AK Interactive AK8003 Acrylic Water Gel Test

My first large area try out of AK Interactive Acrylic water gel. Shelfie 4, Maple River, has a waterside section. The AK product is generally used on ship modelling dioramas, however I’ve decided to try it out on the river side section of the layout. The base it’s applied over is a section of clear plastic glasing sheet. This has been painted with car undercoat and top coat paints from the Halfords (UK motor factor) range, to give a deep chocolate brown and black colour. This was finished with and acrylic gloss top coat. The gel has been applied unthinned in parallel paint brush strokes, and then stippled to give a texture. This is the first stage try out, so it’ll be left to dry, and the effect assessed to see what else may be needed.
