Same thing happened to my barn 50 x 70 building 90% posts rotted out, right side of the building sank 4 -1/2 inches. I had to auger a whole by every post sister them up and use threaded rods - worked great! Good luck
I’m getting ready to do something similar. Not 100% sure how I’m gonna go about it. I’ve read on some forums so some people use C channel Steel. I think some pressure treated six by sixes and probably the way to go. I’m tying them into old telephone poles. I’m open to any suggestions if you have them . thank you
Nice job! Did you have a concrete pad or pier at the base of rotted post to set your scabbed in piece on ? I started putting plastic bags over my posts when I set them and it seems to help slow down rot! I see they have plastic post sleeves now. I am thinking about cutting off rotted bottoms of some deck posts I have and putting in sonic tubes with some cement up above grade line and bracket the posts to concrete ! Big pain to do though !
if you put a 2x6 on each side that would also help you out in your lateral movement, especially if it was a piece that was twice the height as your splice is from the floor.
This was helpful. I have a corner post that has some rot and eating my small red ants. It's a critical corner. Any suggestions or questions. Tomorrow I will dig it down to the foundation. Northerm MI.

Nice fix, but that’s a lot of digging. Good thing you’ve got a machine.
Excellent fix hope you have an awesome evening

would gluing or epoxy on the joint help before bolting together for strength
