Unimpressed...you died. JK! That was absolutely inSANE! Aside from mastering the glitches, your ability to walk to the very edge of a platform so you can jump around and up to another is nothing short of spectacular.
Back in those times, game creators had to get creative to make theme songs (say, if you played P3 with only Wiping All Out that would be boring) so they found out they could change up the speed of the music to make different music while saving space Example: In GTA LCS the soundtrack of GTA 3 is speeded up. In Mario Bros they used the same song and changed up some stuff from it everytime they wanted it differently

defeating cut man first means you must at least shot 33 times against robot masters. But if you start with bomb, or fire man, you must shot 32 shots which is fewer than your method.
What is it called when you actually do a speed run without using glitches and exploits? Is this even a thing? I would like to see this game beaten properly, as fast as possible.
In Elecman's stage, you'll find an area that has a box with a gun in it. You have to use Gutsman's weapon to pick up the blocks in the path to get to it (Though this guy used a glitch to skip it).
There are special marked blocks known as "Guts Blocks." You can use Elec Man's Thunder Beam to crash through one or use Guts Man's Super Arm to pick up and throw a block. After breaking the blocks in either way you can grab your Magnet Beam and move on through the stage.

I never did beat this game as a kid......but then I never cheated via glitches either, I played as the programmers intended. Maybe I'm a purist, but I don't think a speed run should count when you use glitches to skip huge parts of the game....like multiple boss battles that you just glitch passed to save time...
Max well I completely agree if you ever see the Speed Run 4 MegaMan 2 they barely play the level at all they always use the top of the screen zip glitch. These glitch speedruns don't hold any respect with me the ones that don't use any glitching they're the ones that got chops.
Wonder if it's really even worth it to get the M tool with the glitch rather than just doing Gutsman first since you can 1-hit Cutman with his ability.
And I'll take the non-glitch speed run. It is like beating mike tyson's punch-out speed run by using the code to start on tyson. Yea, the game allowed you to skip most of the fights, like the glitches in this game allows you to skip so many boss fights....but you've skipped the spirit of the game, which is to beat the game quickly and flawlessly. imo
Max well Speedruns are not about "artistic spirit," they're about speed. If you want anything else, go watch a let's play. That being said, there are different categories of speedrun with different rules. What you want to search for is "glitchless" or "100% glitchless." This run, however, is what we'd call an "any%" which means by whatever means necessary - using only the game code's own resources, properties, and quirks - force the end state in the fastest time possible. You'll find that most players that have the "any%" record usually also have one of the glitchless records as they were glitchless masters before moving on to the infinitely more challenging endeavor of becoming so intimately familiar with every nuance of the game that they could turn its own rules against it with frame-perfect precision. It can take weeks just to master one single application of one specific kind of glitch that may end up saving you only 12 frames off your personal best - but those frames add up to new world records and it takes serious dedication; far more than simply "playing fast." In the community, there is no loss of face by being in one category or other.
