    In this video, I'm delving deep into some essentials in the grooming world while visiting Bentonville, Arkansas. The star of the show is Gillette's Fusion 5 Black Edition, a 5-blade cartridge razor that's been on your radar for a while now. With its precision trimmer and a lubrication strip for an effortless glide, it's clear why this razor is a fan favorite. I'll put it to the test to see how it performs as an ultimate travel razor.
    Next up is Barbasol's travel size sensitive shave foam. Known for its thick and rich lather, Barbasol has been a trusted name in men's grooming since 1919. Its travel size sensitive foam is perfect for on-the-go and promises a comfortable and close shave, even for the most sensitive skin.
    Lastly, I'll be testing Kirk's handmade soap with coconut oil. I'm always on a hunt for products that will elevate my shower experience, which is crucial when you're on the road and want to feel at home. Kirk's is known for its all-natural approach, making their soaps from 100% premium coconut oil that gently cleanses and nourishes the skin.
    I'm also giving you on a glimpse of Bentonville, Arkansas, a town with a rich history and promising future. Known as the birthplace of Walmart, the world's largest retailer, Bentonville is a testament to the power of entrepreneurial spirit. The small five and dime store that Sam Walton opened in 1950 has transformed not just this town, but the global retail landscape.
    Today, Bentonville is booming with development, filled with an eclectic mix of local boutiques, innovative restaurants, and stunning architecture.

    Wonderfully entertaining and naturally effortless video.
    Golden words- "You'll never get all the hair, no matter what you may think. So it's not worth hurting yourself for that".
    I actually found my way here because I was browsing the internet to resolve a dilemma. As a perfectionist, I have only relatively recently started shaving against the grain. The smoothness it affords is second to none, but the price to be paid is heavy. By the time I am done, my face is bleeding like a battlefield, and burning like fire. I use a Gillette Mach 3 turbo, and the bleeding is worse with a new blade, because it oh-so-effortlessly just nicks the skin whilst going against the grain. Your problem areas are mine as well. I was wondering if, 1. changing to a Gillette Fusion, or, 2. shifting to an electric shaver (the internet seems to favour a Braun series 9) could afford a similarly smooth shave, but without the trauma and bleeding.
    Thank you in advance for your reply, and my best wishes🤝🏻.

    That's the thing with Gillette. People can hate on them all they want. But at the end of the day they're still the best shave you can get with a cartidge razor. I think they learned with their bad advertising choices. But at the end of the day they still produce some great products.

    In 2021, Gillette shortened the microfin guard on the bottom of the ProGlide razor as well as the Fusion 5. These razors no longer protect as well, resulting in a harsher shave & more skin irritation. Gillette obscenely raised prices while simultaneously reducing the quality of their products. Way to go!

    Good video Tony!! You can tell where Gillette is making their money..... Fusion, Exfoliating bar and the ProGlide....it's the only models they keep adding too.

    • @RobertNES816
      @RobertNES816 Рік тому +3

      But it's like where do they go from the basic Fusion design? How many more blades can they add lol. They have themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place. They've pretty much perfected and added onto the Fusion razor for 20 years now. So I'll be a challenge for Gillette to come up with something new.

    • @r0btech
      @r0btech Рік тому +3

      @@RobertNES816 Yep, they have been basically tweaking the original Fusion. That's because it was such a good blade when it came out.

    • @mattjones8254
      @mattjones8254 Рік тому +2

      @@r0btech Yeah it was.... The Fusion was a great blade. You're correct, they are stuck between a Rock and a hard place lol. They have made such phenomenal products, they can't really do better than their premium lines now. My next move, if I were them, would be to revamp the Mach 3 with some of their newer ideas and to mix some of the newer designs with the retro ones..... The Sensor and Sensor excel..... I think that would really well for them.

    • @RobertNES816
      @RobertNES816 Рік тому +1

      @@mattjones8254 Yeah it definitely would. A razor with a smaller head design and that I guess youd call it a "top mount" attachment point is something I prefer. That's one reason why I stick with the Atra over the Fusion. I just like the geometry of how the handle design works over the current razors that mount the cartridge from a rear pivot point.

    • @averageguytested
      @averageguytested  Рік тому +1

    Good video, I would like to ask you two questions
    Which handle do you prefer, this one that is fixed or the handle of the Gillete Flexball that moves?
    Do you think the vibrating handle like on the Flexball Power is beneficial or is it better without the vibration?

    • @averageguytested
      @averageguytested  Рік тому

      So this handle does have the flex disc technology, which I like better than the flex ball. If I have the power option I’d always go with that though - but it’s really a minimal difference to the overall shave. It’s just really cool - thanks for watching 👋🏽
