The familiar voices of the WOSU Buckeye Replay team back when live TV coverage of CFB games was much more rare. OSU regular season games were shown live maybe what, a couple of times per season? I used to watch the WOSU replay on Saturday night and sometimes again on Sunday morning. Even though you know who's going to win this game it's hard to see how they're going to be able to pull it off.
By '89 it was more often than that. Probably 3/4 or more of Ohio State games were live on TV. Let me see what I can remember from this season: Oklahoma State - No. OkState was on probation which included a complete ban on live TV broadcasts. That used to be a thing. @ USC - Yes, on ABC. Boston College - No. Remember listening to this game on the radio at my grandpa's. @ Illinois - Pretty sure it was. Indiana - I think so but possibly not. Purdue - I don't think so. @ Minnesota - Yes. This is a WOSU replay but this game was live on ABC. @ Northwestern - Definitely was not. Iowa - Yes. Wisconsin - Can't remember. @ Michigan - Duh. So that's 3 games that were 100% not on live TV and maybe 1 or 2 others that may not have been. Actually more than I thought, but the non-televised games were starting to go away. I'm not sure if OSU has had a nontelevised game since their '96 game with Bowling Green. Possibly 2000 against Akron but that may have been on the syndicated version of ESPN+.
I was fortunate enough to fly up there for this game with another OSU alum and friend. The deer-in-the-headlights looks on the Minn fans as we were leaving the Humphrey Dome is forever etched in my mind. Craziest game I've been to. OH- !
I am ashamed to say that I watched the first half and was so disgusted I couldn't make it to the second. A friend came over and had me on for about an hour (time before internet, ya know) before he told me that we came back and won.
My dude Carlos Snow

Minnesota passer was 43% completion rate. Stone Age of offensive football.
Lou Holtz football (though he had left for Notre Dame).
