- In this video I take a look at the beautiful Baldur's Gate 3 Deluxe Edition by Larian Studios. I will take a look at what's inside the box and I will also check what version of the game comes on the disc. Hope you enjoy! Apologies for bad audio quality at times!
UPDATE:
Larian have since sent out codes for the DLC. This does not include a digital copy of the game. It's for the DLC only.
ORIGINAL COMMENT:
One thing I didn't mention in this video was that I never received a code for the Digital Deluxe DLC. I contacted Larian about this and after about 2 weeks of no response from them I finally received a mail with a code for the DLC. It seems others had the same problem but are now being sent their DLC codes.
Savage amount of detail in this! Fair play, especially for checking the version on disk!
So happy that you got it, I'm from Italy (wave1) and i still didn't got mine, not even the mail from the courier, i hope that i'll get it this week :(

@@gruvver183 sisi, ricevuto il pacco una settimana fa! Ne ho addirittura ordinata un altra una settimana fa ahahah, quella chissà quanto ci vorrà! Comunque Quando hai ordinato? Che versione? Il sito larian è completamente inutile, ti arriverà solo una mail dal corriere gls che ti dirà quando consegnano, se non succede ed è passato tanto tempo ti consiglio di mandargli una mail a larian, se hai preso la versione xbox si stanno smuovendo solo ora quindi è normale che non hai ancora ricevuto nulla, ma a momenti ti dovrebbe arrivare, la versione ps5 invece avresti già dovuto averla, fammi sapere!
I hate that they lied about the cloth map. Not only that but they locked it behind the collectors edition. They didn't even attempt to apologize or make us aware of it. Besides that I'm excited to get mine here in canada. If it would just ship already. 🙄
Nonetheless, thank you for showing which update was on disk. I was hoping for the patch that added the epilogue and better endings to be on disk..
Yes the lack of a cloth map is a shame. I'm happy enough with the version they have put on disc. It's better than having version 1.00
@@Dickmcsavage do u know if it's the version that added the new endings and epilogue? I believe they said that patch 5 was going to be that version.
@@coreymckee4844 The main patch on the disc is patch 5 which was the update with the Epilogue and with Honour and Custom mode.
@@Dickmcsavage awesome thanks. Glad this is the case. It's also good news for physical game preservation. Other updates added small things that are nice to have. But the main most important thing I wanted on disk was the true ending stuff. Now the game will feel actually complete when I finish it even if I don't download the latest updates.

Mine arrived today. Finally! I got the code for the goodies via email two days prior. Really annoyed about the cloth map! That was one of the deciding factors to get this. Annoyed, to say the least. Those cowards! 😀
while the sides do come off, the middle part of the lock is actually indeed on the box itself. :)
i had the same fear and cut it open like you did, but saw someone else pulling it off revealing the lock underneath !! ^^

I pulled the lock sticker off mine and what I found amazing was how intricately lined up with the lock graphic on the box it was. it was 1 to 1 perfectly aligned. That is some attention to detail.
So the physical version seems to contain bg3 with patch 5 and some hotfixes included on the physical disk.

Mines got delayed again! I'M so disappointed, but it's hard to get mad at Larian since it's out of their control. But i can't lie it is very depressing waiting for so long. Hopefully, it comes by june.. fingers crossed 🤞 😅😢

Yes, careful with the soundtrack CDs. They are stuck in there good! I thought I was going to break one the first time I got each out of the case.
I opened the sticker and then closed it again. It actually worked well.
I've ordered this solely for a physical copy of the game and soundtrack.

The Deluxe edition was supposed to have codes for the Deluxe edition digital items such as character cards and digital soundtrack and in game items? Where are those??
You're right, there's no code with the game and so I thought the content may have been on the disc so I did a quick check in game and can't find any of the deluxe editions items. I've checked my Larian account and can't find anything there. I might have to log a support ticket with them.

@@Dickmcsavage thank you so much. Your actually the first one to help me with this issue as nobody has even pointed it out yet or investigated it. This is something I'm sure will become more recognized as a problem the more people get their copies in the mail. Hopefully it's all sorted out before I get my copy.

Larion really dropped the ball on this physical release, and it pisses me off. Physical games need all the positive representation it can get over digital right now. Digital is a SCAM, and i hope people start seeing that....
It is unfortunate but hopefully Larian can learn from this experience for future physical releases.

Yeah, they can get fucked to be perfectly honest, expecting those who prefer having actual discs to buy the expensive £100 "deluxe edition" with shipping then wait for months after having paid just because they claimed to have underestimated the issues that would arise with the manufacturing. Oh, and the map is paper, as if you want a cloth map, you need to buy the even more pricey version.
I'm not impatient, and if they were transparent about it all, I would be prepared to wait even longer, but their behaviour as it stands is pathetic, especially since they have gained millions from sales and it was last year's GoTY. In fact, it's worse than if BG3 had been broken and/or incomplete and they had been honest about it with realistic updates.

@CesarJoel94 everyone's order got delayed like 3 to 4 times depending on where you live. Larion wouldn't give a straight answer to why the delays happened. I dislike the scam that digital has become and was hoping with the popularity of BG3 people would get the bug to start buying physical again.
I want this so much but i dont know if larian ships it to Brazil.
I saw a comment on Reddit that they don't ship to Brazil which is unfortunate.

The epilogue patch was update 5. That is on the disk. Larian have said already.
Spectacular edition, does the Spanish language come on the disc?
I'm not sure. I'll check and let you know.

@@Alexandro_lc From what I can see Spanish is a supported language but you need to change the language on the console itself to access it in game.

North America got delayed to July.... wave 1.... better be NA discs then, not Pegi. but who knows.
Still could be worse. Firstpressgames had never shipped Chained Echoes yet and I had to go through hell and trash them just to get them to acknowledge a potential refund.
I bought a copy this week and on the website it said I should get it by Q2 2024, seems too soon. I live in Ireland too so not sure if it makes a difference. All I know is that the PAL version is posted from Ireland.
You never know but yeah it's been sent from RedSky Ireland so I got mine pretty quick but I did order last November

The other day i got given a digital key for the deluxe edition but my physical copy has yet to arrive, does anyone know if i need this key in order to to access my content or can i give the key to my cousin so we can both play once my physical copy arrives?
The code that Larian are sending out is for the DLC only. Not digital version of the full game
