This is the first video that I actually really understand what I am doing after watching multiple videos. Thank you I have finally made one that actually works AND I know now how it works too!
Dear Chris, I am an Economics major at CSU Fresno but love art so I took up ceramics. I'm always looking for new ideas and totally forgot the nerd in me. Thank you for your great video/tutorial, you have the best videos!
Helpful video, I just would love to see all the tunning part... first hole gave a D, second an E, both an F... but the others... how does it works, the combination of closed and opened holes... and their notes... Could you please explain that in another video?
Wait... "Three-eights of an inch, which is a little less than a quarter of an inch-" 1/4 = 2/8 2/8 < 3/8 Just thought I'd point out that tiny thing I noticed.
Great, your videos have helped me a lot, I've tried to make ocarinas but my biggest problem is that the holes are too big, first note of the ocarina is not "C" or "A", often stays at "E" and my other problem is that the top notes do not sound, stay give me some advice?
Dang... Yours looks soo much better than mine does so far.. I'm currently in the waiting like 4 hours part maybe I can smooth it a little bit then. I just hope that the clay that I have doesn't dry super fast... If only I had wooden dowels. I could do this method easier. Its kinda hard to keep it nice with only fingers..
Hello Chris. Thank you for this video! Can you tell me, whether it is possible to make very big ocarina that can be played by one person? By big I mean mabe 1,7 meters high? The tunnel, where the one blows air in would have to be altered I guess.
You rock. I've been thinking a I want to try making a pendent ocarina that looks like a bird 🤔 I have one that I bought from a lady at a fair years ago and I want another but I can't find her anywhere lol
Thank you for your videos, it´s very interesting. I had a question, do you have an other option if we don't have the specific tools to make holes? And how much do you have to wait until it's dry ? Thank you !
You dont think someone would have wanted to see the whole tuning orocess to know what the notes are in??? All of you on youtube are witholding this info

When you complete the mouthpiece and lip, how would you adjust the pitch if it didn't land right on C?

How long should the ocarina measure? I understand that the sound varies depending on the size
Very cool. Thanks.
