  • The BYU Cougars have been members of the Big 12 Conference for an entire calendar year and it's been an eventful 365 days for Brigham Young University (BYU) as Jake Hatch aruges that BYU Athletics is in as good of a position as BYU could have ever hoped for even with a lack of hardware in their trophy case from their first run in the Big 12.
Jake then talked about the BYU football program teasing new uniforms that he hopes are paying homage to great Cougars teams of the past rather than messing with the iconic look that Kalani Sitake and BYU have at their disposal currently as the iconic royal blue and white allows them to stand out from the crowd and be identifiable to fans.
Finally, the show wrapped up with a look back at the accomplishments that BYU track and field star James Corrigan has notched in the last six weeks, going from a middle of the pack steeplechase athlete to punching his ticket to the Olympic Games and showing all of Cougar Nation what the "spirit of the games" is all about as he heads to Paris.

I agree Jake the hype is out the roof to prove everyone wrong! The hype was the same last we wanted to prove everyone wrong. What worries me the most is football? We stumbled into 5-2 record. We had no offence go back and look at the games it was garbage for the most. The defense took a little step forward and I expect 100% more improvement from them Jay Hill has done a tremendous job. This is make or break for A-ROD we need a 1000% improvement from this staff, if there's going to be proving anything it's on the offence side of the ball!!! We had no tight end production last year affecting our wide out performance and opening up a running game with stellar running backs!!! We can't have simple mental coaching errors there's no RPO in simple running plays ECT!!! I'm rooting for A-ROD & company but now we are in power football there's no room for such errors. Anyhow go COUGARS we are better than we showed last year!!!!

What was Pope's buy-out amount? If we'd know what we know NOW, we'd have paid HIM to leave.
    😆 😉

As I recall when Kalani first came he was all about the true Royal...but eventually mixed it up to appease the heretical meso American crowd.....I mean navy crowd.

Talk is cheap. Hype is yearly. Byu football has not improved its personnel. Can't expect different results.

Maybe, but there's no substitution for game experience and especially continuity on the OL. Coaching, player injuries, rotations etc.
You also have to remember we lost a lot early and throughout the season due to injuries and were down to 5th string at DB. These guys will be ready now.

Haven't improved its personnel? Last year they had the best recruiting class in the last 20 years.

@@cts7648 though it is awesome that they did get a good recruiting class. It doesn’t mean that they’re going to all of a sudden win more games. BYU has struggled to develop players and you can see it with her losing these past couple seasons.

@beau_body4152 If you go back and look at byus precious recruiting rankings, they're abysmal. They were a very good g5 team with those recruits (82 averages). At the power level, they've stepped it up in a big way. Does that mean more wins? Long term I think so. This year? Maybe not but it's not crazy to think they win 1 more game with all the depth they've added. It's also worth noting that if nothing else, it's fun that byu out recruited utah in a big way in 24' and are going back and forth for 25'.

Says who? What is the recruiting ranked nationally? Top 100? Is the qb position better? Is the offensive line better? They are the same as last year less their best player.. Recruits are 3 stars with one or two 4 stars.
