    Another great walk-through.
Of note is the new fridge, which is compressor-driven. These cool very quickly, recover very quickly, and will work at up to 30° off level. The previous fridge was LP, and insanely narrow.
I did tell Terry that Winnebago stopped short on the range. They should have put an induction cook-top in instead of the old fashioned LP one. But, you can get a portable one from ALDIS for ~$40 like I did.
Finally, in bad weather, or honesty challenged areas, you can leave the bed up, and put your bike in its place. It should be easy to install a couple of tie-downs, and ratchet it in place for travel. Then you can use the "living room" for a bed, and still have dual captains chairs to sit in.
    Lovely possibilities!

Thanks for the additional info. I’m really liking the large fridge and the huge separate freezer. I haven’t used the propane stove top yet. I did see the video by The FitRV comparing induction to propane to boil water and the induction kicked the propane’s butt on boiling water faster.

just back from the travato rental -- and would have considered this van but found 5 main problems that i experienced which gave doubt to this purchase
    1. really loud generator noise must be on using AC to sleep at night
    2. even more loud AC noise ( right over the bed ) combined with generator caused us to want ear mufflers so sleeping was a real challenge ( not to mention there are only two fan speeds - high and really high ) so cold air blowing directly on us was unavoidable all night and felt like being in a mini hurricane ( aaagghh)
    3. the shower pump gets clogged with debris and wont drain ( we were bailing water after ever shower) we cleaned the screw off filter but found it was clogged at the pump area -- so under the van with tools after every 4 showers ( maybe not )
4 . the main electrical switch is at the foot level when you enter and leave side door -- that we frequently kick off -- without knowing -- it is really misplaced in this van
    5. on / off switches for lights and all are all over the place - a more central location for most would seem more practical in my view --
me and wife enjoyed all else -- i am glad we had the experience but learned how to choose more wisely

I like the layout of the Travato 59G... In a few years, I'll be seriously shopping. I like the GL, but it may end up out of my price range. The G would be usable, but I've heard the generator is loud and it's not very efficient. There are inverter generators that are smaller, quieter and more efficient... yet the RV industry hasn't found anything better than the Onan crap?
Eh, I'll probably work my butt off and try to find a way to afford the GL. I think the Lithium system will be worth the extra coin.

I like Class B's because of the Stealth and maneuverability and Travato is a great model, I was looking at the K model but your videos made me think perhaps the G is the way that will suit me better.
I am 6 '1 so I need to find a dealership to be able to have a walk-through, hopefully, I can be comfortable.
Definitely, at the time for me to be able to buy one ( used), I will find a good deal because $100000 + is not my budget at all.

Great review, been looking at the Travato, coming from a Class C 26’ RV with exterior kitchen and large rear bed, ok with downsizing:)....question, I’m so organized and where to place everything, I’m just stuck on bedding, pillows, sheets, and everyday clothes with towels, doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of room in them, let along your two chairs, little outside table, maybe a small exterior stove and other items. Appreciate any feedback. Great share, thank you for taking the time✌🏻✌🏻

    • @gosmall.livelarge
      @gosmall.livelarge  5 років тому +1

Yeah, JC. I find that prioritizing what really matters is an evolutionary process. What I used to think is important no longer is. To your point on bedding, I have an extra set of both, but haven't used them yet, so I'm considering eliminating them. Haven't done so yet. Great job on considering the downsize. I love the agility of the size of Class B... go any where and do most anything is really a great feeling. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Hello Scott
Happy New Year ! I have been watching your videos for over a year now and you have inspired me in such a huge way. It seems you can read my mind because all my questions gets answered. I have always loved the Winnebago travato GL model I’m 58 and live in a room and I would like to now get my RV for fulltime living. I do live in New York so I need a 4 seasons capability coach. And I know the travato 59GL is perfect! Can you tell me about how much downpayment and about financing ? and what is the cost for this travato the model you have? Thank you always for your videos and I look forward to watching them all.

My van in June 2018 cost me $108k. I put $30K down and financed the rest over 20 years with a monthly payment of $600. Excited for your journey

Go Small. Live Large! Well I thought I was set on the Coachmen Beyond but then I saw a Class B with a front lounge (I think it was a Hymer Activ and then seeing your Travato G.) So now I’m looking at (and loving) the Travato G. I saw a 2019 Panoramic RV (from Canada) and it is fabulous too but not available in the U.S. (yet). I prefer a Ford chassis but I’d be satisfied with a Ram (anything but a Mercedes/Sprinter chassis). I am loving your videos and falling in love with your rig 😍

Excellent review -- thanks! One quick question: what is the internal width of the space between the bed in the up position and the opposing wall (bed support to bed support)? Eyeballing it from your video at 17:28 it seems like 36" or so but I wonder. MANY thanks in advance if you can measure it and post it here!

Nope! In your one-year video (May 2020) you have the exact measurements of the "garage": 25 W, 26 H, 48 L. (Height is with the bed down, of course.) Thanks!

Hi, I am wondering if that bench seat behind the passenger seat at the entry to the coach has any value? I think it looks clunky. Does it have good storage underneath or something? I don't need the extra seat for a person. Also, does the 59G have the option of a cassette toilet rather than a blank tank? Thank you.

The jumpseat in my GL contains the 3600 watt inverter. In the non-Volta equipped the jumpseat contains the water tank. I find that jumpseat very functional for a variety of reasons that I explain in many videos.

Looking forward to see if Travato meets your expectations. I'm looking at almost the exact model. GL with many options. I was born in Forest City and may be prejudiced. I want to be certain that this doesn't keep me from making a good decision. What about the 1 year warranty vs. longer warranties from other makers? Thanks.

    • @gosmall.livelarge
      @gosmall.livelarge  6 років тому

Hey Brad. Appreciate your comment. And to be from Forest City, Iowa, Home of Winnebago, very cool.
I have had many questions about the 1 year Winnebago warranty vs competitor’s longer warranties. I admit to not choosing my RV based upon a warranty. I choose it based upon how it would fit my RV lifestyle, my Vanlife needs and expectations.
The Volta system was my biggest concern and it comes With an 8 year warranty. In the end I bought a third party, RV-specific 7-year extended warranty that covers nearly everything, including the chassis. So, obviously having coverage was important for peace of mind.
I’m excited to be doing that upcoming video and see what we all learn!
Thanks for being a viewer :)

DotorWhoGeek, great questions. And thanks for comment. I’d say the travato GL is a three season van for sure. All water lines are inside, the fresh and dirty water tanks are exterior in enclosed/insulated/heated boxes. So is the lithium battery pack. I’m going to push my rig into 4 season but probably not below 20 degrees.

Thanks for the video, my wife and I are seriously thinking about this for our RV. We had been looking at LV’S but they got a very negative review from Creative RV, so decided that we would avoid that hassle. Would it be possible to have one without all the markings of Winnebago? I’d want just a plain white one, with no markings.
    Thanks,

    • @gosmall.livelarge

Regarding the markings, I think a good body shop, or a competent DIYer, can remove the Winnebago badging from the vehicle. As to paint color, I wish there were a few more options from WGO as Ram offers the ProMaster in many colors.
