with these songs and I've only started production and currently learning synthesis. I have both the Virus Ti2 and Kyra. Hence, I would like to do something similar.
Oh you know I always wanted a V-synth and I had hoped it could do the 8080 sound for real. You don't think it does? I've heard one other person day the same. My time with the 8080 gives me the impression it's a real one off, no one would make a synth like this today with the power available from processors.
