Bonjour, J'utilise les peintures vitrail Pébéo depuis 40 ans, elles sont géniales ! 🖌️ I have been using Pébéo vitrail paints for 40 years, they are awesome ! Your suncatchers are magnificent. 👍 💕
I have been a painter since I was 12 and for some years I was a trained stained glass artist. Until I got sick and now my hands cannot cut glass. I am allergic to resin with full PPE on if there is a bit of bare skin on my forehead I get eczema. This I could do but I would use the dyes because to me it has to be transparent. Thank you.
💕thank you for sharing 🥰 stories similar to yours are one of the reasons I wanted to create this product line. The first and last options in this video will dry clear like stained glass. If you're sensitive to smells, the first option may not be ideal, even though it has the most professional finish... the smell isn't strong but if you're working with it for a while in a smaller area without air circulation, you start to notice it. I hope you're able to give them a try, a few new designs are being added tomorrow! Then Christmas designs next week😊.
Just putting my two cents worth in here I have used Tart liquid glass and I have mixed it with alcohol inks. I have also mixed it with Micah powder. I have had a couple pieces that I’ve done for over a year and I have no yellowing and they were directly in the window. One of them specifically was directly in the window, so I love the liquid glass itself levels as welland very little bubbles to have to contend with. It actually even stops itself you know at the edge of your peace you know which we were doing it on glass actual glass.
I believe you mean TriArt Liquid Glass, and yes! I would expect that to work as that is more of a varnish. They call it a resin but it's much different than an epoxy resin (which is what I'm comparing to in the video). Just like the varnish I'm using, they won't yellow in the sun. So yes, you can definitely use that product on glass or the pieces I'm creating in this video. I'm sure there are many varnishes that can be used, they are very versatile products.😊 It's just a matter of testing with the colorants or pigments that give the look you want.
I. AM. IN. HEAVEN. Seriously, this is a wonderful idea! I swear, I am going to try to put an order together. I always watch your videos just truly am in awe of both your artistry and your creativity.
I am always happy for creators who have brought their ideas into fruition. 🙌🏻. I have so many ideas’ that I personally feel will be a good addition to your acrylic sun catchers, and/or art piece. I can hardly wait to see how this grows for you. ***I like using resin. However, I learned that direct sunlight is not resin friendly. Sad, because I, too love pieces I can hang in/outside. I’d love to DM you.
Thank you Isabella for support🥰 This trial is very exciting and yes, opens up many new areas of inspiration. If you'd like to share some of your ideas, or to make suggestions, feel free to email me at liadiadesigns@gmail.com or you can DM me on Instagram @liadiadesigns
Thank you😍 these were the pilot project that led to my current acrylic silhouette inlays 😊. Most of the designs were kept and recreated in the new pieces.
🥰 Thank you! Working on the new designs now! They should be added this weekend, I will make a community post here on UA-cam as well when they are ready💕
Absolutely loved this episode! Thanks for your research and tips and tricks. I will be downloading these. I’ve wanted to do something like this for a while.
🥰Thank you Gail! I've had to postpone the downloadable option for these for now, trying to avoid art theft etc... until I can find a reasonable solution. In the meantime, I'm offering these as "Ready-to-Paint", where I've already painted the outlines and they just need to be filled in with colors... kind of like a coloring book, but with paint!😁.
🤩🥰thank you so much! A dragonfly has had a few requests, so that one is likely to happen! I'm working on the butterfly and sunflower for this weekend, I'll post it here in the community on UA-cam when they are ready!
Thank you for the beautiful video Nadia! I am a novice stained glass window painter and have quite a few of the vitrail paints, which I love, but they are around £5 to £8 in the UK. However, you reminded me that I had some resin pigments that I wasn’t using, so I tried with the acrylic varnish but they separated (water?), however they seem to work fine in the Vitrail Lightening Medium, so now I have a bunch of new colours (subject to testing). Your creativity is inspiring and infectious, I went straight into my craft room after watching you and started my experiments 😂 x
🥰That's amazing Kate! There are so many formulas of resin pigments - if yours works with the vitrail lightening medium, that means yours is solvent based, where the dyes I used are water based as is the varnish I use. Best of luck! I hope you have great success with your experiments!
Those are beautiful designs. I love the stained glass look for sun catchers. Vitrail is a great paint for glass. We used to mix our own paint in the stained glass studio where I worked, it wasn’t a simple process. I would’ve preferred working with Vitrail. There’s another brand called Primary elements, arte-pigments by Colourarte. They have mica’s for both paint and resin. Their paint mica can also be mixed with dura-clear and their resin mica is designed to basically ‘melt’ into the resin. So you don’t have any unmixed mica issues. They’re not cheap either but, they are really vibrant, beautiful and easy to work with. Their mica that is designed for paint (Primary elements) doesn’t mix well with resin tho.. I discovered that in the middle of a project.😂 I haven’t tried mixing their resin mica with dura-clear yet. I think your ready to paint sun catchers is a great idea! I’ll have to check them out for girls night.😊
That's so interesting, I haven't heard of those before. I love the quality of the pebeo vitrail paints, such a pretty finish. A girl's night would be perfect for these!💕
I think Duraclear (or one of them) makes an iridescent varnish that might give the color change effect while being more transparent that would be good for the wings.
Love this! Ive been glass painting for 4 years now. Pebeo products r my fav. If u use Michaels coupon u can get them for about $5.00 to $6.00 each here in Canada. Plus there is Pebeo Vitrea 160 glass paint (not the Vitrail) which is not solvent based.❤😊
🥰thank you,. Yes, you can get some great discounts at Michael's. I have many of the different products from Pebeo, it's almost as if I collect them lol. I prefer the vitrail over the Vitrea and Porcelaine on these stained glass pieces personally, but they can definitely work.
I’m hoping this really takes off and you make more designs. I would love to see some Christmas ornaments, but this must be a huge time commitment for you. I’m so excited to receive my order. Thanks❤️❤️❤️
🥰Thank you so much Donna! I'm working on 3 new designs to launch for tomorrow - then moving on to Christmas ornament designs! So hopefully those will be ready next week some time. I would love to see this take off as well, I'm willing to put the time in!💕
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have always been a great fan❤❤❤ and you never disappoint us. You are really super talented and you think out of the box. Love it❤❤❤❤
I just ordered the whole set! I have a plethora of mica powders & resin dyes, but decided to buy the vitrail paint set too so I have the best chance for success with my investment. I'm very excited to get them and get busy. Thanks for your excellent and very informative video Nadia. I'm glad I got my order in before they are all gone.😊
🎉🥰 Thank you so much Sheila! I saw your order come through! You will LOVE the finish of the vitrail! I'm so excited about the response on these and I hope to add more designs soon!
Hi Barbara! I'm so glad you like them. I have shipped a number of orders to Australia 😊 On my website liadiadesigns.com you can add your items plus there's a listing for International Shipping, this adds $10 to the usual shipping fee of $15. If you order over $100 in items, the $15 Shipping is Free, and you'll just pay the $10 for shipping😊.
Yay!🎉🤩 thank you! The dragonfly is being finished up right now and will be online tomorrow! If you decide to buy it tomorrow, I'll add it to your order, just email me at liadiadesigns@gmail.com 😊
💕thank you, for option 1 no - it's already formulated with it's own protection, for the other 2 options, I personally don't think it's necessary, but it wouldn't hurt anything if you did.
🥰 Thank you! Yes! I plan on adding an option to mix and match your own bundle...but haven't had a chance yet. But, feel free to order one of the other bundles and in the notes you can let me know that you want a custom order with these designs. If you don't see a note area (there should be...but just in case), you can email me after at liadiadesigns@gmail.com and provide the instructions there.😊
Beautiful!! Not sure when you drill a hole in the acrylic to hang them but my advice to drill before you work on it because drilling sometimes can cause shatter the piece especially if it’s not thick (my art teacher told us that in high school, still buzzing in my ears 😂) just wondering, is alcohol ink an option instead of resin dyes?
💖thank you! I haven't had any issues so far with cracking while drilling, though I do drill pretty slow so the bit heats up a little, seems to help. I personally don't recommend alcohol inks as they are known to fade, but some have success with them. 😊
I have been looking for something like this for literal ages! I loved doing the cheap kits as a kid, and wanted an adult version. My only concern (and why I am not purchasing at this time) is that there appears to be no lip around the edge. I understand the fancy border is time consuming, but in order for the paint to stay on the board. Unless I just can't see the border around them in the images. Truly, though, I LOVE these, I'll buy every single one you come out with, and possibly multiples, if I knew they had a lip/border around them (just a simple outline border is really all I want). If you're taking requests for other patterns, I need a ladybug, an owl (or three!!), a dragonfly, and various flowers. I think roses are overdone, but things like irisis, peonies, snapdragons --- OOOHH, a dragon would be great! Really, REALLy want to see where this goes!
I'm so happy that you like the idea and have so many great suggestions for new designs. I can add an option on the designs to add the border, but it will be with an added cost... likely $3 extra... let me know what you think, I can make the change to the website later today. 😊
Also, just wanted to mention, that the Princess Peach piece I showed in the video also did not have a border... no issues with the paint staying on the board. But I understand your preference, so I'm happy to add the option with an extra fee
Your artworks are so gorgeous!!!!!! May I ask you about the material you made the border? It looks like silver, it's so niceeeeee!!!! May I ask the name of the glue you use to made a border? You inspired me for my school's assignment but I cannot find the glue T.T Thanks for sharing us amazing artworks
Great minds think alike. I am doing the same thing and some with colored glass on frames like 8x10 or larger also mirrors. I love this so much. Thanks Nadia.... Hope you sell a ton.. hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙
@@lindao7887 Since this is a limited time test period (only until the end of the year), and I'm only handpainting them as they are ordered (not mass manufactured) it's very unlikely that I will have a sale. My Patreon members and UA-cam members are receiving a 20% discount though, so if you wanted to join membership, that could be a possible way to save some money, depending on how many you are planning to order.
Hi! I'm so glad you like them💕, it's been considered and discussed, but no, they will not be available for download. Mass manufacturers overseas are ruining small artists' lives and businesses every day by stealing their work (usually stolen because it was available by download). So, as much as I would like to make my designs available by download, I am also very concerned about how to protect my art. It's already a real struggle for artists to make a living, and art theft is just making things so much worse. I hope you understand💕.
These are beautiful but just wondering about practicality as sun catchers with these products - do you know if the Dura Gloss varnish will crack and peel off the acrylic base over time after long term sun exposure? Also, curious if the Pebeo acrylic outline product can withstand heat from the sun? There are stained glass look paint products available and wondering if those would do better with respect to sun exposure? Just curious😊
Hello! Here's info that I found from the brands' websites when I was ensuring the quality for the suncatchers. For the Varnish: "Brush-on, non-yellowing, polyurethane varnishes that forms a tough, flexible, clear finish that dries quickly. Can be used on most hard craft surfaces, both interior and exterior." For the Outliner: "...essential products for creating magnificent stained glass windows and glass decorations..." and "...offers excellent lightfastness, guaranteeing the durability of your creations over time. Your works will retain their brilliance and vibrant colours, even when exposed to daylight." Hope this helps😊
Of course, there may be extreme circumstances, especially with temperatures escalating in places like Arizona, but we can only go by what the manufacturer's say the products can do and/or were made for, and be reasonable in our expectations. Plus both of these brands are reputable brands that have been around a while, so I'm trusting they know their product's capabilities.
Thank you for such a quick response, I appreciate it! I was just curious because varnish can sometimes crack and peel when left in direct sunlight over time. This is such a great idea, especially being able to bypass resin and get a similar looking result. Thanks again.
I realise that this is a NO RESIN sun catcher but could you use UV resin as this comes in many colours as well as glitter? The mica powder could be mixed with UV resin as well? Plus i have loads of this so would it work?
You could definitely use resin or uv resin if you wish to with these suncatcher pieces. My main concern is with yellowing in the sun, since sunlight accelerates the yellowing of resin. But if that's not a concern, then you can use the products you have!😊🥰
Those would be awesome with alcohol inks but they would fade in the sunlight. Definitely I would love the stencil or the pattern which could lower the price so people would likely be able to buy all three for the price of one hand painted one. I do love the prepainted outlines because I don’t have a steady enough hand to do a good job on the outline myself. On the other hand having an outline to practice on would be a good idea too.
Yes, I don't trust alcohol inks for these. I've decided to temporarily postpone the traceables for now as design theft is a big issue that I haven't decided how I want to deal with ... especially when mass manufacturers from overseas prey and steal from small designers who can't afford the lawyers' fees to go after them. So until I get that part sorted, this is the path for now. I understand it's more expensive, but I believe the end result is worth the price🥰
no, it's an acrylic material, I talk about it in detail in the video. If you're interested in purchasing, feel free to check out my website for all the details
yes we have those here as well - I feel the colours are limited for me, that's why I mentioned the small sets have the "core colours". I'm a "I need all the colours of the rainbow and beyond" type of artist😅 But if you know for sure that you will use all the colours in the discovery set, then it's a great deal!
No, since we're not using resin, you won't need protective equipment. This is one of the main reasons why I love this technique and this non- resin alternative. If you were to choose the first option for pigments in the video, you'll want to work on a room where there's a lot of airflow or you can have a window slightly open... like many paints, it has a bit of a smell. But the other 2 options are water based so no issues with smells or chemicals 😊
If you're using one of my outlined ones, you'll just need to fill in the colors... It really depends on your painting speed..I would say an hour or less.
This is a great idea! They are so pretty. You’re really talented ❤. I understand not sharing your drawings. I do wish you could develop a few though. I would love to make some of these from start to finish. Not to sell them, just to make for fun and enjoyment. Just my thoughts. ❤
🥰Thank you Mary. I absolutely have spent months considering how to share my designs and make them accessible for those who want to create similar pieces of art...for now, this is the avenue I've chosen, but there are many more plans for the future!
I just searched to see where you haveva tutorial with the actually oitline around the acrylic and i can't find it? How do you make the contour oon the border of the acrylic please? Thanks
There are many videos on my channel where I discuss the outliners - but this one may be the most helpful to you - with alternative options as well. ua-cam.com/video/nS7eoiw_bbI/v-deo.htmlsi=b9YnRIQWjmkzvCl9

@@LiaDiaDesigns thanks for your reply ♥️
It was great. Do you put the pelaxy glass at the end or leave it?
@@LiaDiaDesigns yes! Please! Well worth it to me. Cannot wait to see the designs you come up with.
@@LindseyLouCats The website has been updated!🥰 I'm sure there will be a few others who appreciate your suggestion to have it added.💕
Your artworks are so gorgeous!!!!!! May I ask you about the material you made the border? It looks like silver, it's so niceeeeee!!!! May I ask the name of the glue you use to made a border?
You inspired me for my school's assignment but I cannot find the glue T.T
Thanks for sharing us amazing artworks
It's an acrylic outliner, I have many tutorials on my page where I explain this product.
@@LiaDiaDesigns thank you so much
They are so beautiful 😍 can you please write down the materials you used?
Thank you💕 everything is listed and linked in the description below the video
What did you use to make the drawing on the glass? Beautiful work. Thanks
💕It's an acrylic outliner
Do you have a video on how you do the outline of the design?
Great minds think alike. I am doing the same thing and some with colored glass on frames like 8x10 or larger also mirrors. I love this so much. Thanks Nadia.... Hope you sell a ton.. hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙
🥰Thank Sheryl! Sounds great! Hope you are doing well😊
Love them!!! Can't wait for Christmas designs, think they'll make it for this year? Hope so!!! Going to the website right now!!! (Are they about 4"?)
🥰 Yay! Thank you Linda! Yes! I'm working on the designs, so hopefully next week or at latest by the end of this month!
Any chance the price might go down or there may be a discount coming up?
@@LiaDiaDesigns
@@lindao7887 Since this is a limited time test period (only until the end of the year), and I'm only handpainting them as they are ordered (not mass manufactured) it's very unlikely that I will have a sale. My Patreon members and UA-cam members are receiving a 20% discount though, so if you wanted to join membership, that could be a possible way to save some money, depending on how many you are planning to order.
These ones are 6" diameter
Do you have a video that shows what it’s used to paint the out line and what is used to fill in the colours
This video shows 3 options for the colours. I have many videos on my channel that show the outliner.
Lovely process. What do you use to paint the outline?
it's an acrylic paint - I have many videos about it on my channel
I love these, do you think you might do a dragonfly?
🥰 I think I might! It's been added to my list!
Hey there!
Is it possible just to get the Designs as Downloads? I Really love them! ❤
I hope you understand💕.
amazing ❤️😍😍😍
💕thank you
These are beautiful but just wondering about practicality as sun catchers with these products - do you know if the Dura Gloss varnish will crack and peel off the acrylic base over time after long term sun exposure?
But if that's not a concern, then you can use the products you have!😊🥰
Can you mix a little mica with the vitrail for a touch of shimmer?
I haven't tried it as I don't like to mess with the their formula out of fear😅 but I may try it on a test piece tomorrow and let you know😊
Those would be awesome with alcohol inks but they would fade in the sunlight.
Are these on glass? I'd love to buk buy some for our disabled crafting day
no, it's an acrylic material, I talk about it in detail in the video. If you're interested in purchasing, feel free to check out my website for all the details
You can get something called Gallery Glass to paint these. Plaid makes it.
I've tried those and didn't like them at all, but you can definitely do that
If you are in UK you can get a Vitrail discovery set for £20.. about 8 colours bottles are smaller but still last a long time.
yes we have those here as well - I feel the colours are limited for me, that's why I mentioned the small sets have the "core colours". I'm a "I need all the colours of the rainbow and beyond" type of artist😅 But if you know for sure that you will use all the colours in the discovery set, then it's a great deal!
@@LiaDiaDesigns I'm the same lol. I need them all. But it's a good starter set
Dana where do you order the sets from in the uk please and loved waiting this tutorial x
💕hi! My website is liadiadesigns.com, I ship to the UK as well, you'll just need to add the International Shipping listing to your order as well😊
Is it necessary to wear protective equipment while doing these? Also, roughly how long does it take to complete one? TIA
Perfect! I was thinking that this is a great gift idea for Christmas. A project for adults and little hands to do together. @@LiaDiaDesigns
Does any of it need to be baked? I thought the outline stuff needed baking to be set? Is this safe for outdoor use when not baked?
Thank you x
No, none of the products I'm using need to be baked. I know the ones you're thinking of, these are different. 😊
Which is the one you use for the outline? Thank you for your fast reply. Just found your videos today. Looking forward to watching more x
This is a great idea love how the one you did turned out 😍
🥰 Thank you! The process of painting these is really fun and relaxing.
I thought the pebeo paints had to be baked? Is that only on glass? If we purchase your ready to paint item do we have to seal it? Ty
Some do, not the one I'm using. No, All the options I provided in this video do not need to be sealed😊
What do you use for the out lining.
it's a type of acrylic paint
How did you attach the plexi glass to the bee shape ?
At the beginning of the video, I show that I'm painting the outlines of the design into the acrylic
@@LiaDiaDesigns you’re very kind ❤️
There are free downloads online you can get.
What did you use to outline the design?

I love Your fingernails 💅
I just searched to see where you haveva tutorial with the actually oitline around the acrylic and i can't find it? How do you make the contour oon the border of the acrylic please? Thanks

What is the solid paint used to make the outlines.
it's a type of acrylic paint
What about your animal collection that you did like the bear, cat etc they are fantastic and would make incredible sets!xxx
🤩💕yes! I'm making a list of requests! Will add these to the list😊
I would simply Take my window color stencils for this. I still have them.

What is the base made of? Is it flat? It looks curved a little…. Like a eye contact?
It's flat... did you watch the video? I went into detail about the base...
