The retro anime design of the 2.0 is exactly why the 2.0 will always be my favorite version of the RX-78-2.

Not that I would use it for this. But I feel like it is something that suits zakus well, and it is hard to get one of these and not get a mg zaku 2.0
I wanted the 2.0 since I read it looks more like the anime whereas the 3.0 looks more like the real grade version. After watching some videos on youtube I began to have doubts on the 2.0 but still didn't like the 3.0, but then I stumbled on this video and you have made the 2.0 look and sound cool. 2.0 is definitely for me due to the nostalgia, look, and retro feel.
simplicity is it's strength! ☺
As much as i love this version of the grandaddy gundam, i prefer the OYW version over this one. Then again im a sucker for the detailing that panel lining brings to the kit

Thanks to this video, I now know the core fighter wings are supposed to slide out in addition to unfolding.

Oh and just one thing. You demonstrated that the shield plugs directly into the back of the gundam, but the box shows that it can plug into the backpack. Is that possible?

Was just looking on ur new site and saw this. Just want to make one correction. The feet when you put together the legs you have to put the feet on first before the lower armor so that it will be locked in place. The way you did it in the video will let the feet fall off.

Transformers can learn from this? That is just an automorph. I know that this vid is a bit old, but there were tons of 2007 movie and 2009 revenge of the fallen figures with automorph. Though I would agree with you that the pushing in of the core fighter nosecone is a very novel idea for the transformers line. I agree with you in the end.
lol nu gundam is the final suit for amuro in the anime at least, but in the manga/novels he pilots hi nu gundam.

My kit of this guy's left foot falls off frequently.. :(
IMO the back ankle armor and angle guards were terrible on this. Had nothing but trouble with those two parts. But other than that, it is awesome. The iner frame is extremely fun to pose and fool around with.

Why do videos from 2009 sound like they are recorded with equipment from the 1970's? Man the audio is atrocious
Most Gunpla reviewers were using cheap built-in camera mics back then. Many of the newer kids in town, such as ZakuAurelius and MechaGaikotsu, invest hundreds if not a few thousand dollars on cameras,audio equipment, lighting, and editing software. Basically it's second form of income with ad revenue and Patreon donations. I don't believe RRobbert was ever monotized. Less incentive to upgrade gear.

God it looks so good but then I saw the transformation of the core fighter and it's awesome but I'm could already see the little tiny parts on the plastic slates and I'm just like oh sh**.
the thing is, they did give a clear skeleton to the 2.0...and I LOVE IT!
The feet look a little short, but it's hard to compare it with the anime...

I dont like how its simple look, 1.5 ver have better outer frame design. I know they make anime accurate but design is too outdated to appreciated

i love the look of this gundam the anime look is great to me
best in technical aspects, ugly as fu*k....i liked the anime, but as i've said to a mate, unless they make one that flies on its own (RX-78-2 that is), i wont ever buy it. coz it's so over done, and everytime i look at it, i get reminded of exactly how many RX-78-2 there are...i hope they use this amazing inner frame technology to build other gundams who are deserving of proper MG treatment...
I think you're dead wrong about the proportions. MG Gundam isn't really anime-proportioned - it's much too slim and flat in the belly and chest. The anime itself is horribly inconsistent, of course, but generally the original Gundam had kind of a puffed-up "mighty chest".
Apart from the head and shoulders MG Nu is pretty much dead on.
I assume therefore you are excusing the v2.0 proportions because you assume they are accurate, and criticizing the Nu's proportions because you don't like them...
