I agree with you in almost everything, I really hate when people search too much for perfection in lenses, when the imperfections are what give the lenses their character.
Right, if you`re really looking for the lens that is PERFECT in everything, then your budget should not be $400 :)
Imperfect lenses are soooo much more fun I fully agree
this lens sucks, what a shill
Brilliant, straight-forward review. I'm a new fan. Thanks for the video!
Looks like an awesome lens - thank you for bringing it to our attention, Joris 🙏🤘
Cheers so much for your time
We don't live in a perfect world with perfect gear but this will do me just fine ☺️❤
Hoe toevallig, Heb deze vorige week gekocht en gaan ze morgen leveren. 🥳
Gracias, un excelente video con muchas verdades sobre el presupuesto y el cine... Saludos desde Guatemala, Julio Apopa.
Hey man! love the video... we were about to use this for a shoot but were wondering if this vignettes and swirls the edges on Full Frame the way that the 7artisnas 35mm T1.05 does??
Great showcase
I was looking for somebody to test out this series of lens with the new BM FF. Thank you! this is exactly the conformation I was looking for. Moving forward with my order!!!
This lens was literally made for the BM FF in my opinion. I'm glad I went for the L-mount instead of Sony E 🔥💯
Nice review. How would you compare the Spectrum vs the Vision other than the T stop?
This very lens is my first cinematic lens in the kit and I have shot almost every video on my youtube channel and for my clients on it. Its a really good lens if you want to get a hang of a feeling of cine manual lens.
Great video, edit and awesome audio. Now let's hope they make a 24mm.
looks buttery!!! Not sharp but not blurred
Amazing!
It's a fantastic lens this is just amazing but I have a question can I use this with CANON R50
I would love to see you do a compare of how the cine lens looks compared to the photo lens at the same aperture.
Interesting idea 🤔
I completely agree with you when it comes to the focus breathing "issue". I've seen A list movies with A list actors that with very noticeable focus breathing and literally makes no difference! Haha great review man
Yeah, if you really pay attention to it, you can see it in a lot of movies 🤷🏻♂️
I wish I could compare em with the Rokinon series
the filter thread seems a bit far . how does it look when you add a vnd?
What lens do you use in your youtube studio?
Hi is this lens available for lumix g7, you know the M4/3?
I love focus breathing too, but I agree that there are some not so good looking focus breathing lenses out there.
Just the video I needed, I’ve been looking at getting the whole set. Now I just need to save up 😂
nice lens...i have the 35mm ....and its superb....
A signature look for young film makers
Only thing I had about the 35mm is that they give you a big ol body.. but the glass is so tiny! I know it's just me I know I know... I love having the glass full to the body not so much anti reflection surface inside it like the front of that one. Looks like an awesome lens and I'd buy this over the nightwalker lenses anyday of the week. These are bigger and better
Is it compatible with sony zv e 10?
Are the lenses sharp enough to shoot in the super16 mode to get 100fps? I’m wondering how well the lenses resolve with that much of a crop factor.
In my opinion, yes, but we all have different standards so it's definitely not an objective statement.
Does this work in a7iii
I just bought the full set of lenses, 35, 50, and 85. I found a really major problem that no one is talking about in the reviews. Each lens has strong color variations. The 35mm even seems to have a warm coating, it makes everything look like Mexico in Breaking Bad. Not having color consistency in a set of lenses is serious. I would go for the classic Roklinon cine DSX lenses.
Interesting point ! Did you shoot using Log profiles color, or something like rec709 ?
I’m trying to get a full set to test it on my channel (en français) and thanks to your comment I’ll pay attention on the color consistency between lenses
hello! Yes, I shot in rec 709 so I could see the inconsistency better. In post it is not difficult to match, in fact you can do it from the camera with a custom white balance. I will be watching your channel.
Thanks Joris! What do you think of the new BMCC FF 6K?
Hey! BMCC FF Review coming soon... spoiler alert: I like it! 😎💯
@@JorisHermans haha love the spoiler! Cheers man!
Ohm my good. Looking so good. l would kill for it. I mean. Yeah. Nice :) 😁
Question, how much resistance do you get from the L mount system when trying to attach the lens to the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6k? I just gotten my lens (Brand new) and trying to get it on the camera is absolutely impossible. When the red dot on the lens and the camera are aligned, the lens falls perfectly into position and creates a somewhat tight seal, but it is absolutely impossible to turn the lens and get it to lock into place. It requires so much strength to turn that I know something is wrong. I won't be winning a strong man competition any time soon, but I doubt one needs to be a prime Arnold to attach a lens to a camera. The Cinema Camera lens cap sides on in the same fashion as the lens, however, it very easily slides into place after it is aligned properly. Outside of that, it feels like a very quality build, but the most important part of the lens seems to not function properly. Super disappointing.
Update. I was wondering if the issue was with the L mount on the camera or the lens. It is definitely the lens. I purchased an L to M42 adapter and it fits perfectly into my Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6k Full Frame. It sucks because the lens does have a great feel, weight and sturdiness to it. But if the mount is faulty, its more or less a paper weight. Now it'll need to be shipped back to China for a replacement which is ok, but I wanted to use these lenses on a project and this nightmare has put the kibosh on that. You get what you pay for. I'd imagine this mount issue isn't a one off.
What is the filter size if I don't wanna buy step up or step downs?
82mm.
Do you use a shotgun mic or lav for your audio in these videos bro?
I use a cheap condenser mic: Oktava MK-012
@@JorisHermans may be cheap, but sounds amazing!
@@mv2creative Agreed! But they're difficult to find these days
whats focus breathing
That it looks like the lens is zooming in or out a bit when you're just racking focus.
Is it dificult to focus a person, lets say in a party or someone dancing?
Yes.
super mooie beelden, en ware woorden, imperfecties "zijn" karakter is mijn idee. Altijd leuk dat engels, troet of nie?😂
Truth 💯😅
What is the diameter for the filter ND ?
82mm
Thanks @@JorisHermans
I wonder what art people would create in the future generations, considering how cheap the tools to create art are becoming every day❤...
people are not doing anything anymore...... AI 🤣
@@emielkeultjes well that's the catch 😂
Probably just make garbage transitions with no story so DJI shares their stuff.
It's not yourvideo without your rant^^
Too much creme isn't good for you. haha!

I use it for 1 years now on 16 projects. I want to sell it! the blue cast that take the whole frame when there is sun or heavy light the footage become unusable even with matte box and ND. It doesn't match at all with the 50 and 85mm. Terrible focus breathing when you are on tripod. The ring is not smooth at all, some electronic follow focus can't get the auto calibration because of that. And forget to put a follow focus on iris. Instead buy a dzofilm 35-80 for 1500.
How are you comparing all those automated needs to a manual concept? If cinema isn’t your thing then maybe switch everything over to automated work flow (focus, wb, iris, etc).
@@Leimertstudiosllc ??? Wtf are you saying
Some of the absolute kings of cinema lenses have focus breathing and we all fell in love with movies. It’s time we start embracing the reason why are all even here. 🎥🫂
