I love that according to the Emails DJ Music Man makes his own music and won't repeat a track which means that music you hear during your chase is something he is making for you. This guy is making a soundtrack for kicking your ass as he's chasing you and I love it

I love that whoever designed Music Man also designed the daycare attendants. They're all goofy and charming, but also unsettling and have the ability to quickly become terrifying. They did a great job and I wish they did more with them! Maybe in the DLC...
The Daycare Attendant and Music Man are, for me, the best designs from Security Breach!!
Also both of their chase sequences are one of the best parts of SB

Oh, forgot to mention that DJMM also has a cleaning mode... like he can apparently clean the walls of the arcade or something? Not important that much, but it's kinda interesting he's duel DJ/Janitor AND bouncer.

What else are you supposed to do with an animatronic with many flexible-use limbs? He can't do interaction, obviously, so he's put to use everywhere that would need a bot with that unique feature.
Music Man is such a weird character, but one I enjoy. It's the odd standout characters like him, Funtime Chica and El Chip that let me appreciate the lighter aspects of Pizza Sim and UCN. I'd think he and FT Chica were defective Funtime models, given how Chica in PS has 0 risk whatsoever and in UCN holds little to no threat towards you other than attracting attention. Music Man, contrary to the purpose of the other funtime animatronics, only activates with too much noise. He's not a kid grabber or a distraction, more a liability. So I'd wager both him and Chica were simply dumped due to not being useful for killing children. Hence they show up as legit entertainers.

I also think they were built by Afton. And that Funtime Chica and Music man were rented out to the mysterious Chica's Party world, which is why they were absent from Sister location. Though after the events from that game, the rental facility never took them back and they were put up for auction.
Though... The fact only Funtime Chica and Music man can be "found" for free in pizzeria Simulator is strange. Especially since Music man was hiding in the Ball pit, as if he was waiting for kids to hop in so he could snatch them up.
Even with his low liability rate on stage... This is telling to me. If he was built by Afton after all

We don't have anything concrete for the Music men... But it's my fun little head canon that the Pizzaplex unintentionally rebuilt an Afton Creation despite their efforts to "erase" him. I just think it's fun irony ^^

It's interesting to note that in security breach, dj music man isn't made by afton robotics or afton in any way. Something that people seem to not think too much about is the fact that afton wasn't the only one making advanced animatronics for pizzerias.

That's why her head's so flat - it started out round, but she's had a few mishaps and they just put the paint back on.
I didn't like Music Man at first but then his voice actor did song covers as Music Man and I was immediately won over.
With his relatively friendly personality and raw strength, it wouldn’t surprise me if part of Ruin involves reprogramming him to take down Afton/Blob.

Wouldnt that be Monty tho? Of all characters in FNAF hes the only one who shown a feat of strength by being able to hold that giant bucket above his head, if it wasnt for the floor caving in he would probably be able to throw it back to the place it came from, he can also take punishment and still work, Monty's a absolute unit.

The most interesting part of music man in UCN is that he is always right behind the player. Its strange that he above all the other animatronics is the most inescapable in that game aside from golden Freddy. Even if he isn't killing you it's just because he hasn't decided to yet.

A note on the Mini-MMs. Why are they so beat up? My theory is that the original MM from Pizzaria sim was going to be near the sunken resturaunt, below the pizzaplex. Possibly on the empty stage. Maybe a chase scene, with him replacing the endos that chase you down there. but it got scrapped due to time, and they shrunk him down and stuck him in the vents. Poor Music Man.
im guessing just from being in the vents for so long? im not really sure either though, i dont think running around in the vents for a while would cause _that_ much dirt and damage
That's actually pretty likely. The textures and detail on the model are quite detailed, particularly compared to some of the later parts in SB which were left partially unfinished, so it stands to reason he might've once been a bigger version, what he once was in previous games. There certainly isn't much reason for him to be so incredibly dirty and beat up otherwise - unless he either was already like that in the display cases, which I find unlikely, or if he just doesn't care much and runs through the mess on the floor of the trash collection areas and into ventilation fans all the time. But I doubt that a lot, too - we never see him slip up in any such way.
That said, the way he is right now, he's the perfect size to kick out of the way. I wonder if something else was intended to be in the vents initially, but since it wasn't finished and Music Man was, at least in model and basic animations, they just merged the concepts.
@@I_Dont_Believe_In_Salad I mean, the game tells you it's a wind up toy, but the model itself doesn't explicitly look like a wind up toy. It could have very well been scaled down and edited to be a wind up toy instead.

I know right, I really don't like the way they handle William. He went from cold child murderer to cartoon villain.
I really wish that DJ Music Man did more in Security Breach, especially when it comes to being friendly.
I was talking about it with my brother and we thought it would be cool if DJMM gave the player gameplay and lore hints if you interacted with him after completing the west arcade mission.
We also discussed the same being true with the Sun if you tried to enter the daycare after that mission.
He should at least wave at you if you see him on janitorial duty
i like to imagine that dj music man chooses to be mute as he has no need to talk, and would rather want his music to do the talking for him. esp with how he quickly goes into dj mode after chasing after gregory (which is my probably my favorite scene in that stage of the night, haha !)
I’m sorry but the only 3 animatronics pinkpills didn’t design overshadowing and being much more popular than the actual glamrocks is so funny to me

i honestly really enjoy what dayshift did with music man! using him as a tool to keep a man alert by combining aspects that would scare him awake was a really cool plotline and i thought it was really creative 🙏 music man is one of my favourite fnaf characters in general, really love that you covered him!!!! ur my favourite creator rn tbh

But fr, DSaF is probably the biggest reason I love Music Man so much, it's take on him just so rightfully unhinged yet unexpectedly sympathetic (and it has his canon voice in my heart)

Considering the mediocre melodies (at least 2 are referenced in the books) were made by Henry as Matpat theorized. Considering they'd be characters that are forgotten, who's to say Music Man was a character that William made? Even Security Breach has a message that states the music man toys that we see in the vents are "prototypes". He was one of those characters that we can write off as just a joke character like El Chip, but at the same time, they've become bigger characters.
Security Breach gives El Chip his own restaurant, and Music Man has mini versions of himself and we have DJ Music Man.
The music during the DJ chase part really slaps. I can see myself actually dancing to it.
In the Messages it said that he does not repeat songs and he will make new songs so he made that song pacifically to play when he is chasing you as soon as he wakes up
He really is an interesting and fun character. Hopefully in the dlc, DJMM has a bigger role
He'll probably be more deadly and withered since the mall is ruined

It could just be a coincidence but it does show another resemblance to the Funtimes.
I mean, Kellen Goff voices both versions of the Daycare Attendant in addition to Glamrock Freddy, so I feel like Curtis *wanted* to record lines for DJ Music Man as well, but Steel Wool ran out of time to do recording sessions.

Iirc in one of the Pizzaplex books, DJMM is just....like that. He tries to grab employees in the bathroom just like he does in the game. I forget why he was in bouncer mode in the book, though.

@@notrealnamenotatall2476 That or they don't have a tight _enough_ policy, and someone can just walk into somewhere and turn it on by mistake (or maliciously). After all, it activates because someone didn't shut the arcade down properly, apparently, in the game.
Thank you to exposing me to the DJMM concept art. He looks like he's a spider that can induce psychedelic responses, with those eyes. And also _way_ creepier than his in-game counterpart.
Anyways, Music Man has always been a neat, if underutilized character. There's not a lot to say, other than that he's quite unique in just about every form, be it physical shape, gameplay elements, exposed endoskeleton, or just his voice's autotune-esque effect.
Okay, there is _that_ which you mentioned - DJMM's wall-crawl. I speculated for a while on this with a couple other people, and we came to the conclusion that he most likely uses electromagnets to achieve this effect, and metal plating set into the walls - this would explain his charging cycle that appears to take most of the night, or at least several straight hours rather than only five to ten minutes in lore for the others (save for Freddy, who takes [gameplay mechanic] amount of time to do so), which since his massive body could easily be stuffed full of capacitors for an absolutely enormous battery life, implies he needs a lot of power. With a body that big, he still could do with plenty less, but electromagnetics are incredibly power-draining to use, particularly at that level of power. After all, the tube he crawls out of in the backstage area is made of metal, and the others in the arcade itself imply he does that either during or, more likely, between shows, just for the sole purpose of to be impressive and boost ratings and whatnot. The gloves would serve both as a covering for the component so it's not just plainly visible, and also a bit of cushion so the force on the walls isn't so strong as to just crush the materials over it invariably - though I suspect the maintenance costs would be high regardless, but that's probably why he's apparently a rental. And his maintenance costs would always be high - just look at him. Lot of stuff to cover. I imagine his legs are likely hollow metal beams, and arguably the same style as the endoskeletons for smaller animatronics, just visible and smoothed over due to their scale allowing it to easily function as such, and his body and head appear to be mostly plastic save for his glassy, reflective eyes, and some details like his piano key mouth and speakers and whatnot might be different too, though most are probably decorative.
absolutely fascinating!! Music Man has been one of my favourites since his introduction, his design is just so silly hes my guy. and I was ecstatic when it was revealed he would be in SB and am in love with DJMM’s and little Music Man’s designs both. i love the attention hes got *since* DJMM was introduce, and the Afton theory is really neat! i hope he continues to have a place in the franchise.
I was literally just talking to a friend about how the only designs in the game I like from a horrific/disturbing/creepy standpoint are the daycare attendants and DJ music man, only to find this video today! It makes sense that they were all made by the same person, I’m disappointed they weren’t the ones who made ALL the designs. Great video, keep it up!

I actually really like the idea of making him a DJ. The extra limbs (of a number that could change between games), which previously provided stability to a bot on the heavier side, now, when given motors, can be used as both arms and legs when needed, which would be really helpful for a bot tasked with mixing up tons of records all the time. Plus he could do a trick sometimes where he hops on top of the table and scratches all the records at once, assuming this newer model is much lighter than the previous one.
I should point out, with the 'Isn't confirmed to be a funtime' thing. the Ultimate Guide confirms that he is, in fact, a Funtime.
As for where he is in Sister Location, I kind of think they worked on the restaurant after Baby's cast was put away. Just with a new cast led by Chica, hence why Chica is mentioned to have a restaurant in the files and she never appears in Sister Location. So Music Man would be part of Chica's cast.
Or it's something far stranger and more confusing who knows
i reall like music man. probably my favorite minor character in fnaf. I absolutely love the idea of him being super friendly (until provoked) but because he looks so scary people are afraid of him. hes not bad, he's just built that way.

To be fair, DJMM is more of a scenery piece than an animatronic. His job is to be the DJ - he sits on his stage and absolutely vibes, ensuring everyone else can too. I can't imagine being near him would be very safe, more because the shape of him ensures he won't see you if he accidentally steps on you, and the size of him, well.. you can imagine.
The others do tend to be quite endearingly cute. Sure, they can be uncanny, but half the horror of them is that they're coming for you and you don't know why or how, not that they just look inherently scary - it's a matter of context. Particularly with some, like the Toys - although I will admit most personifications of Mangle do take the spot as _my_ favorite even though that particular instance is one of the scarier ones to some.

Am I the only one who thinks the suns mouth should’ve like, *bent* during his transformation to moon?
Like, with the little time we see him we get the impression his mouth plate can’t move.
But if it did move when he transforms into moon, then we would have our only “friend” go through unknown pain while having his static mouth starts to change.
Just a thought.

I love these video essays, it makes me think about what I think or thought about the animatronic and makes me change my views or agree/disagree with the certain things that is said. I really appreciate it that someone views the animatronics and looks into personally and the story, for example; I though Charlie Emily from the books was pretty good, but watching the "When fnaf failed its Main Character" and the baby video, it made e think and actually change my view based on what you said and my own thoughts. Thanks for taking the time to make these video essay, it really helps understand the characters.
Music man has actually always been my favorite animatronic since UCN
The daycare attendant and dj music man have always been some of my favorite animatronics, with the former having the edge. I always liked the idea of Djmm being like that cool older cousin that played around with you when you were younger.

Music Man is definitely one of my favorite characters, which made me glad to see his return as two different variants in Security Breach, and I hope to see him return as a common face in the Freddy's brand for future game installments.

Honestly I really like Music Man as an animatronic, 50% because his design is actually really good and out there, but also because of the voice and lines Matthew Curtis gave him. I'm not even scared of him despite the fact he's basically a 7-8 foot tall robot spider.
I am terrified of DJ Music Man though, seriously why does the Pizzaplex have a MASSIVE robot spider that is so big and bulky that it has its own _utilidor tubes_ in the arcade? When I saw DJ Music Man in Markiplier's Security Breach playthrough I damn near shat myself. Why is he so goddamn huge??
Well it was later added in the game that Dj music man only sang/spoke in his home language, Japanese, and they couldn't fix it so they removed his speaking function altogether. Also I think he's passive because he probably hasn't been infected with William's virus. Like, didn't vanny have to drag the other animatronics below the Pizzaplex to get them infected them with William's virus? And I don't think it's physically possible to get the Dj down there so he just never got infected in the first place.
Or (and this just a funny headcanon of mine) since he sleeps on the job that possibly implies a carefree and possibly lazy personality so what if he simply does not care that Gregory is there dispite being told to catch the boy if he sees him. And him getting on the stage to play music after his bouncer mode was turned off was simply a ploy to make himself seem busy but he's still not in the mood to chase Gregory (again).
Hopefully he gets more screentime in the future games because I've always loved his creepy design. Especially those freely teeth I mean forget the eyes those teeth are unreal.

Music man is a bizarre character to analyze especially with their appearance resembling the funtimes. Especially because he isn’t the only non-funtime with weirdly funtime parts. Like on juice and lemonade clown you can see that they have the exact same button that Ennard has, the security puppet’s face having the same funtime slits like its supposed to open up. And I know from sister location’s ballora that the funtimes can be sound sensitive (which is always weird because ballora has never had that mechanic and doesn’t even react when hand unit screams across the room). And then the fact that music man is vibing in a ball pit which I noticed the freddy files pay special attention towards like it was trying to force it to be connected to into the pit but that doesn’t really go anywhere. I did have one silly idea that given how absolutely unstable the pizzaplex time wise that it was yeeting music men into the past for pizzasim but that is just glitxhes. The wind up music men in the vents at least for me is the most significant appearance because it could be used to determine a timeline of events prior to sb. Basically assuming that Vanessa/Vanny put the music men into the vents that would mean that something was crawling around inside of the vents already. You don’t put guards somewhere unless you expect activity. Combined that with the scraping sound mentioned in the logs it makes it seem like there was actually going to be another entity vibing in the vents. I don’t think music man was making the scraping sound because their super light and don’t make any sound like that during gameplay. The entity I think is most likely to be Mangle. First there actually is a run down build a mangle section that matches help wanted’s game. Second there is a completely unused mangle model in the games files thats organized with the other animatronics. Third (and this one is the largest reach), but in the therapy logs the body of one of the therapists who went missing was described as “mangled by machinery” but that is hardly solid. I just thought it was a cool bit of world building that I wanted to share even though ultimately it doesn’t matter given how it was cut out (like everything with sb)
@SassyGworl Admittedly Im not entirely sure it is the blob. It kinda seems a bit too big or at least too heavy. And admittedly even if it is the blob I kinda don’t see how some mini music men would do anything against a blob. Especially since I don’t know if its even able to leave the underground area. None of this means that it isn’t possible to be the thing in the vents but the blob just doesn’t do enough or have nearly enough of a presence to make me think its doing anything more than just vibing underground (although technically we could both be right because mango is in the blob)
I don't think it was Vanny. I think it was Vanessa, or maybe a higher-up, that ordered vent patrol. Remember that the corporation knows what's down there, and where the vents go.
Given how big the atrium is, it really is a missed opportunity not having music man patrol it. That would really justify the size. And it's way more interesting than just having a million staff bots rolling around.

i've seen this theory around that when DJ MUSIC MAN is in his bouncer mode and blast his banger of song, the addition of sirens to the final part has a double meaning that sayd : "i am not myself RUN" meaning he is trying to keep control of himself but can barely do it, launching arcades props infront of you instead of on you and signaling the danger throug his music

I subbed to your channel recently. You're my favorite fnaf-theory youtuber right now and I always drop everything to see a new video from you. Like you always make distinctly clear what's just fun speculation and what's actually in the games. Like Talking about the Music Man Musical was a really fun speculation tangent, and I haven't thought of that musical in a hot minute, so it was nice to get a refresher. The DJMM is one of my favorite animatronics in Security Breach. Like I love that he's just chill after he's out of bouncer mode. (and I find it funny that he's designed by the same person who designed the DCA since I wrote a whole fanfic with the concept of those two being friends with eachother) Anyways, I'm probably rambling a lot, but I just wanted to say that I love the care and thought you put into these little videos. I also like how you talk about the books too. Like not upset because "FAZGOO EXISTS" like your upset because the books are lackluster at times, putting focus on the wrong things, ruining charlie as a character progressively and Circus Baby is a sex symbol in them. And like... YEAH. looool Let's talk about the real issues, queen!

I love music man, he is epic, he has one of my favorite design's from the whole series, kinda sad that we din't get a chase scene with the og music man(because atleast to me he is way scarerier than Dj Music Man), but Dj Music Man is also very epic, great video as always

I love the Music Menagerie they're funky little fellows who are simultaneously the funniest and some of the scariest characters in each of their games, although that might just be because the glamrocks aren't scary at all

Based on in UCN jumpscare, he was probably made around the era of the fnaf 1 animatronics, its odd that he's the only fnaf 6 animatronic that uses a different sound for his jump scare

music mans place in fnaf is that they are a total rockin hot babe who i want to date; i think
jokes aside ive always loved music mans design; its so creepy and absurd compared to basically every single thing in the franchise; probably the most out there animatronic design
ucn went above and beyond with music man just; being behind you and smashing cymbals behind you. its such a creepy idea especially since theyre probably like 8 foot tall or more
the voicelines as so good; so goofy and fun but the lines are quite jolly and somewhat dark
it was such an insane surprise to see music man in security breach since nobody cared about music man and they were my tied favourite animtronic alongside lolbit
the music minis were a nice surprise and i love them; but dj music man is such an insane design. giant spider-like music man thats also a dj; like they were tailor made for me. and somehow they made them look sort of cute? obviously during the dj music man sequence seeing them crawl around the walls and stuff is creepy and cool; but when dj music man is sleeping; and while theyre jamming out after the sequence; i find it absolutely adorable. its also really nice to me that dj music man is like; not even a bad guy. like the rest of the animatronics are under the afton virus or wwhatevver and bouncer mode is probably too; but then dj music man is just chill and is basically completely friendly. dj music man instantly became my favourite fnaf guy from fnaf; its always nice to see music man acknowledgement; even if it is more common post-security breach
i do hope music man comes back; and i know fnaf is a horror franchise and stuff but i think itd be pretty funny and just kinda nice if music man was a generally actually friendly animtronic
