THANK YOU!!! Oh my goodness you cannot imagine the amount of people I have asked about how to do this and I’ve received either a vague response or no response. Which one is the 12 DMC Pearl Cotton? Is it the strand on top or the one used to tack it down?
The strand on top! You can use regular floss, but pearl cotton has a bolder, smoother look and you’re less likely to split the thread when you’re tacking it down.
@@Elizabeth-pj5if awesome! I seem to be a pro at splitting the threads. I guess it’s a hidden talent that I didn’t know I had. 🤦♀️. I was told once to use one strand of regular DMC for both but I kept seeing the tacking down loop and it was driving me nuts!
That makes sense! I am starting a dmc kit (for a certain # 😂) and it calls for quite a bit of back stitch, but also I might end up javing to wash it when its finished..would you do back stitch/ couch after washing or does it not matter? As I can imagine its less daunting to do it as you go along? Thank youuu
I finally know what couching is…thank you!
Ohh this makes a lot of sense!! Thank you for showing! I will definitely use this now. Happy stitching!❤❤
You’re so welcome!
This makes it so much easier to understand, thank you!
My pleasure. :)
I never knew about this couching thing before. Thank you so much! 😊
You’re welcome! It makes a bolder, smoother line. :)
Thank you!!! (And now we have a tag for couching in the FlossTube Library stitching section!)
Happy to contribute. :)

I don’t think it matters, although I’ll often wash before I start backstitching or couching… it just feels nice to get things clean’
Is the couching 1 over 1?
The couching is done with one strand of pearl cotton and one strand of regular floss. :)
@@Elizabeth-pj5if Thanks!
