hi jj i never comment but i’m 15 and i think ur super cool, i see a lot of “older” (no offense hahah) adults, your main demographic it seems, and i just wanna say i think it super cool what you do and i feel part of a community, a small one, in a good way, which i think is cool. i personally prefer you and what you do much more than the big guitar channels with millions of subs, because you just seem more down to earth and obviously aren’t out to get popularity or money; you just seem more down to earth and like you genuinely enjoy what you do. which is something i think most of are here. because we love guitar.
I doubt it could be said there's a single underated song on arguably one of rocks finest albums but this one i think comes closest ? What a joysome concoction this one is to hear and indeed play.Adeptly handled as ever by our tutor, especially the last capo'd at 7 version.
Its cool to listen to how you figure out songs. You rock! Nothing but positive things to say about your videos. They have helped me come so far. The first one that got me was over the hills and far away cover on your PT account. Must have been 7 years ago at this point. Love the lessons and appreciate every one but kinda miss when you would just cover a tune and let us figure out what you're doing. But hey NOT complaining here at all
Here's another thought- maybe one guitar is a Nashville tuned or high strung... This coming from going back and listening to the rumours version. Right in the beginning it's definitely got a really light sound. You have the right notes there's just that really thin sound in there too.
PS. Sorry about your Bill's. I'm from just across the border in ONT and I was rooting for them since my bears were out and they are the home team where I am.
JJ,, question, after I again tell you wonderful lesson,, I've never heard anyone talk about , what happens to the guitars tuning after slapping on a cappo?n I always recheck , and it changes the pitch, Ok,, am I the only one that retunes, after the cappo is applied? or am I wasting my time?
It's funny when people claim to have figured out complex guitar parts. For example, someone says they figured out a Derek and the Dominos song. Can't remember which one. Anyway, Bobby Whitlock reports that Eric overdubbed 3 more times on that song. 4 completely different guitar parts layered, each played by only listening to the bass and drum track.
The capo 7 in E sounds amazing. Monday Morning really sounds like he’s doing the same thing at capo 8 in one part. Songs like those two and second hand news are great for trying the different capo positions and shapes.
Beginner here. All videos explain which chords to play, but most of them don’t explain the strumming pattern, up/down etc. I’m not sure why, is it something that’s really obvious to everyone but me?
My videos aren’t intended for beginners. Strumming is down to feel. Up-down-up-down doesn’t describe proper strumming. If you put in the time, strumming will come.
this video about this 3 chord song teaches you more than anything on ultimate guitarist could ever do
Sure would like to see you back. Miss these lessons. You are the best out there

Well put, young man...Rock On
@@southpaw1959channel thank you:) you too!!
@@itsjustmeMike527 i’m aware:) i love that channel too; thank you
Very nice lesson. Moving the capo to different positions give this song a Mandolin feel. Thanks for sharing this lesson
You are amazing. I love your videos. You always pick out such great songs to play. Thank you so much
You know you are the best song guitar 🎸 teacher on u tube. Believe me I'VE looked.

Another good strummer to add to the strum bank....Thanks!
Thanks for a great lesson, your taste in rock / pop music (and guitars) is impeccable.
Excellent!! Capo 5 G progression!! Thanks!
Thank-you James James, this is on my song-list, very helpful! Love the Superbird on the shelf!
Listen to this guy-he has a good ear and really helped me find the right sound for this song.
Awesome. Thanks for posting your videos. There appreciated.
Clicked on it when it looked like it was being blocked, but here you are. Cool.
Your insights are much appreciated! 👍🏻

A very insightful lesson. Many thanks.
Really like this analysis.
Yes... that song definitely has very full sounding chords... great song
Great song and lesson!
The also had a 12 string acoustic lying around somewhere in the studio... You know: the one they used on some other track about going your own way...
Any chance you could do another video on the solo in this song. That would be rad you're really good at getting it across. Thanks
Deffo the second guitar for me.More vibrant all round.
Its awesome the way you switch between the J200, Bird and Dove. One thing I wonder about is, why don't you have a j45?
The walk-down occurs at 1:11 on the 2004 remastered studio version.
Nice Choice.

What kinda animal is on that shirt?
What a great lesson on chord voicings! You're a great resource James!
Go Your Own Way is one of those Lindsey multitrack guitar songs too. Not as many as some though.
Another great lesson ... But Go Bruins.......
I wouldn’t doubt there is a Nashville tuned guitar in the mix
PS. Sorry about your Bill's. I'm from just across the border in ONT and I was rooting for them since my bears were out and they are the home team where I am.
Great lesson my brother. When you get a chance, check Lindsey’s demo of the song on UA-cam.

Great song, Let’s Go Rangers! Hahaha

Nashville tuning on one of the guitars.....

All those songs are Buddy Holly rewrites if you think about it.
How does Lindsey Buckingham play the walk-down in the first part of the song. It only happens once before they repeat the verse?
Is there a mandolin in the background on the original?
I don’t hear one, but maybe.
Just asking because of the high pitch on the strings. I don't know either!

Sounds like a 12 string guitar to me. Capo on 7th sounds right.
DADGAD
... and you couldn't move the capo up and down the neck, you had to show off with all your acoustic beauties! :-)
I should have brought out another one for an additional tuning.
