So let me get this straight. The Galactic Federation's mightiest armies couldn't make a dent in the Space Pirates' operations on Zebes, nor any other bounty hunter they hired. But they send Samus to do it and she's just in, powers up, kills Kraid, kills Mother Brain, blows up the base (and presumably Ridley and the Metroids in the process), and then out all before the Federation came back from lunch break? Shit, why didn't they just call her in the first place?
Yeah you're probably right. Ridley didn't become Meta Ridley because he done got blowed up and needed to be revived. Fuuuuuck that! No, he did it just because he wanted to get Samus's attention. And integrating a bunch of wacky cybernetic robot parts into your body is one hell of a way to get someone's attention.
+donfolstar I was watching the whole video just to see what kind of move he did to cheat his way into the end of the game... So when I saw that, I was blown away. :D
MondoManDevout Not 100% but I believe you would normally need the upgrade that lets ball form stick to walls to get by that spot. He lured a monster in from the side, then froze it and air ball jumped onto it. Then he bomb ball jumped into the hole. Cool trick and it looks like you only get one shot risking a ton of time.
How is it possible that so many people can use the internet, and not have the sense to just read a description and come to terms with the fact that this guy can do something they can't. Just because you can't do something that takes tons of training and skill, doesn't mean it's fake, kiddies.
It's similar to how just because the hamburger in the Annoying Orange video "Monster Burger" was made of lettuce, cheese and tomatoes, doesn't mean that he ate them!
@Wish Master except it isnt. This speedrun has been oficially verified and is seen as one of the greatest metroid 1 speedruns of all time. Strange that people call this fake but not the smb1 runs where the runners have to do pixel and frame perfect inputs
Mind Control Experiments no it is another category of speedruns which tools can assist you in doing the speed run faster than a normal human but still there will be better records with better coded techniques
A TAS is basically programing every input of the game and then running it, so that the pc beats the game. Since it can do over 60 niput/second it sometimes can provoke glitches that usually cannot be done with a control, it can also easily control any RNG(random) elements of the game(like drops) as the game will always start with the same seed for the RNG, so every enemy movement, and drops are the same every time you run it. and so forth. Many glitches are found from TASers also.
I think Pokemon Black/White handled this the best. When you were low on health, the music changed to a more urgent tone that matched the beat of the beeping. I dont know why the changed it for X and Y
Scott Karrasch Interesting. I actually really like the creeping-beeping-death mechanic, even though I don't like it when I'm playing. The anxiety it produces is fairly effective at putting you in a state where you're distracted and fearful, as if it's because you're actually in physical danger. (An actual life-or-death scenario would release neurochemicals that would actually focus your attention, but still I think it's a cool mechanic.)
The Binding of Isaac handles it best. When you enter a room you notice a little puddle of urine. No flashing lights, no beeping, the game trusts that you're not an idiot, and also has some humor about your imminent demise.
That took countless hours of preparation and devotion, not to mention studying every movement and most of all timing! This was artwork and very very slick 👍😎
CAKmusic Glad you kept it pure. Awesome run dude! It'd be rad to see you nail the game with post abilities and Samus without suit with earned stats from previous runs. It's been a minute since I've had the game in my household, but I found doing a run in that style is also fun. You'd be a wiz at it, though I know it isn't nearly as hardcore as what you just did.
This game is so special to me. Might as well tell the story here - that I wanted the Nintendo Entertainment System for Christmas and hoped I would get one. My stepmother knew, but she gave us (my brother and me) a Pong console instead. A used Pong console that we used to play at our friends' house. (They probably got a new Nintendo...) What?! Nintendo is coming out and we get Pong?! lol We were pretty unhappy, to say the least. My next hope was that my grandfather would buy me the Nintendo. Before we went to visit him, my mom gave us our Christmas presents like a week early and I opened up a Metroid cartridge! OMG, I 'am' getting a Nintendo! She tried to play it off by saying, "This doesn't mean you are definitely getting a Nintendo. Who knows, you might not even get one." but I knew better. And so, I spent all of the next week reading every inch of that Metroid manual over and over, engrossing myself in the fantasy of visiting this strange world and wishing I could play it! :) Of course I got that Nintendo, and the rest is history!
Good for you bro :) Never played Metroid for NES. If i had played it as kid, my mind would blow up! Obssessed as i was when i could not advance... i would never had sex in my life! xD
TheSiegelayer I got a brand new boxed Metroid as a kid for Christmas. I was very impressed by it but could never finish it. I've finished it as an adult though. Groundbreaking game.
TheSiegelayer whats worst that getting an nes game with no nes? well, nothing....nothing is worst than that. my parents got me the deluxe set with duck hunt and gyromite. then the next morning i opened kung fu and mike tysons punch out. i was basically set for the next 10 years in my own mind.
When i was 4 i wanted a nintendo for christmas like my friend had so i could play the ninja turtles arcade game. When i opened up my present i immediately could tell it was the wrong thing and was disappointed. I recieved a super nintendo not even knowing about its existence along with turtles in time. I am very glad that my family made that mistake.
Metroid was one of my earliest Nintendo memories . A game way ahead of its time for ‘86. A true puzzle and adventurous game that would challenge anyone! That soundtrack too!!
Wow... that was amuzingly entertaining and cool... Imagine the conversation between Samus and her commander: Commander: SAMUS... YOUR MISSION IS TO DESTROY MOTHER BRAIN AND RECOVER METROID. Thanks! The mother brain room is the hardest part of the run for sure, but I narrowed it down to a pretty consistent strategy. I can clear the zebetites almost every time...after that, just alternate between a far away attack and a close attack. If you're feeling risky, you can freeze a rinka and use it as a platform.
+Kartmanox Agreed. I don't know who's bright idea it was to design those long halls where you keep climbing and climbing and climbing, and it all looks the same!
Wow, it is amazing a human played this fast, without using TAS. Good work, I enjoyed watching the entire video, I'm not that good at all playing Metroid but at least I was able to finish it years ago. Congratulations (y) !
The number of people in the comments calling cheats and hacks is quite astounding. Amazing run though, I never had the patience to play this game enough to ever beat it. Too frustrating.
🎆Mind blown🎆 You are a beast. That trick at the end to get to Tourian without ever even fighting Ridley... Incredible. Plus, you entered Tourian with like 65 Missiles and only 3 energy tanks. I seriously never considered skipping like 95% of the Metroids. That was great, brought me back big time.
When Samus bumped her head and you had to re-jump after setting the bomb at 15:30, you had to be thinking, "Thanks Samus. One lousy blue ledge. Really?" That was such a great run. I love Metroid. 1st two games are some of the greatest games of the century. Thanks for the video. You have honored the source material brother . . .
Like. A. Boss. This takes me back to 1987! Got this game for christmas and spent most of spring running around the planet Zebes. When I saw my first Metroid floating towards me, I shit my pants. Still my favorite game of all time!!! Awesome video dude.
Rockstead-E right?! I was like, NOOOOOOOOOO I felt so bad for him! But he carried on and made it happen. Real grit. Those are the moment where you just want the universe to blow up you are so pissed.
Holy cow some crazy moves! That move at 10:32 leaving Kraids was insane! And you made the sneak past the statues look easy in one quick pass. Even the Mother Brain room went by seemingly easy. You are a Metroid Master
Most of these comments are about how you "abused glitches" and "cheated". Pretty sad, since you left things in the descrption disproving these arguments. No one seemed to bother reading the description
bigmack0033In my opinion, there is a definite difference between jumping in midair (a not too uncommon game mechanic) and tricking the game's y-coordinate. There's no proof either way whether morph jumping is a glitch, but it's a technique which is almost universally used in any Metroid speedrun and isn't that hard to discover on your own. The real issue is not the trick itself, but what it was used for. The same could be said of the select-mashing trick, which has been mistaken for turbo. As for whether the programmers intended the game to be "sequence broken" or for the morph jump to be in the manual, well, I think you give programmers too much say in determining how a game should be played. Imagination is key in any speedrunning effort, not just raw skill.
You make quite valid points concerning morph jump. However, credible speculation is still not proof, and long-established consensus would prevail in this case. In regard to door glitch, I've used that technique in another speedrun and currently have the best time without death abuse. I've also beaten both bosses without using door glitch and have the best time, though I used morph jump (in one case jumping through a shootable platform, which is definitely a glitch but doesn't save much time anyway) as well as select-mashing if I remember right. I have no problem with different categories, so if you are inclined to speedrun Metroid the "right" way, then more power to you. I simply play by rules which seem the most logical to me and result in a run which many people want to watch.
Consensus = Metroid speedrunners and other NES experts involved in SDA/Twitch/SRL communities. They decide what are acceptable categories for speedrunning, and what are acceptable rules for those categories. There are no Metroid speedrunners which don't use morph jump...none. If we make "no morph jump" the only true world record, then you are effectively ignoring the existence of better players.
Again, no one can truly know except the game programmers. I say my run is glitchless because it was widely accepted by other competitive gamers as such. If this isn't a discussion about what is permissible in a glitchless speedrun, then what is the point? That morph jump might technically be a glitch? Yes, it might.
Omg you did this so well! You don't know how much stress those last few minutes give me, like, when the bomb is about to go off? I could never do that bit. I just kept on killing Samus over and over again :P
What an incredibly revolutionary game for the time. And the music has persisted and been improved upon over the years. The fact that the original themes are still the basis for the modern games' scores is very impressive. I love this series and hope they do something great with it on the Switch.
Haha, Oh wow! It's nice to finally see someone else use the Rio trick to skip Ridley! Props for beating it so damn quickly! The fastest I ever got was 19:37, and I thought that was impressive. You sir, you managed this with a finesse I could have never dreamed possible - your technique only got better as it went along, too! That final run towards Mother Brain was art in motion - you had it timed to a science and you held nothing back! You, good sir, are perhaps the greatest Metroid Player in the world, and you will most likely retain your title as such for the rest of your life (As I have no intention of trying to top that, nor would anyone else, I dare think!) You've won. Game Set. Mission Complete. Congratulations. See you next game. Win. I'm now going to have to forward this to everyone I know who played the game as well; My God it was incredible to watch. Thank you, and good night!
dude 19:37 is amazing and 15:43 is amazing but saying the best metroid gamer is wrong like me i mainly play this game and super metroid and i have speed run them both and got 9:01 lol kidding but ive speed run them and 100% them not together but my sister is better then me by getting a speed run of super metroid and getting 1:20:42 which is impressive but what im sayingis that im good my sister is better someone is better then her and someone is better then someone he might be the best SPEEDRUNNER but not the best
'Because I felt that those techniques took away from the fun factor, and many people wouldn't enjoy watching a speedrun containing them. Basically, this was intended to be a glitch-free speedrun.' As a regular Speedrun watcher, this is really welcome, though I've learned that glitches are also hard to pull off, and therefore need to be appreciated as well, this here is for the viewer, and I thank you for that.
Unbelievable run! Great job at 9:51 with the reappearing block section, I could NEVER do it that flawlessly. And at the move you did at 10:31 - amazing!
Can you imagine being on the original development team and seeing this? "Oh hey, you know that game that you designed that should have taken hours to beat? I just did it in 15 minutes." I wouldn't know whether to be amazed or defeated.
Watching this is depressing. These games seemed more fun because you could savor them in the long battles and make maps. Also, I always struggled mightily with Kraid, and the OP made him/her look like an ass clown. I am impressed however with using the ball-to-upright jump maneuver as an air brake to extend jumps/falls to vector horizontal more. Never knew about that little trick.
Impressive run, epic Q&A! It looks like there were a few brief stumbles along the way so there's even a bit more time that could have been shaved off for a "perfect" playthrough, excepting TASR's of course. Actually playing in real-time on the OEM console and ROM is the only true player speed runs that "count" IMO.
Ok read the description and have come to the conclusion that you sir are a beast, this was my all time favourite game as a kid it was hard but forgiving , there was always something hidden for you to find, there was no set way you needed to play it. Thanks for the uploaded I enjoyed it :-)
I thought my 1 hour was good.... I do defeat both bosses but 1/4 the time to game end! Nicely done sir! glad to see a classic like this run.... I even learned something new thanks!
Anyone else think the Samus damage noise sounds like a fart? Like she's had too much egg prior to the mission and the enemies are knocking the wind out of her (literally).
Wow, I was unaware of exactly how much of the game is possible to be skipped with just the morph ball double jump. This was a great run! Its also the first time I've seen the ice beam used without the long beam already equipped, that was interesting =)
Ridley: "Oh boy, Samus Aran is here! Now I just need to bide my time and... WHAT? The self-destruct has already been triggered and that bitch never even came into my lair!? Argggg!"
Been playing NES Metroid since I was a toddler, I also practice running games like Super Metroid and LTTP. Thank you for including everything in your description, I might enjoy running this :) Was very impressed by the way you entered the Tourian, if you don't do it right the first time is it easy to reset and try again? I'm guessing by exiting and coming back in. I just feel like the precision (of the entire run) for getting the enemy to line up, so you can freeze and bomb jump is not something many people could do. In any case, Thanks for the run!
It's very difficult to do the trick in the bridge room without first falling in the lava, but it can still be done afterward...just jump out of the lava and shoot. I think you can get extra height by unmorphing then jumping. Getting the enemy in the room in the first place is nearly as hard, but there's an easier way to do that as well. Just walk all the way to the red door, backtrack a little, then lead him in there. Hope that makes sense.
CAKmusic This is the key to the game if you want to beat it quickly. I used to try it as a kid and was never able to time it right, and the lava would eventually kill me. I thought maybe the programmers made it so you couldn't pull that off. Cool to see it can actually be done. I also liked the missile trick after beating the first miniboss. Neat techniques.
Oh man. My hat goes off to you. You're a true space bounty hunter worthy of the name. The trick you use to get over the lava blows my mind, in that all my life I believed that there was no way to do that without the bridge. Three cheers.
The bridge room is the key to the game if you want to beat it quickly. I used to try it as a kid and was never able to time it right, and the lava would eventually kill me. I just watched this unbelievably bad ass, no BS speedrun. However, I cannot help myself. ENGAGE RIDLEY MOTHER FUCKER Die hard fans will understand that. And it kind of works, since you didn't, but I digress. :) Damn good run. What took me about 3 months to find, when I was a 11 year old in 1987, now takes me about an hour or so. You wrecked this game in a little over 15 minutes. Damn. Nice job.
Good job man, that was the quickest I have seen it beaten. I can say I did beat ift over 20 years ago. It took me many hours, but I went through the whole game and didn't miss a secret or any item. And killed all the bosses. I remember when I beat it, and I jumped up and down and shouted! Some day I would like to beat it again, maybe faster the next time. All in all props to you man!!!
the sad thing is it took me years to beat metroid, back then i would rent it, but i finnally got it for xmas , those scenes have been in my memory for years, i am 35 now, so a pleasure to watch
so......in 15 minutes, this guy destroys my entire summer of 1987.
well played sir, well played.
Adam Ellis hey... sounds like a great summer though ;)
Yeah but it took him playing every spring, summer, fall & winter, since 1987 to finally be able to make this video.
What console did he play on... I have original nes (no wires, controller or games) so it pretty much useless other than memories.
lol same for me :-)
was thinking exact same thought! i didnt know you could skip ridley either!
Son: Mommy, can I play Metroid?
Mother: Okay, but only for sixteen minutes.
Son: Oh mother...*ZEBES WON'T KNOW WHAT HIT THEM...*
@Hypericarus It is Zebes... He wrote it right...
@Hypericarus I think they re-estated the Name, but i might be wrong... Thx anyways
Yeah... Hopefully they'll bring back her old characterization. I need some Metroid 5 in my life.
Meanwhile Ridley got word that Samus isn't visiting him, and said "Fuck you, Sammy!" and left before she destroyed Mother Brain
This is Ridley we're talking about. He would do that.
Exactly. Such a sweetheart!
hi jump boots? varia suit? who needs em. Ridley? Who even wants to hang out with that guy? awesome job.
thanks
TheSchmuck2 lol
yea but think about it... thats why Super Metroid came out.. cause this guy beat the first game too fast LOL
Exactly what I wanted to comment. 😂
Federation Army: "No one could possibly breach the Space Pirates' fortress on Zebes, it's hopeless."
Samus: "Hold my beer."
Adam: "Samus, I need you to go to planet Zebes, infiltrate the Space Pirate stronghold, defeat Mother Brain--"
Samus: "Done."
Adam: :-0
Ive never laughed so hard ever!! 😂😂
*Surprised Pikachu*
That move at 12:45... so slick.
so glad someone else noticed! no man has ever given me an erection, but when I saw that, that shit was hot.
+donfolstar I was watching the whole video just to see what kind of move he did to cheat his way into the end of the game... So when I saw that, I was blown away. :D
Dicax I watched it, but Im not exactly sure what he did? I only played this game once 10 years ago
MondoManDevout Not 100% but I believe you would normally need the upgrade that lets ball form stick to walls to get by that spot. +Keith Richards No, you normally have to defeat kraid and ridley, which creates a bridge in the statue room for you to cross to the other side.
How is it possible that so many people can use the internet, and not have the sense to just read a description and come to terms with the fact that this guy can do something they can't. Just because you can't do something that takes tons of training and skill, doesn't mean it's fake, kiddies.

What is TAS? Tasmanian Devil?
GDelva2003 It stands for Tool Assisted Speedrun.
+GDelva2003 hahaha tasmanian devil lololol

When mom says 15 minutes before school.
But you need at least 15:36
"just gimme another minute, mom~"
@omgwtfbbq What? Lighten up, grandpa
What is this comment supposed to mean
3:21 my sanity thanks you.

Axiom Verge does a good job with the beep. After a bit the warning beep blends in with the music as it's intended to be.
Damn man, final boss dodging the spaghettios and lazers while blasting through the doors with rockets. Mastery!!
I'm just glad I'm not the only one who called 'em "Spaghetti-Os"!

no turbo used...please read video description...thanks

fall jump. double jump just lets you jump once while in mid air. doesn't matter how you get there
+utoobninja totes jumping off invis things fake
I am in awe!
+Joshua Herman it's called a fall jump

Wow... that was amuzingly entertaining and cool... Imagine the conversation between Samus and her commander:

Just imagened that I can't stop laughing
but she didnt recover any metroid thoe thats in metroid 2 return of samus
lol
Ricardo By this point she didn't have a commander. This mission was for her own personal satisfaction.
Nice joke tho
Not the first Metroid. She was hired by the Federation to do just that. Same for Metroid 2. Super Metroid was for free. ;)
Great!!!
You fulfilled your mission. It will revive peace in space. But, it may be invaded by the other metroid. Pray for a true peace in space!
....
Other Metroid....

GOD NO!
Golden Nuke fulfiled actually lol
well at least now we know what the m stands for in other m
"Pray for a true peace in space!" reads like a Trump tweet
I usually hear japanese people speak good english when they speak it verbally, but why did they mistranslate so many games?
thesnare100 Just because you can speak doesnt always mean you can write
Never knew how annoying the low life beeping indicator was until I heard it on 8 bit.
what are you talking about?
When you have low health....
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
It was always on 8 bit...
Bip bip bip bip. Arrrrghhh, my ears!!!!
For a second a though you were saying that the person who made this had no life

Never understood this fucking amazing game as a kid... always got LOSTT!!!!!
+Kartmanox I still do.
Fucking amazing? This game is mediocre and boring. Even for NES.
+Kartmanox Agreed. I don't know who's bright idea it was to design those long halls where you keep climbing and climbing and climbing, and it all looks the same!

I was thinking the exact same thing man lol
3rd that thought ... countless hours of aggravation.also back then only 1 tv to play on
took me 1 year to beat this game..
Theres still some NES games I own i've never beaten. I don't remember if i've ever got 100% item collection on Metroid either.
Well, I'm sure it took more than a dozen or so hours to get this good...
at 12:45 you literally destroy what was an entire summer of my childhood LOL
astounding man. simply remarkable. well played.
Like. A. Boss.
This takes me back to 1987! Got this game for christmas and spent most of spring running around the planet Zebes. When I saw my first Metroid floating towards me, I shit my pants. Still my favorite game of all time!!! Awesome video dude.
Nice run. Very cool. Was really nice to relive this classic one more time. Thx Cakmusic!
This is my favorite Metroid NES speedrun. Outstanding Work!
Grabbing the energy tank in Kraid's room and then climbing the blocks ladder is where things really start getting impressive.
15:31 will haunt him forever
Rockstead-E right?! I was like, NOOOOOOOOOO I felt so bad for him! But he carried on and made it happen. Real grit. Those are the moment where you just want the universe to blow up you are so pissed.
lmfaooo sad ikr
and yet no one has done better yet! it's crazy.
I know bro, that's like a 2 second loss right there. Sad.
Holy cow some crazy moves! That move at 10:32 leaving Kraids was insane! And you made the sneak past the statues look easy in one quick pass. Even the Mother Brain room went by seemingly easy. You are a Metroid Master
Take my hat off to you. One of my favorite games of all time.
I think it's first genuine speedrun I see. Without using bugs, hacks and other stuff, like it should be. Good job, friend!
I agree, I sometimes won't read descriptions too, but seeing it's long I should :3
It’s intriguing how everything unfolds. For instance, he could’ve simply skipped Kraid too but he needed the extra missiles.
Heh... who knew Samus could infiltrate a planet, kill nearly everything in it, and peace out in only 15 minutes..
Omg you did this so well! You don't know how much stress those last few minutes give me, like, when the bomb is about to go off? I could never do that bit. I just kept on killing Samus over and over again :P
12:45 is the key. Gotta get that bugger to follow you in the door. Then a miraculous shot and bomb to get through. Very nice.
That bridge skip though. Killer morph jumps. This was a ton of fun to watch!
God what is with all the hate. Nobody here has watched a speedrun or even understand one. Nice run man!
The only bad part of this run was that damn beeping, but simply muting it for a bit fixes that
Speedruns are bullshit that's why lol
@@jeffs9008 And how are they "bullshit"?
@@jeffs9008 lol wtf? Any reasons? Try beating smb1 in under 5 mins or mario 64 in 6 mins yourself before you call such performances bullshit
You, good sir, are perhaps the greatest Metroid Player in the world, and you will most likely retain your title as such for the rest of your life (As I have no intention of trying to top that, nor would anyone else, I dare think!)
You've won.
Game Set.
Mission Complete.
Congratulations.
See you next game.
Win.
I'm now going to have to forward this to everyone I know who played the game as well; My God it was incredible to watch. Thank you, and good night!
Gustauve Drakenhime wow 19:37 is pretty good imo
dude 19:37 is amazing and 15:43 is amazing but saying the best metroid gamer is wrong
like me i mainly play this game and super metroid and i have speed run them both and got 9:01 lol kidding but ive speed run them and 100% them not together but my sister is better then me by getting a speed run of super metroid and getting 1:20:42 which is impressive but what im sayingis that im good my sister is better someone is better then her and someone is better then someone he might be the best SPEEDRUNNER but not the best
@@daswdasd7341 my first run of super metroid: 9-10hrs
my latest: 3hrs
it takes time but man is it worth it. i hope you can acheive more in this game!
'Because I felt that those techniques took away from the fun factor, and many people wouldn't enjoy watching a speedrun containing them. Basically, this was intended to be a glitch-free speedrun.'
As a regular Speedrun watcher, this is really welcome, though I've learned that glitches are also hard to pull off, and therefore need to be appreciated as well, this here is for the viewer, and I thank you for that.
You beat this without dying... I envy that! I can't even get missiles without dying 500 times!
Well dying is no option i a glitchless metroid run
Unbelievable run! Great job at 9:51 with the reappearing block section, I could NEVER do it that flawlessly. And at the move you did at 10:31 - amazing!
Geez Man, It's Crazy How You Can Do This Game So Fast, The Fastest I Was About 2 Hour's But You Are Crazy Good And I Hope Keep Up The Great Work!
I just came to the realization that I am super old. But I have always loved Metroid. Great job
7:58 is when the best music of the game kicks in.
Yeah youre right.....it kinda triggers my childhood even though im still a child
It is pretty sick
Ur right
This run is so ridiculously good. Tourian was sick! I can't believe how reckless you played the Mother Brain fight. Holy smokes. Well done!
Can you imagine being on the original development team and seeing this? "Oh hey, you know that game that you designed that should have taken hours to beat? I just did it in 15 minutes." I wouldn't know whether to be amazed or defeated.
Look at how fantastic this game was
With great music and plot and controls
It even had *cinematic slow-motion camera* 6:21
And fast-paced action 9:07
The ONLY arseholes that thumb down this video were never a kid and NEVER explored this game.
Ok read the description and have come to the conclusion that you sir are a beast, this was my all time favourite game as a kid it was hard but forgiving , there was always something hidden for you to find, there was no set way you needed to play it.
Thanks for the uploaded I enjoyed it :-)
BEFORE POSTING CRITICISM...... Please Read Full Description and Research the Speed Run of the Game. Or read through previously argued comments.
I thought my 1 hour was good.... I do defeat both bosses but 1/4 the time to game end! Nicely done sir! glad to see a classic like this run.... I even learned something new thanks!
I wish my synapses fired that quickly. Great job man.
I'm in awe, man. Great run, especially to watch!
That was an excellent speedrun without the use of third-party programs or glitch exploitation. :-)
How is it possible that there are only 302 likes in 45,487 views?!! This was amazingly creative. Best run of this game I've ever seen!
Anyone else think the Samus damage noise sounds like a fart? Like she's had too much egg prior to the mission and the enemies are knocking the wind out of her (literally).
Simon LMAO your comment is gold
Wow, I was unaware of exactly how much of the game is possible to be skipped with just the morph ball double jump. This was a great run! Its also the first time I've seen the ice beam used without the long beam already equipped, that was interesting =)
Nice. Legit speed runs are where it's at,
I don't have the ability to stay calm when my health is beeping. I am impressed at this speed run.
Aww no bikini Samus? Excellent run!
You mean zero suit zamus, she’s extremely sexy lol.
this is madness. i wouldn't go anywhere near hideout 1 without varia, 4 ETs and a butt load of missiles.
i was just thinking to myself the other day, we need more Metroid games!
Patato Fred you got em
I remember sitting in the basement in front of NES playing this one. Of my favs!! Thanks for the memories
now this is cool! ive never seen anyone bypass the bridge that way!
Ridley: "Oh boy, Samus Aran is here! Now I just need to bide my time and... WHAT? The self-destruct has already been triggered and that bitch never even came into my lair!? Argggg!"
That was apeshit bananas. Good job!
That jump freeze jump in the first shaft of Kraigs layer to escape is legit impressive
Been playing NES Metroid since I was a toddler, I also practice running games like Super Metroid and LTTP. Thank you for including everything in your description, I might enjoy running this :)
Was very impressed by the way you entered the Tourian, if you don't do it right the first time is it easy to reset and try again?
Cool! I read the description first and this is great. I played this game in my childhood and took me several days to finish it.
Read the description straight from the beginning great job , great run , congrats , well done . I'm glad you didn't cheat shows integrity .
Without a doubt my favorite video game growing up as a teenager in the 80s. This game would consume hours of my time on a daily basis.
holy shit this is from 30 years ago
Oh man. My hat goes off to you. You're a true space bounty hunter worthy of the name. The trick you use to get over the lava blows my mind, in that all my life I believed that there was no way to do that without the bridge. Three cheers.
It's the most satisfying heartbreaking thing to see games you spent hour and hours on get beat in a half hour
Dom Kasberg *coughs* Dark Souls.

I just watched this unbelievably bad ass, no BS speedrun. However, I cannot help myself.
ENGAGE RIDLEY
MOTHER FUCKER
Die hard fans will understand that. And it kind of works, since you didn't, but I digress. :)
Damn good run.
Wow at 12:47. Clever move I must say!
Nice one mate!! absolutely loved this game, think I spent my childhood on it and never got past th last part. wish I cld play it again now
This was Fucking awesome! I didn't know you could just SKIP Ridley like that! Haha.
The way he moves is pretty amazing. What a run.
damn. THAT was skill.
Amazing run. This video just showed up on my recommended page. I wish I would've seen it years ago. Kudos!
Young boys probably tried to beat this game fast just to see Samus in a bikini.
To see Samus without the suit just type 000000 000020 000000 000020 as password.
The game wasn't the only thing they were beating.
scifyry lol
justin bailey ------- ------- helped me with that back in the 80s.
I’m not a pervert.
One of those games that I hated at first, but then loved it later. Well played!
Damn Samus should be giving you a fucking lap dance for beating this game so fucking quickly awesome run
the sad thing is it took me years to beat metroid, back then i would rent it, but i finnally got it for xmas , those scenes have been in my memory for years, i am 35 now, so a pleasure to watch
Its sad that pewdiepies drawing with friend videos get more views than th
Such a great run. So much more enjoyable watching this then the speedruns using glitches. Keeping it real!
You beat the game so quickly you deserve to get Samus take off even more clothes than even just strip down to a bikini.
This should be a thing ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
ck2399 doujins,my friend
Satoshi Matrix careful for the feminists will hunt you down
She should be stripped down to the bone, a skeleton literally
J-Ryder wtf
Wow this brings back memories!! I could never get anywhere in this game! Nice job
