Rewatching this with you guys, it hammers home Lucien's look of fulfillment on as he sees Selene and Michael's tenderness before he dies. It's inevitable for their species to love. It was taken away from him with Sonja, but lives on with this couple
Michael Sheen is such a versatile actor! Between Lucian, Aro in Twilight, and Aziraphale in Good Omens, I believe that man can play anything. But maaaan I'd love a TV series of Underworld, maybe something that's set in different eras throughout, there's so much lore they could build on. But the vampire genre is currentlyin a bit of a slump (not like the 90s and early 2000s, when you could throw a rock and would hit a random vampire show). Maybe in a few years it'll get a revival, and then maybe we'll get more Underworld.
Yeah it would be great! Though I am a bit disappointed with the development of the franchise going forward in time and well that would spoilers but the Awakening and Bloodwars wasn't satisfying enough not to mention the treatmetn of character that I think should have been given more time Michael, hell depicting his role in this world of vampires and lycans and being the first and most powerful hybrid etc. shame that they did not explore his potential in storyline.
28:06 I'm not sure if you missed this detail in the first Underworld movie, but Sonia being pregnant was already mentioned there. Viktor called it "the abomination growing in her womb".
I love that you guys literally said it's hard to see (Lucien) as a bad ass after seeing him as the leader of the vamp simps in Twillight. But I experienced it the other way around. I remember being like - he's the alpha lycan of all time... Then Twillight came out and when we saw him I remember every Underworld fan was like WTF?! :P
not sure if anyone has mentioned it before. but I do love the detail about the werewolves who can't change back have like the longer nose/snout, so they look more wolf like and the ones who can change back have shorter and have more of a human look because of that. it's a very nice detail for me.
I always love watching your reactions! Michael Sheen is without a doubt one of my favorite actors and it was so fun revisiting him as Lucian after watching (several times recently) his return as Aziraphale in the second season of "Good Omens"- now that is a complete opposite end of the spectrum from his Lucian!
One thought that makes this series rather special, Is that its quality in almost everything (up to this point anyhow), is rather consistant. Most other franshises, start with a B or A movie, then goes to a high budget movie or justa a cashgrab, then the third is often not even connected, but something realy B. But this realy feels connected, and the quality of the story and plottwists are what makes this series great, imho. Cheers.
This was my first experience with this movie series. Such a good series. An ex of mine who was negative towards most things praised the series in that the first one she saw was the 4th or something like that and the recap was good enough to understand everything and she liked all she saw.
This is my favourite of all 5 movies for sure! On the theme of werewolf movies, "Wolf" with Jack Nicholson is worth a watch, as well as "An American werewolf in London", one of the most iconic Werewolf transformations in cinema (for it's time lol)
Haha, i do the same cos i prefer, to watch em chronological (storywise) :-). Just like i do with starwars :-). Well its not like it matters when ur rewatching them cos u know how the story goes so there are no spoilers anyways :-) .
I think the VFX was a little wonky because it looked like they decided to make the change of the werewolves to look like William since he turned them all. In U2 the ones William turned looked like Lucian but in this movie they look like William, which is a nice touch and makes more sense.
Since you guys are enjoying this series so much, I’d like to make a couple of recommendations for similar movies that you should watch after this series has ended. I recommend you guys check out “The Last Witch Hunter” with Vin Diesel, and “I, Frankenstein” with Aaron Eckhart. Both of which are excellent movies, in my opinion. It’s my head canon that those movies take place in the same universe as the “Underworld” Franchise. Might be worth checking out.
I'd also like to recommend a couple of old favorite Vampire and Werewolf movies I liked. "Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter" a 1974 film starring European actors. It's not as high tech in terms of special effects obviously, but has great cult following value plus it stars Bond girl Caroline Munro. There is also a 1993 film titled "Full Eclipse" with its unique take on the Werewolf genre starring Bruce Payne and Mario Van Peebles plus the beautiful Patsy Kensit. The special effects are old school practical effects but it sure is a fun ride.
best prequels in general that I have seen, I loved everyone's performance, how it explains the origin of the second generation of werewolves, that is, those from Lucian onwards, the battles and so on. I think there were no errors in this film, they did not contradict what was mentioned above and that is another success, in general it is a spectacular film and my second favorite after Underworld Evolution. PS: How curious that they have mentioned that it would work better if it were a television series, since 2017 a series of the saga was announced and recently the same creator confirmed that it is still standing, if it turns out well they should react to it after Let them finish with the two movies they have left.
Check out Shot Caller (2017) starring among many others Nikolaj Coster-Walday (Jamie Lannister you know) and Jon Berthal. Family man Nikolaj makes a mistake and winds up in a California state prison, and once inside it's sink or swim. His time in prison is told in flashbacks, while we follow current day Nikolaj as he at the start of the movie is released from prison, and he struggles to complete a deal he can't back out from. Fantastic performances, and with a haunting score. The last movie that had me this gripped was Sicario (2015), and that's saying something.

Do NOT picture your typical lumbering, moaning giant that you just because it has Frankenstein in the name. Think of it more like Wolverine meets John Wick. It's absolutely worth the watch.
I hope you guys love this one it is my favorite of all of them .... not so good CGI but what can you do with the money they give out... I love your reaction looking forward to the next one
I really enjoyed this movie, I know as the discussion at the end touches on people maybe didnt love it. Maybe it is my love for Rhona Mitra? She looks close enough to Kate Beckinsale that you could understand why Victor took her in like a daughter and I thought all of that worked very well. Michael Sheen, I'll be honest I forgot he was in the UW movies after seeing him in Good Omens and other things I almost couldnt believe it was the same chap. What a great job by him. Some of the material we already knew but overall it was an enjoyable movie.
I watch this before it was taken down and now I will watch it again! to be honest I’m not surprised that it got age restricted I was kind of shocked and I’m surprised it’s not censored so far in this re-upload so I won’t be surprised if this gets taken down again with how UA-cam is. On to the movie. I don't know Lucian never gave me the "BAD GUY" vibes- I may be a bit screwy with trying to describe why but I just got the more anti-hero "fighting for freedom" and "survival" vibe. Lucian was a very complex character, a diamond in the rough but for me he was that old London Chap. A bit more digging and his name means "Light".
Yo, that Alpha wolf science is misrepresented by popular tropes. It was based on a flawed study. Now, the study of wolves shows that the parents are the alphas. It's not some battle for superiority like depicted in movies.
This is easily the best underworld movie. Of the werewolf movies in the genre this is a solid werewolf movie. I think if they want to see a really good werewolf movie they're going to have to watch dog soldiers. Unfortunately the last two are very bad.

I would love to see y’all watch Faster with Dwayne Johnson , the the movie Ur Next , I’m excited to see y’all reactions
Looking forward to the underworld awakening
Unfortunately it’s downhill from here
Yesterday Underworld3 video still accessible for watching. So what's happening? I thought you said YT did something? Is it making it age restricted?
(Edit) Ah, i see. A 24 seconds chunk has been removed it seems.
If you have an account on YT premium & you're over 18, you won't have any issues.
@@BaddMedicine Ah i see. Thanks for the info.
UA-cam couldn't just go back to the way they were 11 years ago couldn't they? When YT still fun.
Anyways, keep up the good work.
Using Rotten Tomatoes as a reference to how good a movie is/was, is like using Wikipedia for unbiased facts.
At last
Uh oh what happen guys
YT determined the previous upload should be age-restricted due to its incompetent automated system. Even the terrible "Human" element agreed with the horrible automated system. If you wonder why so many things are censored, this is why. YT censors everything.
@BaddMedicine that sucks, but always happy to have one of yalls videos show up 😊
@@NolaAlon 🤜🤛
was this video uploaded as i watched it earlier.?

@@BaddMedicine I miss when youtube had barely any restrictions. Those were the good old days
@@TokuRewinds yeah, so much get restricted. That's why a lot of things just don't make the cuts or get muted or blurred. They claim it's not "ad friendly"
@@BaddMedicine they're a bunch of sellouts!! 😆
Rotten tomatoes don't know nothin
reupload?
