To me the argument for South Carolina isn’t “playing better just now” it’s set up from last year. Last year FSU got left out as they weren’t the same team without their QB. South Carolina only lost to LSU because their QB missed half the game. They were romping before that. So we’ve already got precedent of injuries mattering

The problem isn't the fact that there are 3 Sec teams stacked up. The problem with most fans is that there are multiple teams with horrible strength of schedules and the only resume Is a good loss that are locked in when you have at least 3 Sec teams with multiple top 20 wins. If you haven't shown the ability to stay in a game with a top 20 team how can you say your team is better than a team who has beaten multiple top 20 teams?
Bama was 2 points better than SC at home 6 weeks ago. They also lost to Vandy and Oklahoma which SC blew out. Ole Miss handedly beat SC with an injured qb and rb. But they also lost to horrible Florida and Kentucky. With such even records, quality of loss is the tie breaker which SC wins easily with 2/3 losses being by 3 points or less, all against ranked opponents.

I’m a gamecock fan. I agree the officiating was horrible that game 1 horse collar call when the qb was being pulled down by the sleeve. 2 blindside block on the qb when the qb became a defender and Kinnard didn’t really do that(good acting job on the qb to make it more dramatic than what it was) 3 a very controversial call on a pass interference call that was called while SC was driving downfield late in the fourth quarter. But SC did have a chance to send that game into overtime and we failed to do so.
They take injuries into consideration if there are major injuries AT THE END OF THE SEASON. FSU qb which was their best player was out so that is the reason they didn't get in. Committee isn't going to look at injuries earlier in the season

If Iowa State beats ASU, Clemson beats SMU, and BSU beats UNLV it’s possible BSU gets the 3rd seed. Unlikely, but possible. In that scenario, I just don’t see Clemson and Iowa State jumping up in ranks enough to pass BSU. That’s a lot of ranks to move up in one go, and the CFP committee seems way more apt to drop a team 8 spots on a loss than they are to jump them up 8 in one week.

If not for the terrible display of officiating during the South Carolina LSU game, this wouldn’t even be a controversy. South Carolina should be demanding answers from the SEC should they get left out (which they probably should with their current record) about the calls made in that game. The better season long resume is the best indicator and head to head only matters if all other factors are equal or too close to call. On any given day a lesser team often beats a better team so head to head is narrower. It’s the resume overall and using quality wins vs ugly losses Trump head to head.

Finally someone gets it. Tennessee should be ranked over OSU. Losing to an unranked team AT HOME matters. They were a 13 pt favorite and lost. They have lost 2 out of their last 3 games. Their quality wins are against 2 teams that don't have any ranked wins. Meanwhile Tennessee has beat Florida, Bama, Oklahoma, and Vandy all who have ranked wins.

If they go by the season as a WHOLE I think you lean towards Bama, but if you go by who's playing the better ball NOW, I think you go with South Carolina. I'm a Huge IRISH fan, and I think sure our schedule isn't the best 😂, and we lost to NIU, but the IRISH are looking good and playing some of the best football as any top five team and I think they can hang against anyone in the playoff. The better season long resume is the best indicator and head to head only matters if all other factors are equal or too close to call. On any given day a lesser team often beats a better team so head to head is narrower. It’s the resume overall and using quality wins vs ugly losses Trump head to head.

Head to head is a BS argument and I’m sick of hearing it, head to head wins haven’t mattered ALL YEAR in the CFP rankings, but now all of a sudden it should be the end all be all deciding factor?? Screw that. First of all don’t use South Carolina’s name in your title just to get views when you give them literally zero shot of making the playoffs, use Bama or Ole Miss since their brand is supposedly soooo much better. Second of all, Carolina should be a 2 loss team but got screwed out of 16 points in the garbage fire that was the LSU game by the most crooked refs ever. On top of that we haven’t lost in the last 6 weeks we played, while Alabama and Ole Miss both found ways to give games away to GARBAGE opponents. Ole Miss got overhyped early in the year by dropping 70 points on highschool teams and Bama is getting praise just because of the logo on their helmet. South Carolina is the better team as everything currently sits, and if we don’t get a shot to play then I think that’s an awful decision and a missed opportunity for the first 12 team playoff BUT, if we don’t make it, then neither should Bama or Ole Miss. I don't understand why there is a push for an argument for South Carolina. Hear me out, it's fine if you disagree, but everyone keeps saying South Carolina is "HOT" right now. Against WHO? Is my only question/challenge here. They barely beat Clemson (by 3 points) and they beat Wofford, Missouri (by 4 points), Texas A&M and Oklahoma. I didn't know having a run against those teams makes you "hot". If that's the case, then Arizona State is hot right now, they haven't lost since October and have beaten two top 25 teams....same with Iowa State must be hot as they have won 4 in a row. Ole Miss is the most deserving 3 loss team. All 3 losses have been within one score. We dominated UGA and SCAR. Alabama got blown out by Vandy and OU and almost gave up a 30 point lead vs UGA. We shut out SCAR and didnt let them score a TD in their own house.
