A couple of years ago, Ryan over at Budget Gem or Budget Bust tried out the Dual XPR82D, the $59 Walmart amp that impressed everybody. Today we have the "next gen" version of this amp, branded the Jensen XDA92RB. The amps are very similar except the Jensen model incorporates a Bluetooth module for controlling DSP/LEDs/gain/etc via an app. We'll find out how the app works and if your grandma can use with her Jitterbug cell phone...
The Jensen XDA92RB is rated to deliver (RMS Power):
80 watts x 2 channels at 4 ohms
120 watts x 2 channels at 2 ohms
240 watts bridged mono at 4 ohms
(amp not rated to handle less than 2 ohms stereo or 4 ohms mono)

Oh you have to hook thatt Jensen back up and run it 2 ohm mono. I had two different Jensen 50x2s back in the early 90s one was the gray/silver one ad one was the blue one. I ran both of those at two ohm bridged when do a set of pyles and the other on a pair of 12" cerwin Vega's. OMG that little Escort bumped so hard on those cv's. Spend both of those amps that way for quite a while and never had a problem. They did get reeeeaaaallllly hot though!
I just want to see what it would do.
Jensen XDA92RB Amp Dyno Test Thanks so much for this video hoping to see the Jensen XDA91RB amp dyno test its the mono block version
Will it push a 15 inch bridged....
I second the test on the xda91rb .. Im considering that amp.. There is one major concern perhaps you can answer.. I run my radio through my BT.. Does using the App on the amp interfere with the bluetooth connection on the radio

Probably the cheapest and most accurately rated amplifier I’ve ever seen
Ikr it's crazy when a amp is crappy it posts accurate stats
@Zfb Tln pioneered makes shit amplifiers.
I always tell myself why cheap companies can not take this step be honest with rating. I hope Rockville learns after that lawsuit of bad advertising rating
@Zfb Tln I've owned well over a dozen Pioneer amps, none could make rated power, even the "Champion" series, they overrate just like everyone else.
julio bello Rockville is being sued for 1 line of there subwoofers..not the amps they really have a couple nice new amps out the comp 4 & comp 5 are unbeatable for the clean power they’re making at the price there selling them for
Crazy to see a Jensen put out more than rated when so many other budget brands fall way short of rated.
Ik some of there old amps do these i was suspicious of like serious not much info till now
When jensen originally launched their gear they where intending to be in the sq high end range.
I dunno if they ever put out any quality sq back then, but id image china bought them up and did what they do. Made jensen junk.
But it looks like some hope for them is possible.
Jensen used to be high end
@@twinkyunouwantmycreamfilli8297 china didn't buy them. technically anyways.
@@bugmarkus I remember in the 70s Jensen was too expensive, I had to settle for a lesser brand
Jensen has always done okay amps never too impressive but they get the job done.
In my experience, they did better then expected by myself and others. They're not great but adequate
Bang for the buck! I impressed folks with what I had in jenson power... before that it was RadioShack amps and yea my stereos were always memes! 148spl with two small jenson amps is impressive! And the RadioShack amps did great too but I never ran caps with em so I might have been even louder then jenson using the RadioShack amps
Exactly. It's sad that "Okay" is a term of endearment these days. The bar has been set so low by all the BS manufacturers out there. Thank God for folks like Big D showing us all what's really real
@@303nitzubishi4 Here here! Well put kind Sir.

At that price, I really was dumbfounded that it did better then the rating on each test. Very cool, Jenson...
After seeing your review on this Amp I ordered it from Walmart and picked it up the next day and I was not disappointed at all. This little Amp rocks my 10* alpine type r like nobody's business. And the rgb lighting just makes it even more impressive. It really is a super good deal. Thanks so much for your videos and keep up the good work.
👌😬👍
Congrats on hitting 200k! Keep the great content coming. What you do is much appreciated.
I was on the fence about buying this but after seeing your video, I got it! Your opinion helped out immensely. Thanks buddy!
I was looking for an inexpensive amp to power some bass shakers on my sim race rig. Paired with an existing power this amp fits the bill nicely. Thanks for the review. Picked up 2 before the inevitable price hike. This isn't the first time your content has helped me out. Thank you
This channel is great helped me understand the amp ratings dont mean a thing and tune by ear for best affect!
That would be a good little ampnto wire up my subs in the house! Nice to see a cheap amp have real numbers listed. Thanks for the video man! Keep em comin!
Not gonna lie, saw this in Walmart and was like: “damn, it look good! Wonder if Big D gonna test it?” No lie!!! One week later...
Man i seen it awhile ago personally i knew it wasn't the 600watt 😂 but my Sega looking Jensen are decent im looking at running these now
I like how the channels are equal in power also.
Just bought two of these based on this video. I have always bought big names. Thanks for the video BigD!
I just finished the install of this amp on my StreetGlide. I'm using it to push two 6.5" Kicker Co-axial speakers in the front fairing. I'm very happy with the sound.
I got one of these before I saw your review and test of it and I am pretty pleased with it. It does have a low noise threshold but once you get it dialed in it's good bang for the buck if you need to go super budget.
The amp on my boat running my 8" Kicker tower speakers kicked the bucket this weekend. I ran to Walmart and bought this little amp to get me out on the water......Damn!! This little amp with the Bluetooth features rocks for sure.
Heck yeah !! Love these amp test. Showing real powers so we can make an educated buy. Thank you for all you do Big “D”
I appreciate you guys always watching and providing feedback
Only thing is power isnt everything with an amp

Right? I wish I had a way to search through his videos by amp name or number that way if I want to purchase a new amp I see and I want to know if it's any good I can just search for it and get educated by the big D
Thank you big D for testing this amp I'm currently running the four channel in my motorcycle and this thing really handles I'm running for TX 69 skar audio and this amp is doing everything it's supposed to sounding good clear I love it thank you for the dino I wouldn't have known about it if you didn't show it here on your channel thank you again Big D
Loving the extra edits, with the expanded screen
Nice to see and old name like Jensen putting rated down! I put Jensen Special speakers in my guitar cabinet back in the day, even ran Jet Lightning in my combo amplifier. My first 6x9’s in car audio was Jensen
Pretty cool little amp. Jensen has always been a good budget choice all the way back to the 90s.
Thanks, Big D. Was wondering about this amp. Perfect for my component speakers.
Tnx 4 all ur time and hard work, letting us know what to buy and what not to buy.
Just bought this amp after watching your video!!! 👍👍👍. Used it to replace a factory amp in my FJ Cruiser! What a beast for the price
Awesome 👏
Thanks Bid D. I've been waiting on this one. Color me impressed. Big D has "led" me to buy a new amp
😝👍
Great videos, I watch them ALL. I even watch some many times over.👍 like this one.
I like you can specifically enter numbers like cross over etc that’s like so much easier. Whether they are ttrue to their numbers is another question.
But it did it’s rated numbers! Awesome!
Who would of thought a Jensen Amp would out perform a big name amp .
Great for Jensen. Thanks for another great video Big D your still my favorite.
Thanks brother 👌
That’s actually quite a great deal comparing to other amps.
It’s like a big game to see how long companies can drag out Stone Age tech in car audio, home audio , pro audio have been leaps and bounds ahead of car audio for eons and there honestly is no excuse .
Think I’ll go buy that Jensen 1200 monoblock at Wally World now.
i was very skeptical about buying this amp thanks for reviewing it
I'm building an off road rig and would like some extra bump in the 6x9 door speakers and this will work PERFECT. cheap enough I dont gotta worry about a whole lot. thanks for the review!
Hi big D. Years ago when I was scraping by for my work truck sound system I recycled what I had.
In my 81 GMC Heavy Half I put Jensen 6 x 9 3ways in the corners behind the seat facing forward & 6 x 9 2ways aimed under the seat from behind & connected to the Infinity 3001's in the dash.
The tuner was a Technics unamped head unit that came with front & rear dedicated power amps. (Both with built in eq's).
At 1st I was really disappointed until I was able to dial it in after playing with it.
Damn it sounded good.
Sometimes certain things just work out unexpectedly. Don't be too worried to experiment.
Take care my big bud!
I have to admit I'm impressed. Definitely would recommend over that Boss amp that's always the Amazon best seller!
I bought the mono block and the 4 channel of the line up. I had to return due to no gain adjustments or crossover adjustments. Glad to see they would have done rated power but I need that adjustability as the speakers I had were rated for less power. I just couldn't trust an app to keep it in line. Great video as always. Keep up the great work. Always love watching the amp dyno videos.
They do have adjustments on the app
@@RobertDickens2002 I had seen that but the issue with that was the gain has to be very finally adjusted just can’t be you know set to certain dial so speak but I did like the crossover features being able to just keep it at a solid number as opposed to having to adjust it but when it comes to gains it has to be finely tuned in order for not to be distorting. If it would have just left a gain adjustment I would have been all in. I had even bought the 4 channel for my mids. I returned both and bought a ds18 candy series 5 channel.
Thanx man!
I bought this for my work truck to power cheap components but having trouble with tuning it.. I'll dig into some more of your content.
Congrats on the 200K subs BigD! That amp is at least fun anyway. It stepped up! Stay safe mates!😊👍🏻😷
Thanks brother 👍
I have a jensen 4 channel 400 watt amp from Walmart for 20 years and still going strong. Paid $135 back then, well worth it, pushing Jbl 6x9s and a 10 inch Polk Audio sub.
Ah, Jensen, the first brand I owned which I still own; A1000 amp and a pair of Jensen XS10 subs. Sadly I haven't used them in many years. Not the best stuff ever, but it bumped for a first cheap system and I had a lot of fun building boxes / testing stuff. I'll always have a place in my heart for Jensen.
Yeah boy I bought my first (and last) brand new car in '98 and put a Jensen bandpass box in it I believe they were called G.R.I.P. subs. I bumped them hard for 4 or 5 years on a Jensen 75x2 amp. I have built many systems in my vehicles over the years and that cheap ass BestBuy Jensen setup was far from the worst. I am glad to see Jensen has stayed true to affordable gear rated accurately.
@@303nitzubishi4 For sure. I have no complaints at what I paid for the stuff. I finally got a 10" Jensen bandpass box I use to see at Best Buy, I have not put my XS10 subs in it yet though. The one that said Jensen right across the front acrylic and ports at top towards rear of box, but plan on it at some point as I wanted that box bad back in the late 90's. Yeah it wasn't high end gear, but it did the job fine.
Still have an old pair of Jensen xs12's packed away.
The ones that are mirror blue.
Have the matching 6.5 and 6x9 three ways.
Always did the job.
Probably use them in my 280z for nostalgia.
I'm old..years ago Jensen was the better gear available in my small city in Massachusetts..was in 70's. And we never heard of changing out stock tunes before..nice crisp paper cone speakers were the norm..pre blown from the factory 🏭 😳..or so it seemed as no one had clean sound in the car..till I met 1 guy with windows down and I followed him to learn how that sounded good! I Told my buddy, he had more cash then me!
Buddy put 6x9 Jensen 3way with eq amp..like 50 bucks for the pair.. and holy shit! Compared to stock radio suddenly this trans am was audiophile dream!.was so loud! But I'm listening and trying to figure out why it seemed that sounds missing certain things in the song .then we realized that we had only left speaker connection completed hadn't put wire on the right side speaker yet..the joys of 🍺 & weed! The next week he got KLH 3 ways and new head unit..THAT really kicked it up.
Was a hundred dollar amp or less. Not A1000! I bought this from him after he upgraded again!
Just bought one of these for my underseat subs. Perfect power and price.
And I'm still running the two channel and four channel Dual amps that Ryan dyno'd.
I mean I've hammered them.
Can't kill these things. And they sound good!
Great vid. I have this amp pushing a 10” kicker under my back seat in a Nissan Frontier.
Very impressed, got it all at Wamalart. Dual head unit, I also have this amp in the 4 channel pushing kickers in the doors.
For the money it is a great system that flat out rocks Joe Bonamassa, black label society, clutch. I put both amps behind receiver in the dash. There is that much room after thin head unit.
They get plenty of air. I crank Tool up everyday and still going.
How did you have the amp set up for the kicker I been trying to find out all day long I have the tc10 300 watt peak power 150 watt rms
I thank I'm impressed good choice of amplifier to test and as allways a good video.
I just bought the four channel version XDA94RB thanks Big D for the two channel review
Nice!
I've been following you since the "Big D Wiz" days early on in your channel. I love your reviews. I think we are around the same age. I was around in the late 80's and all through the 90's when bass was king. LOL. I'm still around now. You and I also dig the old school Phoenix Gold and Punch amps etc.
Same here. Class of 1996.
Thank you for enlarging that!
I have bought a few Jensen products and I have not been let down at all, very good bang for your buck
Great feedback
Jensin xs 12" subs were my first subwoofers! We all have to start somewhere! Thanks for everything you do Big D!!
I had a a pair of the "bass" 12's from the mid 90's at one point. Used them for a while after my JL audio 12W3 blew up powered by my crossfire vr302.
@@bigassfordsd I don't know what it was but those subs in a sealed box and a lanzar vibe amp would actually pound. Impressive back then but that was the beginning of car audio for me. I now just have a American bass xr15" which I'm content with. For now...
The V pattern, or what I call the smiley face. Makes everyone smile.
I’ve already had people say that isn’t the best sound but they never used an old school booster EQ 😂
This bit of kit is just as strong as it needs to be seems pretty solid. The channels are remarkably even too.
Most R/L channels are little bit off on most amps, just nature of the beast, gets worse with higher outputs. This amp seems pretty solid for a really compact deal. You could protentially use 2 of these on a stereo board for a Shop radio or whatever with a cheapish bluetooth only HU. Would sound better than any of the pre-made stereo junk they have out on the market today.
Go Jensen doing rated power! Thanks Big D, you da man!!
This little amp is absolutely incredible for the price to run some mids & highs i run one at 2 ohms per channel and it sounds really good...if it lasts a year it’s worth the money in my book
Awesome! Thank you!
It just goes to show that you can't judge an amplifier's output based on the fuse on the side. According to the "rule of thumb" that amplifier should only be able to put out 250 Watts. There's no doubt it's efficiency helped a lot with that.
An amp’s fuse size multiplied by 10 will still get you in the ball park so it is still a good way to judge amps. As amps get more efficient with technology increases then we might have to change that.
@@91CavGT5 I know. I get just tired of arguing with people all of the time that see these videos and say "There's no way that amplifier makes XXX watts. The fuse is only XXX amps."
That's all.
I mean technically at 14.4 volts and 303 watts @ 75% efficiency this amp will pull about 28 amps which is slightly more but you're right. It's still within the ballpark.
I bought the ne and I must say a lot easier to control because it’s Bluetooth and it’s awesome looking and it runs my 12” kicker really good
This is a good little amp. reminds me back in the day of a Jensen I had. If you can find and test an old school Jensen amp from about 1996-97, blue with a light in the center, where it lights up to the beat of the music.
Great video as always!!
I used Jensen amps as back ups, never let me down, outlasted punch, kicker, lanzar, pioneer, only amp that was longer lasting was alpine, and Sony xplode. The xplode was pretty good, i always got the biggest i could get, way more than I needed for 2 12s and 2 10s and another for my mids and highs, 3 amps total.
You make some fantastic videos, love the quality you put into them. However I am thinking it might look better if you put the zoomed in view of the amp dyno screen over the the screen
sold my Dual XPR82D with a little Power Bass PS10 sub in a simple sealed enclosure to a friend of mine. Told him to go buy a cheap schoshe wiring kit from walmart and he asked which one I told him to just get the 8 guage kit. wired it up for him and even installed his stereo and some cheap soney speakers in his doors and I must say I've never really set the amp up in my own personal vehicle for sub use and that little shit BANGS. He was impressed by the little thing and he is quite happy with it. got him a little rattle outside now .
I had a 2 channel jensen 75x75 rms amp back in early 2000s was a good amp for my mids:) loved the led jensen logo.
I was just looking at that amp at Walmart last week. I ended up buying 2 dual 2 channels. But can't wait to see how this Jensen does. My dual is 600 peak. I got the compact one Ryan did a dyno on.👍💯 Dang the Jensen looks just like my dual. Same power and ground and speakers inputs. My dual has a 25 amp fuse to!👍
Yeah it’s the same amp minus the DSP features
Great choice for a review bigD! I have the older Dual 4 channel model and it has proven reliable. Has anyone torn one down past the board to see what chip these amps run? You can plainly see the power supply and filtering/strapping components by taking the cover off but the actual amp chip is sandwiched between the back of the board and the heatsink. I'm afraid to tear my Dual down that far since you have to separate the power supply FETs From the sink to get the board out of the case
Thanks for all the work you do putting these vids together. But I have not seen any comments on SQ. Meeting the rated power, or not, is a big factor, so is the sound of the amp if you were planning to use something like this for driving the main speakers.
Really good amp for the money, im happy with mins, im pushing two 6inch w3's and they sounds good
I get all excited when you post a new vid!!!!
Trying a day early this week 🤟
Pretty nice lil amp 4 sure! The blu tooth DSP is really cool. We need high power amps w/that feature! As for the issue of amp not being able to stream music via BT, I can understand that. That's the job of the head end unit IMO. Thanks for reviewing that amp. I may pick up a couple of them myself!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yeeeeeeeeeah V pattern for the win! Daaam this thing is pretty rad
Great Job as always!
Thanks 🙏
The "v pattern" in the pro audio world that's known as the "disco smile" the reason for the "disco smile" is Equal Loudness Contours or the "Fletcher Munson Curve" awesome video as usual!
Jensen used to be great back in the 80"s. I had 2 Jensen 6x9's and they were very clear sounding. They were so loud you could hear me coming down the street, 2 blocks away (as per my GF's mom).
i have a pair of 8" w0-8 .. im going to use this amp on hopefully it does well thanks for this video
Have always had respect for Jensen stuff. Old and new.
i got the 91 and 94 love them clean sounding amps
Who would’ve thought it? Jensen putting out an accurately rated amp at a great value while Precision Power races Boss to the bottom. Strange times but its great that there are still good values to be had. Credit to Big D for putting this out there.
I hope there’s something related to Rockville getting sue because of inaccurate rating
Agreed!
Jensen used to sell some higher quality stuff a long time ago. But since they went to Walmart from Sears they went to crap. They were American made when Sears sold them.
Why is my amp have wire ports with no wire??
Yes!! *** (Didn't want to give it away) plus watts dynamic bridged! I LOVE THE EXTRA BIG SCREEN TO SEE!!! Thank you, Big D!

Who remembers those metallic blue Jensen XS 10s you could get at walmart??? Damn decent for the price!!!
Thanks Big D for the awesome video!!
Thanks John for the awesome comment 😝
Wow, Jensen staying with the times. I've never really preferred Jensen speakers, stereos, or amps, but they've never given me any particular issues and always performed as advertised. Like I always say, it's hard to argue with results. This would be a really nice amp to buy on a budget and bridge it down to power a single 10 or even a low power 12 for those who are just looking for some slight bump or more depth to their particular style of music. Good on ya Jensen!
Kick it J
Thank you for this dyno test. Ive been looking at this amp for awhile now. O actually bought it but returned it because I wasnt 100% on it lol. Now Im for sure gonna get it to run a small 10" sub.
It’s perfect power for a small sub or some door speakers
@@wal exactly! The sub is in the factory free air location on my sc300 so I dont need alot of power.
I like the cheap dual amps. I love stuff that is mostly overlooked by others.
Especially when you make that cheap gear sound good.
I've actually ran a few Jensen systems back in the 90s. They definitely weren't the best but they were able to hang
Wow a lot of features and value for the price
Just bought this a couple days ago, very pleased with this little amp, just wish it could do 2 ohms bridged.
Need somebody to check the noise floor on this...its interesting great video!
I'm an old school Jensen person. Remember the old (circa 1990-2000)? Nice to see they still sell good stuff.
80's Jensen Triax 6x9's, legendary budget speakers.
I used Jensen when I was younger because it was in my budget. I had 4 amps at one time and never had any issues with any of them. I have nothing bad to say about them. I feel they make better products than many other cheap brands.
Same here. Jensen was my to go to Brand when in a budget and hungry for Sound. Never failed on me.
Hell yes!!! Been waiting for this vid
Awe jeah I’ve been waiting to release it 👌
Yea i think it should Bluetooth stream As well.
@@wal thanks D!!!!!!
wow!!!... thats impressive. the channels are really well balanced too. Never thought I'd see the day when Jensen smokes PPI and Hifonics... 8^O. I like that dsp function too.
Picked this up yesterday before looking at reviews. Found it aline for 59$ on Walmart they rang it up at 109 and they obviously price matched the website but I've gotta say this Amp is pretty killer for the deal and quality seems amazing. And the Bluetooth setup I think Is a killer touch. Highly recommend to anyone running a smaller sub setup or in a budget
Have you had any issues with it not remembering settings or does it not do that? Do I have to connect through the app every time I turn the truck on? Dealing with a 2012 GMC Sierra that the guy repinned the stock wiring harness so it's been a fun time lol
I have this. Just to push my tweeters. The app on the phone via Bluetooth is a pretty clever feature.
Your channel is awesome.
I enjoy making vids, thank you for watching
I just traded with a friend, that had this amp, new in the box. He bought it awhile ago, and got out of audio, when he and his wife had their first child. I swapped him a very nice, baby stroller we had. I wanted a decent 4ch for my wife's budget build, to run her 6.5" components, but this 2ch came at no money, and it'll run her front stage just fine. Plus, mounting under the seat, will add a lil glow..she'll like that lol.
I had a Jensen mono block and it was CEA2006 certified. I currently have this variation mono amp and believe it's also certified. It's just running a single 10" dvc power acoustic mofo sub at 2ohms happily in a labyrinth box. Believe the amp is 1ohm stable also.
Don’t forget what CEA2006 certified means…that it does it’s rated 4 ohm power at 14.4VDC! Doesn’t have to mean anything else
Very first system i had back in the day was an 4 channel audiovox eq/booster on 2 jensen 8s in truck boxes and 2 pioneer 6x9s. It sounded good for what it was. And yes i did run the v formation. Lol
I have to say what ever company owns duel/jensen is impressing me lately.
Namsung is the parent company. They acquired Jensen from Audiovox in 2014. Their other brands include Dual and Naxa.
@@thomaspepera2711 namsung lol sounds like Samsung
I'm impressed, being that Jensen is no longer made in america nearby me in Shiller Park Il. Like most other American companies selling out to China, it's a shame to say there least but at least Jensen here is selling what your buying and then some, thumbs up
Congratulations Big D! That Jensen amp will light them nutts up. 🤣🔥🚗. Still waiting on the oldschool Kenwood amps . (You already know)
I've been running this little thing pretty damn hard, wired down at 2 ohms bridged. It's not rated for it, but it handles it no problem if your gain is set properly.
just got 1 for $35 used its working great as a highs amp for my doors love it so far
Awesome 👏
While Jensen car audio has always been a budget brand, even bordering on being flea market gear, people forget that they have quite a long heritage dating back to the 1920s and they make some really stellar guitar speakers and pro audio gear. Good to see they are releasing something compelling these days in the car audio game.
Great point!
Yes but like other big names still showing what they are today and yesteryear are hardly a resemblance of one another! ;-)
As for the 600W, if they printed 300W it would be correct as it was revealed the amp is capable of 300W dynamic power output. Which in a nutshell is a meaningless spec. ;-)
Their guitar speaker are fantastic!!!
I just re-coned a vintage 15" jensen from a 1960 fender brownface pro amplifier..
@@cpufrost The amp dyno dynamic test is still an RMS (root mean squared) value, which inherently is an average. There is also a measurement of PMPO, which is certainly not a meaningless spec as an amplifier can have huge instantaneous power and low RMS power, which generally related to the power supply section being able to sustain the necessary voltage over some given duration. At the end of the day, RMS is kind of universally understood but the PMPO numbers which I'm sure are realistic in most cases (2x - 3x the RMS) are the more attractive ones that sell.
