It actually feels like a counter sniper now. Where 1 critical shot is what matters.

What does "improved ergonomics" actually mean? Less reticle drift/delay hopefully.

I think it's the drag/sway.
The speed at which the rifle's reticle catches up to where you are aiming
It’s the speed of moving the aiming reticle. So like when you’re aiming the gun and try to move your camera you can see that circle reticle that shows where the gun is currently pointing drift behind the camera.
With better ergonomics the weapon will follow the camera more closely and feel more responsive to user input as a result. A lot of the big heavy hitting weapons have terrible ergonomics, but the Counter Sniper stood out as an outlier case with terrible ergonomics for its damage profile to the point where even the Anti-Material Rifle had a faster reticle adjustment before this recent buff.
The little floaty circle when you aim is where the shot will land. You'll notice when you switch your aim with a heavy weapon the circle takes a moment to catch up.
Ergonomics is basically how fast that circle returns to the centre from turning or recoil.
new primary: baby AMR
This thing now one shots devastators up to 125m away, as opposed to its previous limit of 20m. It’s very good now, and I’m loving the changes.
I was running DCS pre update, and they made it better, im in love with it, it "almost" outshines AMR for me
I've also been using The DCS before the patch now I can be a more effective sniper taking down devestators in one shot in the head and if there's a hulk I switch to the AMR and shoot the eye slot twice or one shot in the eye slot and one shot in the heatsink to take them down.

I liked the DCS pre buff, because it jusf one shots small bots, but post buff, the consistency of it is just off the charts. Pulled off killing 3 devastators in 3 shots in the span of 5 seconds. Just insane. At high tier I used to run AMR to deal with Devastators and Hulk and Spear for base destruction, tanks and Factory Striders. But now I feel like I can drop AMR and use Spear exclusively instead. I'm a lot less flexible against Hulks but my squadmate takes care of that while I deal with the fabricators and striders.
That's anti material in the thumbnail not counter sniper.
good buff tho been using it since it had light armor pen and have always thought it was good if you had good aim

The problem with both sniper rifles is of course there is a third sniper rifle called the dominator. The dominator does about 2x the damage with the same ammo capacity. Why stress headshots when I can 2-3 tap them and if I get a head shot, great, if not it staggers so no big deal. With the changes a fully loaded out helldiver with the Diligence CS does 12600 dmg. The Dominator at the same penetration can do 24750. For ammo reasons alone, the Diligence loses.
How about against heavies like hulks or the vented canons and tanks?

I actually didn't mind DMRs but it was admittedly ridiculous that it would use up an entire mag basically to take down 1 Devestator or Berserker.

Counter sniper trivializes devastators. I constantly find myself headshotting missile devastators from 100-200 meters away easily. It is shockingly consistent at thise super long ranges where you won't think youll be able to headshot, but you do.
a scope option would be best, like a scope that would see through smoke and be able to tag enemies. This would make the snipers something unique in class. The game has a huge problem with visibility and in some maps its impossible to use a long range weapon.
I was so happy to unlock it but a bit sad to find out it was so difficult to use/unrewarding it was at times, but I still used it regardless because I love DMRs. Also, nice choice in music ;)
Give your diver time to turn before you crouch and then fire for maximized stability. And dont rely on turning too hard between targets while aiming. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast ;p
How does it compare to the amr now?
Very favourably. Previously you had to switch to AMR to deal with Devastators but now the DCS can easily deal with Devastators on its own with careful aiming. The DCS is still useless against Hulks though so that's where you might want to use AMR instead.
Plus it's really easy to deal with a crowd of bots from range because you can switch targets pretty much effortlessly.

Honestly I found this and not put it down I use gas lazer orb and jet pack with sniper and diligent fucking decks automatons and even bugs I killed a bike titan with sniper just hard trying to not get trampled but if you get underneath you can blow it’s guys out and it insta dies just get ready to dive or have a big grave
God i hope they don't nerf it... Seems like not many people noticed this gun yet
looks good, but not nearly as versatile as scorcher/dominator not sure how it deals with walker armor too, and to be fair you will be constantly flinching while fighting devastators ruining your aim
@@icata12345 it shouldn't be used in direct confrontations in usual sense. For that i'm using autocannon. Instead, its best for quickly taking out troopers and devastators. Also, zoning is amazing with new CS

I have been going through online Contant all day long for 12 hours now getting so excited to use the new counter sniper but unfortunately, I have one more task of doing dishes ahead of me before I can finally sit down and sync my teeth into the weapon buff I have been salivating over

the new major order is so damn boring , when i saw that the silos are back i was kinda happy to face some challange... but nah we just speed run in 2 mins and dip ;/
too bad it is still useless if you are playing with 15-30 fps
