Gamer Carnage Not quite, the Moon is rather small, and serves as a poor shield to our (by comparison) enormous Earth. In addition to this, it’s rather far from us, and so many asteroids would have zoomed in towards the Earth from other directions, and missed the Moon entirely. Our planet has been bombarded far more than our Moon has, but because of its geological activity, most of the impact craters have been erased and renewed with the crust over time. The Moon on the other hand, is (geologically) dead, and so it has no method of clearing its surface, which is why we see so many craters on it. Love your pfp btw. 😃👍

And, yes, I am suggesting that at one time there was only a small star, growing, eventually a heliosphere was formed (probably soon after the initial formation of the Star (the birth). As the heliosphere flexed outward (grew), the outer asteroid belt began to form (spat from the Sun, suspended between the Sun and Heliosphere). The Moon has an amazing history and it is amazing how the moon was born. 4.5 billion years ago an asteroid hit Earth and broke into millions of pieces these pieces orbit Earth. some of them are still trapped in orbit. After the asteroid broke up large chunks came together in orbit and within a month The Moon was born and we are still trying to analyze the rocks that the Apollo guys brought back.
Yes, the moon would probably look amazing viewing it from Earth while it changes its colors and cloud patterns to match the activities on its atmosphere if it had at atmosphere.

I always thought the mares were the way the whole moon once looked and its just the rest of the moon that was disproportionately pummeled because that angle of attack is less likely because the earths gravity protects it. I mean it's a relatively narrow corridor around the earth for which an object can hit the direct facing portion of the moon. The original volcanism and tidal forces of the mares over the whole surface causing the tidal locking of it's rotation in the first place.

It was a planet, not an asteroid

Hello NASA Goddard moon Evolution is very amazing
Yes, the moon would probably look amazing viewing it from Earth while it changes its colors and cloud patterns to match the activities on its atmosphere if it had at atmosphere.

Let's call it Luna!
And we are also bored with Titan. I like "moon" cute and short. Btw i am from saturn.
Here in brazil is "Lua".
taunting _ I bet other moons are jealous that they don’t have a 4 character name, lol
Nah I mean a single name used in all countries bc in my language it's Luna too
قال الله تعالى ( فَمَحَوْنا آيَةَ اللَّيْلِ وجَعَلْنَا آيَةَ النَّهَارِ مُبْصِرَةً )
* سورة الإسراء
* الآية ١٢
From now I will look at Moon with completely different eye.

Wait why didn’t they show the impact on the young earth that form the moon

Animation-
@@RZTheDumbPerson what?! really ?! wow its so realistic I thought it was real

@@RZTheDumbPerson yea
Ew go away
moon with no craters looked like a huge crystal and beautiful
Me: life's hard
Moon: *but this is harder*
O really
Earth : are u ok?
Moon : nah im fine
I always thought the mares were the way the whole moon once looked and its just the rest of the moon that was disproportionately pummeled because that angle of attack is less likely because the earths gravity protects it. I mean it's a relatively narrow corridor around the earth for which an object can hit the direct facing portion of the moon. The original volcanism and tidal forces of the mares over the whole surface causing the tidal locking of it's rotation in the first place.
Fabulous representation from NASA
Animation as came a long way since the 20th century. I want to be an animator one day.
2:07 that kid who always claps last
Moon was bullied so much by meteors and asteroids then
Woooow ! it's so realistic ❤️❤️
not really
It's kind of funny that NASA added impact sound effects in space, where sound doesn't carry. But it's a nice video regardless.
