There is a twisted dementia to this film that I find oh so appealing. Is it Rocky Horror? No. That's a different experience. But Shock Treatment is something unique. The feeling I get from this film is much more akin to the one I get from watching TRUE STORIES by the Talking Heads.
Thanks for posting this, Iooove this song. It's a shame both this movie and Richard O'Brien are so underrated. Barely anyone's even heard of this movie and all Richard's known for nowadays is just Phineas and Ferb's dad. What a shame, the man's a genius.
I think “Looking For Trade” is probably my favorite piece on this soundtrack, and the solo version of “Shock Treatment” is really cool too. You can really hear how O’Brien grew and improved as a songwriter between Rocky Horror and this. It’s a great overlooked piece of work. Setting aside any connection to Rocky, it’s way ahead of its time as a commentary on the perils of reality television culture and the instant fame it thrusts onto people ill-prepared for the notoriety they will receive for the effort.
i love this movie so damn much. it gives me such a heavy feeling of happiness for some reason that i can hardly withhold when watching it. it's just amazing
Does anyone find it odd that this version was played long after the credits stopped rolling and ended just as the FBI warning popped up? Btw I like this version better then the one that was done by the cast in the movie.
I've always said this movie really got everything that was going on in the US..... it's kind of scary house spot on it really is. Remember the sun never sets and those who write off into it! There's such a message about falling for flash , actors, and celebrities.
I must say that ever since I found out about this movie a few days ago and watched it, it seems almost impossible for it or it's songs to be far from my thoughts. I've watched reviews that speak of the fact that it wasn't received well at it's time where many-fold. One reason being that it was only released at Midnight Showings because they wanted another fad like the Rocky Horror Picture Show! I agree with Cinema Snob that this movie was a somewhat eerie prediction of present day times.
This version is only available after the credits stop rolling as a "post credits" song not sure if it was played in theaters, but on the vhs version it's on there.
I can't find it anymore, but I definitely remember a youtube comment saying that this song had a hidden verse that got scrapped, and all I remember from it was the lyrics, "your a bloke who can turn down a whore". Does anyone know what the whole verse is or if it's real or not?

On a VHS tape, it did that. On a DVD I have, it plays during the credits. I thought it was really odd too.

The soundtrack's available on iTunes right now.
Me too
It did in the U.K. though which pisses me off that the U.S. didn't
but now on UA-cam everything is here
Thank you so much for putting this soundtrack up. Shock Treatment is a pretty good film
Why is this song missing on the spotify version?
It's not on the actual soundtrack album.
This version is only available after the credits stop rolling as a "post credits" song not sure if it was played in theaters, but on the vhs version it's on there.
I love my Richard for 30 years, thanx so much
They've just released it on ITunes!
That little black dress
I love this version, wish it was on spotify
This a bit of an unusual question, but has anyone ever heard this, or any song from Shock Treatment, play on the radio? If so, when?
funny as hell
if this is hell, I wanna go there forever, haha
¿Por qué es tan corta? necesito que dure aunque sea un minuto más
There's a vague hint of Oingo Boingo in this.
