    I just got the 14mm lens and it's amazing. Still playing around with it.

    I really liked the look of the short doc you shot on these and was surprised to hear that it was shot on these lenses as I'd seen mixed stuff with them. You'd definitely changed my mind on them but the colour shift issue seems to be a sticky issue

      Yeah the colour shift seems to be the biggest issue with these.
      I’ve read a lot about them and it would seem across the whole lens range the colour repro is massively different.
      It’s a shame as build quality and size and look is pretty nice.
      But having that variable is a huge issue for me.
      Cheers for watching

      @@IanSnape yeah would love a compact set of cine primes for my LUMIX set. Maybe it's the Athena's 👀

    I Bougt the 50mm and 35mm. The 35mm had a very strong green tint so I returned it. The 50 is ok but you better get DZO or NiSi.

    Hi, thanks for the interesting video ! To me the color shift is terrible between the 2 lenses. The concept of a cine set is to get the same colors from all the lenses and not become crazy when you're editing the full film.

      Yeah I’ve heard the 85mm and 50mm are also bad but I was quite surprised by how different they rended the colour…
      Not even close…
      Thanks for watching.
      Appreciated.

      The problem is not only when shifting between the set. The 35 has a huge green tint, you can see it by eye. I still use it because I love the look and size. But you need to WB every-time, no preset are possible unless you pre-correct the presets (which is quite easy on Lumix). @@IanSnape

      @@enricoparenti3057 How you match color between lenses?First set WB(cool/warm) and then reduce green(in 35mm) and magenta(in 14,50mm)? Then save it in preset?Thanks

      @@AlexAlex-ge7ow Hi. Are you asking? On the S1 Lumix line. You can adjust presets by shifting the color wheel. Still, you need to reset it when you change the lens. Or just white balance as often as possible. Or save various presets on custom white balances.

      @@enricoparenti3057 Thanks
      Do you need create proper WB of lens(35,50,85mm) and made them look the same(equal) every new shoot or its possible to do it only once by saving 3 WB presets?

    Would putting ND filter on these lenses soften the image further to give a more cinematic look ?

    • @IanSnape
      @IanSnape  2 місяці тому +1

      An ND wont soften it but something like a mist filter would. What is a cinematic look?

    • @sagarkochar
      @sagarkochar 2 місяці тому

      @@IanSnape ahh ok I see your point, I'm beginning so learning the difference between filters and what they do is important. By cinematic look I mean that creamy look you get in a movie (I'm not talking about aspect ratio).

    Another question can i buy the L mount spectrum version for my Lumix siix full frame cam and adapt the same lense on a Fujifilm xh2s which is an APS-C cam with x mount ?.......would that be possible or not ?

    • @IanSnape
      @IanSnape  2 місяці тому +1

      No they only make mounts for certain cameras, another downfall of these lenses as discussed in the video.

    To everyone don’t buy the set. Used them for 1 years (17 projects with them), the 35 is unusable, too much blue flare that take the whole image and got a vintage look but the 50 and 85 are modern looking and much more downsides but I’m lazy to write it down 😅

    • @IanSnape
      @IanSnape  4 місяці тому

      Haha thanks for the info, I haven’t tried the 50,85 but heard they are all varied!
      Crazy that there is so much variation across the whole set!
      Thanks for the info and watching 👀

      I have a 35 and an 85 on L mount. 35 is 1150K Warmer B+2 M+2. Focus ring also has different stiffness. 35 feels like a thorium hexanon and 85 feels like a modern sigma.
