the great sadness is that this film was originally to be shot taking place throughout an entire actual TOWN of Denton, as referenced in Rocky Horror.(very TRuman Show) A strike at the studio forced O'Brien to quickly rewrite the entire script to take place in a few closed studio rooms. This DESTROYED the impact. The original idea was HUGE, and would be a totally different animal that would be greatly respected with the great music, and the idea of reality TV BEFORE it ever even came about! posting this on this song + Shock Treatment theme.
People who don't think this movie is good are not fully appreciating the satire, I think. It is especially relevant in the context of our current culture, even more so than when it was made. Truly ahead of it's time. And, I love the soundtrack. Every bit as good as RHPS, just different. These songs actually get stuck in my head more.
I loved it, even more then rocky horror. The songs are just so damn catchy :D right from the start awesome Denton anthem an Bitchin in the kitchen...just pure awesomeness.
I'm guessing that the movie is a critique of medical and psychological care, offering a case that shows how the industry feeds itself on patients that are sometimes healthy. Am I close?
Hey, wait! Ok for you to love the movie, but you can't enjoy it more than Rocky Horror. Rocky Horror is the best musical and one of the greatest movies of all times. Every frame of it is incredible classic. Every song, even every sound of the movie is classic and great. Tim Curry makes one of the greatest performances ever seen on screen. You can't beat that!
Mateus Matzenbacher I like Tim Curry, but I hate the character Dr. Frank-N-Furter. He seems irredeemable to me. ( He gutted Eddie with an ice pick purely out of jealousy!) I LOVE Shock Treatment as a whole though. Why? It actually had a point! And Jessica Harper is Janet in it. I've been a dedicated Phantom of the Paradise fan for about a year now. (Phoenix!) Don't tell people their opinion is outright wrong. They won't like that.

I watched this movie as a young kid, at the same time watching The Rocky Horror Picture Show. ...I thoroughly loved both, though I think mainly because of the songs.
No, it is neither a Sequel, not a prequel and deff not an equal (it is but....), It is and always will be... "The continuing adventures of Brad and Janet"
@vidkidxyz ur comment makes no sense, man the left ALREADY got quite the shock from the 2016 elections as did the right, come to think about it (as did trump himself, i am 100% sure) trump/pence winning in the first place was already enough of a shock to make sure they will never be shocked again unless AOC . trump reinstated, the left will simply react with head-shaking and sighs and "here we go again"
I love this song, but I'm not a fan of the movie. I couldn't get used to a different Brad and Janet, and I don't think the other songs are particularly memorable. But I've had this song stuck in my head for days! I love it!
+Isy Santini The recasting of Brad and Janet seems to be one of the two things that made the movie dead on arrival, alongside it's ridiculously limited release. One of those two things is utterly petty by the way.... >___>
Antichrist2000 lol ive watched this once (yesterday) and rhps only five times, i would say rhps is cooler but i see what you mean. the music is catchy, like, immediately
I hate the movie itself but the songs were cool. I'll buy the soundtrack but I'll never watch the movie again, unlike Rocky Horror which I'll probably watch tonight and tommorow and then the day after tommorow and so on
I know there will never be a remake to this, but at least I have ideas on the cast. Reeve Carney and Christina Lilian as the McKinleys, Annaleigh Ashford as Nurse Ansalong and Jeff Lilico as Ralph
olserknam There was a strike going on that made it pretty much illegal for them to film anywhere but a TV studio. It becomes difficult to have any sort of atmosphere but the one it's got. Most of the songs were written for a completely different plot that they had to drop. (For instance this song was originally written for the resurrection of Frank, Little Black Dress was a Frank N Furter song, Breakin Out was originally to be sung by Rocky, etc.
olserknam And it just doesn't have the incredible catchy tunes Rocky Horror had. Rocky Horror is just the epitome of a cult classic! I do like this song, though! I have the album.
Jeff Stringer so, whT you mean is that the rocky horror was a little more of a sacred classic colt while this was more of a memorable good time to have around to bring you up from the dumps, because that does make since and i agree
This movie is vastly superior. Had better design (The Locations and Art Department where completely under utilized), actually had choreography for the musical numbers (The Time Warp is the only part that has that), and actually has something to say rather than a mixmash of ideas and spoofs that never add up to much.
What? The Rocy Horror Picture Show had nothing to say? That's because YOU did't get it! There's a great criticism of what people think about gay community. For the society, it's like gay people were "aliens", creatures "out of this world", and as Dr Scott says after Riff Raff kill Frank: "Society must be protected", like if you had to protect society from gay people. And when Scott wakes up in the floorshow and Frank and the others are on the pool, the doctor starts to say: "We have to get out of this 'trap'... we've got to hang on", like they must NOT let some gay wish "persuade" them. And it's great by the very final where Brad and Janet are deeply disturbed of what happened, especially Brad -- he doen't like to feel that way, and he seems to try to get some help, because feel that is "wrong". The locations are legendary: the studio and the castle. Every part of the decoration is memorable. And you don't have to have choreography, that's wht the only one is the one of Time Warp: they were at a party, so that makes sense. The costumes are all legendary too. It's all great. All of that is part of why the movie is so unique and original.
the great sadness is that this film was originally to be shot taking place throughout an entire actual TOWN of Denton, as referenced in Rocky Horror.(very TRuman Show) A strike at the studio forced O'Brien to quickly rewrite the entire script to take place in a few closed studio rooms. Bryan Trahan I kinda like how it’s like this whole weird town inside a tv studio though
Do you know where to find the original script? I hear it makes a lot more sense.
Love or hate this movie, but you have to admire how it captured reality television. Way ahead of its time.
Fr. Some people just know
I like both films. O 'Brien is the bombastic

I mean it's objectively not the best movie, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy it
I still can't believe Richard O'Brian voiced Phineas and Ferb's dad in Phineas & Ferb.
+Victor Hernandez WHAT
OH MY GOD
I can't watch that show because my channel options are cut in half, but REALLY!?
MegaAzornumbers09
Gospel truth!
I might actually check that show out now .
if it wasnt in german in my tv id watch it more often just because
That is the least cool comment ever.
I agree that this movie is essentially a parody - a creepy yet addictive dark one - of the equally twisted world of reality TV we now have.

Shock
Awesome song...my only complaint is it's a bit too short. I'd love to hear at least one more verse.
they have the single version somewhere online its a little longer and a little better i think
This song just makes its way into my head and just...stays there for a while.
this song and this movie is just gold. i swear to god, all the music in this movie is so insanely good
This movie is underappreciated and way ahead of it's time
The way Pat sings, "Like a shot" omg O.O
You need a bit of..
ohhh! Shock Treatment
Get you jumpin like a real live wire.
I don't like it as a follow-up to RHPS, but I do like it as a standalone thing.
72speedway me too
Just think of it as the second half of a double feature
@@Spirosaur The song *is* Science Fiction Double Feature, anyway.
Pretty much my thoughts on the subject. You change a few of the character names and it's no different than any other creator using a regular cast.
it´s an equal, not a sequal
I watched this movie as a young kid, at the same time watching The Rocky Horror Picture Show. ...I thoroughly loved both, though I think mainly because of the songs.
We tried to wake people
They like being asleep
The Cinema Snob likes this track, because being blinded by science.
I don't mean to say nothing original but this man is a bloody genius!
Hai Brad, I just wanted to show you how fabulous I am!
No, it is neither a Sequel, not a prequel and deff not an equal (it is but....), It is and always will be... "The continuing adventures of Brad and Janet"
Good thing I crossed this movie off my list of films to watch before I die.
I love this, I can't stop singing it XD
This film suffers from being compared to Rocky Horror as its own film its quite good.
I do Electroconvulsive therapy and every time I get a treatment I listen to this song.
One of the only musicals I liked.
(Gotta watch the original some day...)
This movie is great as a musical, but The Rocy Horror Picture Show is the best of all times.
Grease....jesus Christ superstar.... Little shop of horrors....
ah the mike pence theme song
MrGcat45 goddam it i spat my drink everywhere
Well...yes!

@vidkidxyz You sound like you've had a few too many doses of shock treatment yourself, man.
@@louschwick7301 ok kid
Suspicion of tradition so new wave!~
Love the song!😍😍
See... i didn't find "Shock Treatment" to be as good of a movie as The "Rocky Horror Picture Show"
The songs were just as catchy though
What plays in my head when I play The Doctor in Dead by Daylight.
I listen to this when I main Medic in TF2
Oh you better believe I'm doing that from now on
Whoa. I can't believe I didn't notice that.
That's fucking awesome.

Looks like this is a movie you either love or hate. Am I right??
LyleVSXyle i kinda....both

16shogunelitegreen ....sarcasm?
how?
You could say that it's like an equal song for an equal movie
This is the superior blinded by science song from the 80s
1% better than my childhood (Rocky Horror)
LOVE!!!
xoxo The Clarences
Such a good song...but TOO SHORT!
Trust him, he's a doctor.
This soundtrack is every bit as memorable as ROCKY HORROR. The film is also technically better and funnier. Yeah. I'm sayin' it.
I'm with you. Brilliant film, IMO. Yeah, I'm sayin' it too.
But this film doesn't have the atmosphere of the first Rocky Horror ;)

I'm here from Jack stauber dancing with machetes
I have sung this with Mr. O'Brien.
Just played this fb link that said "name your vagina with the title of the last movie you watched" and it was seriously THIS!! LMFAO 😅😅 lovin' it! 💘
Macabre, isn't it? The blind leading the blind.
why couldnt the rest of the soundtrack have been as good as this song
I do agree that this song/melody is the best of the bunch. It's very catchy. Little Black Dress is a distant second.
Edward Collins I'd say bitchin in the kitchen is better than little black dress
what are the lyrics about? its a bit obscure to me :-/
Good *ghod* the production on this is bad; it's compressed to a fare-thee-well. Are there better recordings of this available anywhere?
I have the solo version by richard o'brien who wrote both movies, & if u want, i can make it instrumental for you.
i love this song
Love this song
Wish I can busted this movie.
Who here thinks with a lyric change this could replace eddies teddy in rhps?

2018?
Pikkel Joos every few months or so, I listen to this soundtrack, and am amazed that this whole thing flew under the radar
It is not a good of a movie to Rocky but still a good movie in its own right
Great song, movie was nowhere as good as RHPS.
I hated this musical then fell for it
Jack Stauber Anyone?
Lame movie, great soundtrack.
i did't evan know there was a sequal to rocky horryr
keine Sequel sondern equal

Not a sequel. Not a prequel. But an equal!
