Brian De Palma, Paul Verhoeven, Luc Beson, Alfred Hitchcock and Steven Spielberg ( mostly his early works) are among my favourite directors, I've got a "directors" section in my library.
Thumbs up just for having Woody Allen in your collection. Play It Again Sam, a great film directed by Herbert Ross, is being released by Kino and is very recommended. Herb Ross also directed Footloose, Pennies from Heaven, The Last of Sheila and The Goodbye Girl among many others.
Awesome! I have sections like this as well. I have Scorsese, Coppola, peckinpah, Woo, Mann, Anthony Mann, John Sturges, Vincente Minnelli, QT, and so many others!
Great video! Love it! I also have a favorite directors section. Top 10. Fellini, Tarkovsky, Lynch, Kubrick, Kurosawa, Kieslowski, Ozu, Malick, Hitchcock, and Bergman. Woody Allen’s Stardust Memories is great. It’s his 81/2.
Why not use a thick piece of plastic as a divider instead of a VHS tape. I think they use them in libraries too. It would free up a lot of space and VHS tape.
Do you have Desert island classics, Son of Hitler,Peter Cushing. One of his lost films. It's a horrible picture quality but better watching it on streaming on a tablet.
You have no idea how delighted I was to hear you say Alfred Hitchcock in my opinion the best director ever. Very few movies of his I do not like maybe 2 or 3.
Both Ridley Scott and Stanley Kubrick are hit and miss with me. I love 2001 but cannot stand Eyes Wide Shut and love Alien and Blade Runner ( my number 1 and 2 movies of all time) I love but I have Thelma and Louise to give an example.
I've watched all Woody Allen movies few years ago (in a row, and trust me folks, don't do that). Now i just need to watch midnight in paris. People say it is a good one. I stopped when i just needed to watch midnight in paris, because the last one i watched was "to rome with love", and i was very disappointed with that one. Unispired and lazy movie. In beginning i was like "wow, Allen and Benigni, in a movie about Italy! Must be a good one", but in the end it was not, in my opinion.
The collection videos are my favourite!
Love the collection
Excellent woody collection! The physical releases for his films are anything but consistent so it’s impressive you’ve acquired so many!
