Tone Brassy/Orange hair with Box Dye - IT WORKS - CHEAP!!

- Hi everyone - I did what most people do... dye their hair and it turns out like freaking CRAP!!!!! My hair was orange... I tried a few things and finally decided to go with a medium ash dye to tone out the brass.
I watched a million videos to figure out what to do and finally came up with trying this since ashy color is "cool" and would hopefully tone down the orange!
I am super awkward and ramble, please don't judge :) :) I'm just trying to help some people out that were in the same boat as me!!!
Here is the product I used: L'Oreal Paris Superior Preference Fade-Defying Shine Permanent Hair Color, 7.5A Medium Ash Blonde - Розваги
Best way to tone down brassy orange hair is DARK BLONDE, that is what hairstylist told me and was right. First results might be bit dark than u want, but when u keep washing ur hair it will get lighter-after 3rd washing its light, but not brassy!
what about yellow hair?
Thanks for that..I put medium blonde hair dye on my hair yesterday to get rid of orange/yellow tones and now my hair is very dark..somehow I can’t get use to it
You're right. I always use Garnier Belle Color 4 Dark Ash Blonde.
If you use medium ash blonde or light ash blonde you avoid it going too dark, just use with a level 10 developer not a 30 like what comes in the box

I did this exact thing and it worked! It's darker than I wanted. But in time I hope to get it lighter. But omg the ugly brassy color is gone! I love it. So pretty. Thank you for this it saved my hair!

EDIT: I felt it was important to add my hair was a level 7-8.
Omg! I was fighting to get the orange out for a week but it wouldn’t budge. After using the box dye in this video my hair is soooo much better! I still have a few strands of orange but that’s because I didn’t bleach it enough. Most of my hair is perfect. It’s tolerable for a few months for my hair to heal. Thank you so much!!

Thanks for this! I've been trying to get back to my natural color, which is a very odd medium ash blonde/ strawberry ginger color, and unfortunately I landed at "very ginger with too-light roots" instead. I'm hoping your solution works for me!

I have also used this to tone orange hair. It does work.
Will it work on natural medium dark brown? I just used medium chestnut brown and it’s dark and brassy red!!!!! Doesn’t look like the box at all.

I look like a clown orange and yellow tried to dye it again and looks the same I’m embarrassed to go outside lnao
I had level 6 orange hair, and used this 7.5a hoping the developer could get it up a level and tone it. Now my hair is like level 4.5 and just as brassy. 😭 was too lazy to go to Sally’s and now my hair is just ugly and fried. Hope it washes out. Just gonna stick with blue toners for a while…
Do you think if I want more of a dark golden blonde that I should get a neutral blonde or a golden blonde if my hair is already orange
Use a darker blonde color but that has ash in it. Ash tone will help get rid of the orange/brass. Check out L'Oreal 7A Dark Ash Blonde.

Did you dye or bleach when it turned orange? Dark Burnette here, lighten color with dye blonde dye and its now orange/red hair
I dyed it with super light platinum blonder and this happened, so I never bleached it but just dyed it really light!!! Hope it works/worked for you!!
Unfortunately L'Oreal doesn't make this shade anymore at least not in the EU so I use Garnier Belle Color 4 Dark Ash Blonde instead.

HSP I would suggest giving your hair a break, especially if you’ve lifted your hair more than once with bleach. Maybe wait a day or two, unless you’re working with extensions or a wig!

Ding ding ding my flipping hair is orange after bleaching it and leaving the bleach on for 45 minutes while I box dyed it last month Brown and I put blonde highlights in it and they turned Orange so I completely bleached my whole head and now it looks Orange and now I'm going to do what you're doing I bought ash blonde hair dye and I'm hoping it works too xo

@@mell6243 hi Mell I used the most cheapest ash blonde hair die from Walmart or and u can get it at pick n save it was like less than 3 dollar after I die it with the box die the next day I then went to Sally's and I got Wella t14 and Wella t18 as well as 30 volume cream developer which was the salon care professional and only mix half of each Wella bottle so that I could save the other half for later I let those products sit in my hair for 45 minutes with a bag over my head rinsed it out and any orange or yellow came out no I am not a professional this is what worked for my hair also if you choose to do what I did tone your hair again a month later with the Wella and the 30 volume developer but if your hair is damaged I recommend you get the macadamia natural oil deep repair Masque and that's from Sally's and it's literally like $3 for a little bag of it also if your hair is very damaged I would not recommend you leave that Wella mixed with the 30 Valium developer on I would only leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and just keep checking it those are all the steps I did

@@inacatrin813 a little it made the peachy blonde ash toned blonde and my roots yellow toned but it didnt last long the red tones came through i ended up putting a dark brown over the roots and keeping the ends

Hi look nuts my hair is really red orange I look like a clown I’ve been looking since yesterday I didn’t sleep because I was on UA-cam trying to figure it out and something said to me cover it up with box color so I went to CVS purposely to buy box color and picked up one color and ended up bringing it back before I got to the register kept doing that only I looked at the one that you’ve got and grabbed some pull up to my apartment and I’m sitting here like not wanting to get out of the car because I look like who did it and what for and so I said let me grab the phone and see if I can find a video really quick and I Looked up on UA-cam which box dye covers orange yellow hair and I seen your video with the picture of you holding that box and I thought oh my god that’s what I got so I will update you and let you know
