Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released dashcam and bodycam footage of Trooper Brack Miller engaged in a high-speed pursuit of a black SUV on the Turner Turnpike in Oklahoma City back on Saturday, April 2. During the chase, the suspect, 32-year-old Charles Carswell, opened fire on the officer, striking his patrol car several times.
On April 2, OHP was notified by an agency in Sedona, Ariz. to be on the lookout for armed robbery suspect, Charles Carswell. Troopers spotted the vehicle in Canadian County and attempted to pull the driver over. However, Carswell refused to stop and led troopers on a chase. The video showed Trooper Brack Miller from three different angles, pursuing the Carswell, who was fleeing from authorities. Entering Kilpatrick Turnpike, Carswell could be seen firing shots through his vehicle's rear window, and Trooper Miller is seen on-camera bobbing and weaving from his driver's seat.
Eventually, Miller was able to tactically ram Carswell's vehicle, ending the pursuit. Carswell got out of the vehicle with a rifle and started shooting at troopers while barricaded behind the SUV. Troopers and officers fired back at Carswell, where he was struck and killed on the scene. Two troopers were injured but are expected to recover. As is the case with any incident in which shots are fired, troopers returned fire on the suspect. However, that footage hasn’t been released to the public pending an investigation.

This is the epitome of what a Cop should be. Calm and collected under duress. Give him a good raise
Even while being shot at, he has the awareness and mental capacity to criticize himself in real time while doing things less than a percent of humans can. Dude didn’t even like his first pit attempt while completely shrugging off the incredible save he made on his own vehicle. At those speeds, it’s incredibly difficult to stabilize a car once it fishtails like that. Props to you trooper! That was valiant and stoic 🙏🏽🙌🏽
The most difficult is being calm in that situation and I can say officer is not only calm but also well trained. One thing I don't agree: keeping car from fishtail like this is not that hard unless You stay calm (like this officer did) and mostly not overreact with steering wheel or braking (that make things way worse and mostly untrained people ends in crash after fishtail because they overreact for the condition). Officer did it very well, also using all avaliable road to keep car under control. All other condition make the situation really hard. Doing all this under someone fire at You needs to be appreciated.
It’s a lot easier with those cars cuz how heavy they are but yeah Fr that was sick
Especially considering those Jeeps are one of the heaviest things on the road I was impressed he finally took it out.
lol you think this is 1 percent? what are the people who work underground with deep stuff... what fake? lmao
Anyone can do this with some basic training. It's not hard. That's why even cops can do it. They're not recruited for intelligence
Dude's cruisng at an easy 110-115mph getting shot at driving with one hand and talking with the other while trying to pit the suspect and he has the time to criticze a non ideal pit attempt while still sideways and even keeled hats off sir you got the balls.

Second to himself because he even described his first attempt as ugly in the video
They probably trained like this. Notice how he only worried about doing the pit maneuver. They trained like a football team, in which his sole responsibility was to pit maneuver the suspect. That was his sole job. He immediately got to safety after the successful pit and stopped and assessed the damage to his cruiser. This is a sign of proper training. His job was done, someone elses responsibility was to secure the suspect and make the arrest. This guy was basically the quarterback making the pass.
I’ve seen multiple chases where the police couldn’t successfully pit the suspect and this guy did it while dodging bullets making it look easy. Sheesh!!!
The stability of that $100,000 Jeep is amazing!
I know you didn't mean it, but that's actually pretty disrespectful to just say that he was born to do this as if this role was just given to him because he exists and he has a specific DNA set that created this so-called destiny to occur.
You are completely disregarding the fact that he is human just like everyone else, and with that, he has ridiculously difficult survival instincts that he has to overcome to think logically in this kind of situation.
Do you know how much work effort, skills, and training is necessary to go through and practice day in and day out to overcome that type of instinct?

Massive props to this officer and any who trained him. Big testimony to experience vs non. This guy should be training the next generation
Sadly, you can only train to a limited degree for that kind of calmness when in severe danger. That comes from regular combat experience where one learns to manage one's emotions. Even with combat veterans, very few remain that calm. This guy is just superbly confident and has incredible emotional discipline.
Imagine the whole thing was over a speeding ticket and the guy who was running away had only 300$ for the rest of the month to survive, feed a child too. He either had to do that or starve and be homeless. Would your opinion of this cop be the same then?
You can't train combat experience, this calmness under fire strictly means he was under fire more than a few times in the past,
probably military background and saw combat.
This is why combat veterans are such an invaluable asset in war,
There are so few opportunities to "condition" soldiers with such experience,

@@WatchTheNerd yeah he had a lot more officers behind him. He knows the drill. I always see high speed chases with like 30 cops and 23 of them are just standing around, looking confused as the other 7 are actually handcuffing the suspect lol
@@Whizzly602 usually, protocol is that all available officers assist in a pursuit. Oftentimes on quiet days that results in pretty much the entire PD being behind a single suspect
I'd be surprised if that thing didn't do 8 barrel rolls into the ditch after that pit
@@greatcornholio5541 "the Wolf"
He’s so brave. I would have freaked out.
The family said he was a very peaceful caring man. So why did he have all those weapons & why did he shoot it out with the cops???? There are a lot of holes in the info. Was he high on drugs?
Why did he threaten the employee at Whole foods? What is missing here? Where are all the videos from the stand off????
Where is the autopsy report?
Something is not adding up here.
Great cop dude’s a specialist need more like him.
There probably a lot like him. Just so happens media pushes the 5% that are corrupt
Truly! Hope he gets a big jump in his career.
Great cop that doesn't follow the simple law of wearing a seat belt
@@Corny6251 mustve been eating his donut or something when this happened and didnt have the time to put his strap on
There are a lot of great cops. Just the media doesn't show them. Only the bad ones
Mad props. So calm and collected. He should train the noobs
Gonna keep it fair he should just do what he’s already doing

Likely on some meds hahahah
Dude was smiling as if sharing a joke.
If I got out and looked at bullet holes in the drivers side windshield I'd be just in awe wondering where those rounds went.
Officers like this aren’t appreciated enough....he was calm af under fire! The type of guy you’d want in a foxhole with you💯🔥WELL DONE SIR!
Well said!
Go back to back with him anyday
Cool, calm & collected. Exactly how you want to be in situations like this.
Which makes Sal today’s biggest loser
...once again these incredible police got their guy and saved the tax payers a bundle. Police have incredibly tough jobs, they should always be assisted, and those who don't, get to be on this channel.....
Why don't cops have bullet proof windshields?
@@ballstothewall38 $
@@ballstothewall38 bulletproofing isn't something you can just "add".
Its very heavy. Bulletproof glass is extremely thick and heavy. Adding this to bulletproof panels would make the car impossibly heavy. You'd have to reinforce the frame, suspension, tires, etc. You'll also need a more powerful engine to get moving.
All of this is very expensive. Departments simply don't have the money to outfit their cars like this.
And then considering of how many policecars actually get shot, the number is still very low to make such a purchase worth it.
You are absolutely awesome, good sir. Thank you for your service, seriously.

This is probably one of the greatest showings of badassery on this channel to this date. This man has his mind set and wont let anything stop him.
Professionalism, devotion and commitment at what he does, he was fully engaged into knowing what to do. Also good video of showing the relevant stuff.
Wow! Talk about keeping a calm demeanor while being shot at! The officer was true professional.
That cop is an absolute weapon! Massive respect!
Extreme professionalism displayed by the officer. Cool, Calm, and Collected during an intense moment. The world needs more officers like this guy
Breen Gay sucks, but I agree. LOL Cheers!
I agree he was totally chill and like it's all in a day's work no problem
Ball of steel, salute to this officer.

@Robin Karlsson he has so much gusto, he only needed one ball at that time while the other was kept in reserve

I would be shouting so many expletives if I were in his shoes that UA-cam would never allow the footage shown.
For all LEO out there, yall can agree this is some of the most impressive video I have seen. His composure is incredible and managed that whole situation like a boss. All my praise to that trooper!
Probably ex-military.
Texas LEO here;
Yes it is!
I was gonna comment on the frustration of clicking on your radio and getting only tone.....🤬
Especially during times like this. (Actually kept happening to me yesterday responding to a juvenile threatening his mom with a knife....🤦♂️for the love of God! Please clear channel.)
