Pull into your lower chest instead of under your chin and instead of tapping down to your lap after each stroke, just let the handle pull itself slowly back to the fan. You can find tons of videos online: search "how to use an erg". You can injure yourself if you use it incorrectly and that means less waves lol.

Went from Hawaii to Tokyo, Tokyo to Singapore & then on the Singapore to Perth flight I was seated not only next to a big fat guy, but a big fat guy who was constantly coughing. Had to wear a facemask all the way home. But luckily didn't get sick : D

usually around 100-200dollars round trip for boards. If he is not flown out for an event than he pays for himself im guessing.
Quiksilver reimburses their athletes for plane tickets and some other travel expenses. It's a built-in part of sponsorship at Koa's level.
