@@the_burned_man Basically, there are different denominations of Christianity. All Mormons are Christians but not all Christians are Mormons. The main difference between Christians and Mormons is that Mormons use the Book of Mormon (a book that the Mormons believe that modern day prophets wrote under guidance from God) in addition to the Bible. But despite our differences, all Christian denominations share the belief that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the One True Living God and that He sent His own Son Jesus Christ to Earth as a sacrifice so anyone could be saved (1 Timothy 2:5). Christians aren’t meant to believe we are better than anyone because we aren’t (Romans 3:23-24), we believe that the only perfect human being to ever exist was Jesus. Yet despite being a King, Jesus was content living among us and simply doing good and teaching us to Love one another as He loved us (John 13:34-35). We believe that God demonstrated His own love for everyone on Earth in that while humanity often rejects God, He still sent His own Son to die a death He didn’t deserve so that we didn’t have to suffer (John 3:16-18 and Romans 5:8).
TLDR: Basically, as Christians, we aren’t meant to be on a pedestal or think of ourselves as better or holier than thou, we’re just meant to be imitators of Christ and try to make this world a better place to honor our Father in Heaven (Ephesians 2:10).

@@t.rexking441 that's pretty spot on, but we believe that the Book of Mormon was written by ancient people in the Americas actually, the modern day Prophets came afterwards.

@Shiva King when he said "we can find new solutions to old problems" religion does precisely the opposite.
I am not homophobic or racist, but if i was born lets say 200 years ago, i probably would be racist and homophobic. The reason for this is not due to a physiological difference in my brain now then 200 years ago, but because of cultural evolution. With each generation being born in a new context from the last, as the last spent their time coming up with new solutions that are common place in the new generation. Any text that claims to be from a higher power stops cultural evolution, as it is claiming that what is in this book is true, just, and correct and will be for all time, so the next generation will not find new solutions as they believe they already have those solutions, and so won't look for new ones (on certain things, science and other things can still progress in a religious dominant country, however its usually in spite of that religion past the 18th century). However, from certain commonalities between popular religions (views on slavery, homosexuality, science mistakes, gender, a god, an afterlife where if you don't believe you go to hell and if you do you go to heaven) show that these religions were not created by god, but by humans who may have been geniuses, but where geniuses of the time, as there were less avenues for conscious thought back then. Now with the internet, religion is only a barrier to cultural evolution, as it is saying that we cannot move on from the cultural mindset of someone, and this shows in the problems with gay and trans rights that often come up in religion, which certain religions do not want to back down on due to it meaning that there book cannot be from a most just and merciful all knowing higher power if they acknowledged that it were morally wrong to be homophobic.
Also, most religious people are inherently a little selfish, and do not believe out of love for their god, but out of that fact that they want to go to heaven. The afterlife thing is the main reason most people (whether consciously or not) are religious, and it is the reason people refuse to acknowledge the problems with their religion and stay religious. If every religious person had no thought of the afterlife and believed because what was said in the holy books was just that factually irrefutable, there would be very few religious people. The main reason is because it betters their psyche, to falsify their world in order to make it seem less bleak. This can be good (make people less stressed) but it also makes people forget there mortality whilst also making them less likely to stand up to things and spend their time wisely, as they believe its all fine cause they will go to heaven and then they will have all the time in the world to do what they want to do. What is a good religious person without heaven? You are just serving a being because they are powerful. Heaven and hell, jannah and jahannam is what makes people keep their religious mindset. But what are you once you go to heaven, what will make you keep your faith? That your god is just? whilst he burns endless people eternally (which he created, and which he made them not discover the truth of their religion, so they send loads of people to hell for basically no other reason that they want to, or to unintentionally build a massive army in hell as inevitably less and less people become religious as science progresses, and so therefore more people go to hell, until he has given satan or Iblis an army big enough to over take them.
Essentially Religion is a limiter of the mind and makes you not live up to your true potential you are capable as being a human. Yes it can make people motivated and passionate, but motivated and passionate on the same things, rather than motivated and passionate about new innovative things, which is why so many people hate it.
Also most of the things he said can be done without religion, religious people just don't understand that it is a common chemical reaction in humans that can be motivated by many things, religion is one of them, but it isn't the only way to attain those things. Religious people don't understand this because they don't understand that religion plays into human emotions, so that is there experience with those emotions and they relate that to religion, and believe others cannot attain those emotions without religion, even though people can attain those without religion but religious people have such a fixed worldview that they don't realise their perception of reality is controlled by the environment you grew up in, and so if you grew up religious, you mindset towards basic human emotions is controlled by religion, and so you believe that is the only way to attain happiness, but your perception is not reality, people can have experiences completely outside of your own, but most religious people have too closed an understanding of consciousness to understand that.
