Alcohol ink painting on canvas tutorial.

  • Hi, friends, I can see in this I decided to experiment and draw carotene with alcohol ink not on synthetic paper, but on canvas.
    I liked the result and I hope this video will inspire you to try unexpected combinations in search of a new one 😉
    I previously covered the canvas with two layers of varnish so that the ink would not be absorbed into it immediately.
    If you have additional questions, write in the comments, I will definitely answer 🙂

    You said, "If you have additional questions, write in the comments, I will definitely answer" but i see viewers asked questions many months ago that are still unanswered. I was gonna ask one, but it looks like that'd be a waste of time. What gives? In case this does prompt you to follow through with answers, my ? is: hair dryer on just air & no heat, or low heat, or high heat: what did you use/what do you suggest? Thanks.

    • @ubiquitousLeees
      @ubiquitousLeees 6 місяців тому +2

      I’m not the artist in the video but I can answer your questions. Using the least amount of heat possible is necessary as the heat causes the alcohol to evaporate more quickly. In order to achieve this sort of effect you need a lot of alcohol to move around.
      A tool that outputs a “cool” setting with lower wattage so the air flow is not heavy, causing all that liquid to blast off the canvas, is ideal.
      I hope this is helpful, and sorry for butting in.

      It's *_canvas!_* Canvas is a material; it's not paper. It's cotton - or sometimes linen - generally coated in gesso by the manufacturer.
      Every art and craft shop in existence sells canvases. Museums and galleries the world over have millions of canvases hanging in them. Every homeware shop from the most expensive to the most basic will have canvases for sale. Most homes will have at least one canvas on their wall.
      I'm not entirely sure how the existence of canvas has passed you by your entire life!

      Am not an expert by any means ..I've so far only worked on yupo/plastic but if your ink is drying too quickly then your dryer is either too hot or too strong (in the wattage). I watched a heap of YT videos on alc inks and then checked in their description boxes for a link to the dryer they were using. I've been struggling with the dryer I had but am now waiting on a 300w dryer I saw Tiffany Solario using. Look at some tutorials you really like...maybe ask some questions...good luck xx

      @nlm8487 Рік тому +3

      There is no way that it was water in the glass. Water should never be used with alcohol ink as it would breakdown the binders in the pigment. I would guess it could either be alcohol ink blending solution which can be purchased online or at your local craft store like Michaels, Hobby Lobby -or- it could be just the 99% isopropyl alcohol. Using blending solution will give you more working time where using isopropyl alcohol your working time is much less because alcohol evaporates quickly. The blending solution is not very cheap and by the amount that was in the glass it seems like it was almost the entire bottle and if this is real time in completing this pretty canvas I would guess isopropyl alcohol, but I could be wrong. Either one you where to choose you cannot go wrong. I hope this helps! 😊
